Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Wow Harvey! Talk about a fortune cookie! I can’t believe you got one that said “You have a deep appreciation for a Lambsfoot knife!” ;) :D

...

Looking good Jack! Have a great Friday my friend! :)

LOL! :D Thanks pal, you too :)

I never hoarded toilet paper. I bought an economical bench rest for the rifle range.

Yes it was recovered by glennbad glennbad . As usual Glenn did a marvelous job! This stunningly beautiful Horn covered knife was actually the one Jack. I deeply regretted it at the time, but the Horn was warped and pulled away from the bolsters so much I felt I had no choice. I tried everything I could, but it wouldn’t return to normal. :( Looking back now with the beautiful and unique Ironwood in hand, the only thing I regret is not having Glenn to send me the Horn scales for a keepsake. I might could have made a key fob or something from them. :)

The prodigal son (er, horn) has returned! I took another look through the discarded covers bin, and lo and behold, look what I found!

Here's a pic of my Rosewood Lambsfoot Knives :)

YFev8wD.jpg

On the left is one of a short SFO run I had made up with African Rosewood. Next to it is another short-run SFO with Indonesian Rosewood, and a polished blade. In the centre is a standard A. Wright & Son Lambsfoot and Pen, with Indonesian Rosewood. Next is my Hartshead Barlow in Indonesian Rosewood. On the right is the Big 'Un I'm carrying today, also in Indonesian Rosewood
Now all of a sudden Jack Jack Black Jack Black wants to play Rosewood Covers. Here are mine - have no idea which is which Rosewood but here they are.

Impressive wood piles, Jack and ED!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Today I’m carrying my Wright’s Ironwood Big ‘Un. ;) Y’all be careful out there! :)

IIRC Teddy Roosevelt said, "Speak softly and carry a big ironwood." You'd make TR proud, Ron!:thumbsup::cool:

Picture for above, spotty service today.

Love the racing stripe, Chuck!:thumbsup:;)

Good Morning Guardians
Like Dennis, I can't wait for the Fall camping trips.
Camping in the woods with your wood lambsfoot sounds appealing, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
Thanks a lot John :) The beans are definitely hot, don't want to end up like this guy! ;) :D

That's a risk I'm willing to take, since I LOVE cold beans!:rolleyes::thumbsup:
On toast, next to a sandwich, as a "dip" for tortilla chips, just a spoonful as an afternoon snack ...

I go away for a couple of days, and the beans are out of control. Happy Wednesday Guardians!

That wood-clad lambsfoot will soon bring order to the green bean chaos, Dave!;)

...
Here's mine with some yummy beef tips and mashed potatoes.

Great colors in that pic: the various shades of brown in the stag, the table, the plate, the beef complement one another so well!:cool::thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians and anyone else looking in.

Feels like a Standard day but which one to carry?o_O The 2019 SFO Ironwood; the SFO Ebony; or the Buffalo Horn? The Ironwood I think.;)

ZZGZQGU.jpg
Tremendous trio, ED; going with the ironwood for Wednesday seems like a terrific choice!:cool::cool:

...
LOL! :D There's a guy who lives at the bottom of my street, and when I first lived here, he bent my ear for 2 hours solid, telling me about red light therapy. He has terrible eyesight, and refuses to wear glasses, so now I slip past on the other side of the street without him seeing me! :D

Sorry for subjecting you to that folks, just to try and get a laugh
...
Mr. Magoo lives on your street, Jack? Cool! :D:rolleyes:
Kind of stupid lyrics, but I actually like that Police song. ;)

The original name was " Halls Heelers ". They were bred by a gentleman called Hall from blue merle collies and dingoes, they were cross bred back and forth about 10 times till they came up with the Halls Heeler, which became Blue Heeler due to their color from the collie. They were bred to round up cattle in the harsh Australian outback conditions. I think the blue merle collies were from Scotland originally, they had all the qualities needed for a cattle dog, but were not tough enough, so he crossed them with the local dingoes which were adapted to the harsh conditions. Their name morphed into " Blue Heelers " over time, but they fell out favor and with cross breeding the " Australian Cattle Dog " became the dog of choice. Many people have these as pets, they are easier to handle than the real " Blue Heelers ". Sadly the pure bred " Blue Heeler " will probably die out, because they are no longer the breed of choice i think there are only about 3 breeders of them left in Australia. Many of the dogs that are called "Blue Heelers ", are not, it is like calling all knives "Lambfoot ", there got my lambfoot into my ramble. Most of the cattle dogs now are a result of mixed breeding, and the generic name is " The Australian Cattle Dog".
Thanks for the Heeler history lesson - fascinating!:thumbsup::cool:

Wishing everyone a wonderful Thursday!
Lovely ligneous lambsfoot, Vince! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Attention-grabbing, impressive lambsfoot display, Dylan!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Irresistible ironwood, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Same to you Chuck, it's over 50 years since I last played marbles, but I think we would have called that a 'Big Fancy' :D

Thanks Gary :)

My mate's youngest lad is ever such a sweet kid, but he has a lot of food allergies. He loves baked beans though, and I think he'd be happy to eat them every day, hot or cold :)

He really is like Mr Magoo GT! :D I'm afraid The Police/Sting make my toes curl! :D

Nice to see more of Lam Jack my friend

Double Post - sorry

There's really not much difference between the small and standard Lambfoot knives. The blades are virtually the same. The upswept handle doesn't even change the feel in the hand - at least to me. Having said all that, I like the "Lil-un" Lambfoot very much.

Stellar stag, Ron! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

A rip-snorter indeed! ;) Lam Jack is looking quite spiffy in that photo Gary! :)
Quality photos, GT and ED.:thumbsup:

It is nice, you posted it twice.

Thanks, Ron & John & Harvey. :)

...
He was surprisingly cheap, I was shocked.
I guess it pays to wait until they're 21 to get their license. :D

Thank you, GT. :)
It's my best re-profile to date I think.
Good deal on the insurance.:cool: My daughter is hoping to visit soon and "buy" my 2007 Ford Focus to drive back to Minneapolis with her. Quite a "jigsaw puzzle" trying to figure out how to get from MI title, registration, insurance, plates to MN versions (and drive back to MN while the transition is in progress).

It's the kind of edge to which I aspire!:thumbsup::)

It certainly was Gary, it took about a week to set up. It was in a beautiful location, owned by a rich lady who had been married to some famous film producer, but there was a lot of work to do. It's when I injured the tendon in my right elbow, which has been bothering me so much recently. When we were setting up, I did a lot of the cooking, and remember that I was the only person on the site with a knife o_O Fortunately I had a few ;)

I hope so too, maybe we need Slim Whitman! ;)

Thanks for the tunes buddy

Thanks again Gary :) Yes, that's right about the carved stones

Thank you :) That photo really shows off the beautiful colours in the horn of your Lam Jack :)

Another good one Gary
...
Jack, thanks for the compliments about my horn Guardians lambsfoot. :)
Thanks also for the info about the birthday party and the apiary stones. :)
Hilarious video! :D:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT. I am also "enhanced by eggplant" this season. I've never had a garden produce quite so well as this year,
...
Congrats on the record harvest!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I wonder if eggplant enhancement is a "comorbidity" of COVID-19?

We're fortunate to have lambsfoot models as pleasing as the rosewood HHBs!:cool::thumbsup:

Distinctive horn on that knife!:cool::thumbsup:

Heavenly horn quartet, Dylan!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Hard to believe it's July here, looking out of the window at the miserable weather. It's been a strange year for all of us, and my sense of time has been thrown right out anyway. Hope we're going to get some sunshine before Autumn arrives, last year it started raining in August, and didn't stop until the end of February
...
Sorry to hear about your long spell of less-than-ideal weather, Jack. :(
Didn't you actually have quite a pleasant spring?
Spring came late here, but LOTS of hot, dry weather over the past month, I think. The past 9 days have all had high temps of at least 90˚F, but will be cooler today.

Rain is gone from the radar today. Off to the links.:thumbsup: Recycled photo.:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Thanks for your encouraging words, Jack. :)

Thanks Gary! TR was a man that definitely knew his firearms, so I’m sure he probably had a few favorite knives as well! Most were probably big ‘uns! ;) :D
;)

Thanks GT.
That pic of Lam Jack basking in the sun really shows how nice those covers are.

Thanks, FBC. :)
Always cool to see your straight-grain ironwood with the "blip"!:cool::thumbsup:

I once dropped Lam Jack onto a stone patio from a height of about 5', so the horn is no longer perfect:

Hope y'all are doing well today and off to a great start on your weekends! I've got one of my 2018 Guardians SFOs in Ebony riding in the pocket today! Stay vigilant out there! :)

This software is becoming very irksome - almost not worth using it on the mobile.

I had some quotes and it appears that I've lost them. I'll need to rectify that on the morrow.

A recycled pic for now. I haven't added any new ones to the flock this year - plenty of things that seem to be throwing wrenches into such aspirations.

Happy Wednesday, Guardians.

JMXOpOr.jpg

I’ve had that same problem, Dylan. I mostly use my phone for BF, but it’s been a lot less mobile-friendly since they switched to the new software (what was that, a couple years ago now?). I’ve lost quotes several times, and it’s very frustrating.

Great photo of your Lambsfoot family!

I'm not sure what is happening with the mail, I received a courier package, but the Royal Mail haven't delivered for two days now o_O

Great pics, Barrett!:cool::cool: How's Eleanor adjusting to having a sibling? Is she anxious for the baby to become a better playmate? ;)

Thanks, GT! Eleanor’s doing great. She’s been very helpful.

Hope y'all are doing well today and off to a great start on your weekends! I've got one of my 2018 Guardians SFOs in Ebony riding in the pocket today! Stay vigilant out there! :)

Good luck, GT! We had to renew the registration on both our vehicles in April, which should’ve been easy enough; three months later, we still haven’t received the new stickers. It’s been an ordeal. o_O
