- Well GT, When the doctors took the bone (fibula) out of my leg to make a new jaw bone,

they cut me from my knee down my leg to my lower ankle. The top part has healed but that hollow part of my ankle where the wound is really deep has not healed as yet. What they do is dig into that wound and remove any what they call "sluff", and the loose part of scabs.

When they're done with that, they "manipulate" my ankle to ensure that the ankle movement is not compromised.

Bottom line is that it hurts - even a tough old bird like me.

On the nights after "wound care", it's difficult to get any shuteye even with a sleeping aid.
While they're doing all of that, I usually have my Pere David "Lil-un" with me to fondle.
