Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

What do they do to you at Wound Care to make a tough old bird like you despise it so much, ED??:( Hang in there one visit at a time, I guess!:thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs - Well GT, When the doctors took the bone (fibula) out of my leg to make a new jaw bone, they cut me from my knee down my leg to my lower ankle. The top part has healed but that hollow part of my ankle where the wound is really deep has not healed as yet. What they do is dig into that wound and remove any what they call "sluff", and the loose part of scabs.:( When they're done with that, they "manipulate" my ankle to ensure that the ankle movement is not compromised. Bottom line is that it hurts - even a tough old bird like me.;) On the nights after "wound care", it's difficult to get any shuteye even with a sleeping aid.

While they're doing all of that, I usually have my Pere David "Lil-un" with me to fondle.

Thanks for the info, ED.:thumbsup:
I wondered if they had to "help" you with some range-of-motion stuff on leg and/or jaw that might be painful. I'm surprised you haven't squeezed some finger grooves into your stag knife during the manipulation! I had no idea that the leg wound would heal so slowly. Hang in there, sir!

Your ebony looks exquisite, enhanced by eggplant!:thumbsup:
Thanks, GT. I am also "enhanced by eggplant" this season. I've never had a garden produce quite so well as this year, and I've got a pile of it I need to cook soon before it goes bad. (I guess being at home enough to remember to water is the key)

Hang in there, Modoc ED Modoc ED !

I'm not sure I want to hear the details, if Ed is complaining, it must be pretty horrendous!

Another good one Gary

No problems Jack! I quoted this one and had to requote it! Jack that's one thing that I can say has been flawless during this pandemic! All my deliveries and regular mail service have been 100%. Credit to the services for maintaining great service. I've had several deliveries from UPS, FEDEX and of course daily USPS with absolutely no problems. :)

Yes, your mail service seems to have managed a lot better than ours has Ron. The Royal Mail were very slow to adopt safe working practices, and a lot of postal workers have been off ill, or even died. The courier services here have never been good. I know that in the US, a lot of folks use them in preference to the USPS, but here the UPS, for example, is nothing more than a franchise corner-shop keepers buy into, delivering packages when they get time, they're a shambles. I just got my outstanding deliveries from the RM, but the postie told me there has been another outbreak in the local sorting office, which accounts for the problems over the past week or so :(

You ARE a tough old bird Ed, I hope it doesn't go on much longer for you

Not hungry this evening, so I'm just having something light to eat. I don't think I'm in any danger of wasting away  They reckon the average weight gain during the lockdown here has been 7 1/2 lb, and I think I've put on about half that myself

A very cool foto, Harvey! Do you play guitar as well?
I don’t play guitar. Back in the day, I lead sang and played blues harp.

Another artistic shot, Harvey! Great mix of colors and textures!:):thumbsup:
Thank you Dennis.

Some of our latest pull from the garden.
What a bounty you harvested with your beautiful Horn Lamb Foot.

Thought I'd go with my Rosewood Big 'Un for Wooden Wednesday.
This un and your collection is smashing.

so now I slip past on the other side of the street without him seeing me! :D
Mean, but funny.:D

Harvey, thanks for the info on the knife and the beef sticks and for the CJ compliment. :)
Your SamDamLamb is looking very senatorial!:cool::thumbsup:
Thank you GT.

My 2017 Guardians horn knife, aka Lam Jack, is in my pocket this week:
It is nice, you posted it twice.

While they're doing all of that, I usually have my Pere David "Lil-un" with me to fondle.
What an ordeal. May it become a distant memory, one day soonest. That’s a sweet looking Pére David, Ed.

Good Afternoon Guardians

Thank you my fortunate friend :) Great pic  Sometimes I give my neighbour a shout when I am already heading past on the other side of the street. He actually works in the Royal Mail sorting office, and his terrible eyesight might explain a few things  ;)

Don't worry, Jack.
I think I've put on my 7-1/2 and your missing 3-1/4, so we average out nicely. :D

LOL! :D I'm surprised I haven't put on more, what with the biscuits and beer!

I've mostly been drinking traditional British styles of ale recently, but I found this lurking at the back of the fridge, what I think of as a Taylor ( tmd_87 tmd_87 ) Beer, and I quite like a Taylor Beer ;) I'll have to look what else is lurking in the fridge :D

Jack Black Jack Black . You have saved me asking you a question, was reading your post about your mail service, handy to know in case i need to send you anything. Hope everything will get back to some sort of normality eventually, but it may take a fair while. Maybe covid -19 is going to be the new norm on how we live our lives, i hope not, but who knows. Anyway to all the guardians, have a good weekend, stay safe and look after yourselves.

Sorry to hear about the quotes Dylan :( Wow! What an incredible collection you have, each one a superb example of the pattern I think  Fabulous photo my friend :)

That is an impressive collection, Dylan.

Impressive flock Dylan! :)

Thank you so much, fellas! Every one is a treasure and I'd be sore to part with any of them.

I thought I would gather just the horn clad ones for a shoot this evening.

Absolutely fantastic photo Dylan, some great-looking horn there  :)

Good Morning Guardians, hope everyone has had a reasonable week. Hard to believe it's July here, looking out of the window at the miserable weather. It's been a strange year for all of us, and my sense of time has been thrown right out anyway. Hope we're going to get some sunshine before Autumn arrives, last year it started raining in August, and didn't stop until the end of February  Another weekend is upon us, so have a good one folks, particularly those of you who are still working. I'm hoping to get out for another hike tomorrow, get a bit of fresh air in my lungs. Stay safe Guardians

Wow Harvey! Talk about a fortune cookie! I can’t believe you got one that said “You have a deep appreciation for a Lambsfoot knife!” ;) :D
