Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I was up and out to the local Farmers Market by 5am this morning. With the heat index in the triple digits for the rest of the week I will not be out too often during the day! We are putting up a lot more fresh produce this summer. I'm afraid it's going to be a rough winter, in more ways than one! :( The old PD stag big 'un will see some action today for sure! ;) Y'all stay safe out there! :)

Well done Ron, I hope you can keep out of the heat, having done a good morning's work. Your PD Big 'Un is a solid worker

Thanks Jack! It is a worker! ;) I am definitely staying out of that heat! An old man like me doesn't have any business out in 100°F + temps! Here's another shot with the beans! :D

LOL! :D Another cool pic Ron :) Enjoy the rest of the day my friend :)

Good Morning Guardians
Nice photo of "Wolfy" taking a sip of coffee

A beautiful knife, and a wonderful gift, Rob :) It's nice to see that photo again, here it is here in Yorkshire :)

Glad to hear it Dave :)

Nice choice Gary :) Those are interesting photos, I generally think that natural light gives a better photo than flash, but in lower light conditions, good focusing and a steady hand (or tripod) are more important. When I get back from my hikes, I often find that I have more photos where the knife is out of focus than where it is o_O

Good Morning Guardians, heading down to the market slightly later than usual to avoid the rush-hour, but I'll be off soon, with my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket :) Have a great day Guardians, and stay safe out there

Hope you have a good day at the market Jack. With your HHB in the pocket it's bound to be a good day:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Ron. is that some Okra I see there? That llambfoot will make short work of it. And the green beans too!:D

Good morning Guardians. Jack got me stoked so I am grabbing my HHB today and heading out shopping. Great sunny day but also hot and muggy here in southern NC.:)

That is okra Bill! ;) What beautiful stag on your HHB my friend! Have a good day and stay safe! :)

"Lil-un" with Buffalo Horn this morning

Good looking horn, ED; great example of why they sometimes call the marking "feathering"!:thumbsup::cool:

...
Thanks Gary :) Spring was excellent here, with the sunniest May on record :) Unfortunately though, we couldn't go anywhere! o_O  Sounds nice there my friend, we were getting those sort of temperatures a few weeks ago, but it's been into the 50's some days, with lots of rain :( Supposed to be fine at least tomorrow

Painful! I've seen bone covers destroyed when dropped from that height though  [/user]
I hope you get a lengthy stretch of typical summer weather soon, Jack. :)
I think I'm quite fortunate that there wasn't more damage when I fumbled my Lam Jack.:rolleyes:

...
Thanks, GT! Eleanor’s doing great. She’s been very helpful.
...
Good luck, GT! We had to renew the registration on both our vehicles in April, which should’ve been easy enough; three months later, we still haven’t received the new stickers. It’s been an ordeal. o_O
Good to hear that Eleanor is enjoying big sisterhood, Barrett!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Not so good to hear that your MN DMV dealings have been less than ideal. :(

...
Good luck to you, GT.
The DMV is a maze of red tape in the best of times. :(
Thanks, John. I guess I'll soon learn how much skill I have as a masked maze runner!

Thanks for the compliment Gary! Lam Jack is still a great knife even with the small blemishes! :)
Thanks, Ron; you're absolutely right! :):thumbsup:

Well, I gave my HHB the day off yesterday. Today back in the pocket.:)

Your stag HHB is pretty as a picture, Bill!:cool::thumbsup:

Bewitching burl wood handles, José!:cool::thumbsup:

I never noticed until this photo that bread crust can look quite similar to stag!:cool::cool:

That's a knife of our dreams, Ron & Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

G,day all. How are all you forum members from America going, just watched an afternoon news service here and the scenes and numbers of the Corona virus are just frightening, i honestly do not know how you are all coping. I am concerned and thinking of you, please take care.
Thanks for your concern, @cudgee! :)
The pandemic situation in America is frightening, and embarrassing (but maybe not surprising).:(

...
For now, the building has mainly been on the Leeds side of the village, with the countryside between Pannal and Harrogate largely untouched, so I thought I'd go for a hike there while there is still some green space to walk in.
...
Eventually we emerged into an ancient lane alongside fields, filled with newly-shorn sheep, and this year's lambs.
...

We continued along the foothpath, which eventually brought us to the outskirts of Harrogate, where we donned our masks to catch the bus back home
Thanks for the fantastic photos and comments about your hike, Jack.:thumbsup::cool: Very enjoyable to see the variety of surroundings through which you passed; about how far did you walk?
Gorgeous stag lambsfoot with damascus blade!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I admire your Three Amigos, Ron!:cool::thumbsup:

Awesome horn, Gary.;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, José. :)

...
There must be some very inconsiderate cyclists in the Harrogate area, because there are miles and miles of footpaths, which can barely be walked anymore because they've been ruined by mountain bikes. The paths end up being turned into six foot wide mud slides. ...
There is a short path through a wooded area that's on my way to work. It doesn't take bicycles very long to chew up that path!

Good Morning Guardians.
Time for my Recycled Sunday Lambsfoot picture...
One of my favorite shots of Sköll, John!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Without getting into the politics of leadership (and the lack thereof), I'll say Americans are a stubborn bunch, and Texans only more so. I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better.
...
I fear that you're correct, Rachel. :(

...
Oh, I remember The Osmonds! :D My sister spent several years swooning over Donny! :D But bizarrely, I once had an encounter with him in Sheffield! ...
Great story (and video), Jack! :):cool:

All the guys were wearing leisure suits back then! That's the only one I ever had. Bad decade for fashion.:p:D:cool:
Remember Nancy Reagan's "Just say no to drugs" campaign from the 1980s? I took that to heart, but tell my students that I've expanded it to just saying no to fashion as well.
Were you old enough to have a Nehru jacket, Vince? ;) I never had a leisure suit, although my mom sure wanted to make me one.

LOL! :D I never took to aftershave, but I still got bought it at Christmas. I used to give it to a friend of mine. After several years of this going on, he told me he didn't wear it either. When I asked him what he'd been doing with all the expensive after-shave I'd given him over the years, he told me it made the toilet smell nice! o_O
I also received "popular" aftershaves at Christmas, but never used them. My dad used Old Spice, and if I ever used aftershave, that's what I'd use. I still think Old Spice had a cool bottle/decanter.

We should start a band. ;)

Jake is my most used Lambsfoot.
You and Jake ought to take your show on the road, FBC!:cool::cool:

Here's a pic of my '17.

Never wore a Nehru jacket, though I liked them. They became popular around 1968? Wasn't old enough to buy my own clothes then. I did wear some Indian style shirts as a teenager sometimes, and even wore a dashiki for awhile. Very colorful and very comfortable!

I hope you’re planning on frying some of that okra, Ron! ;)

I know we have some Guardians who are comic book enthusiasts, so here’s a trivia question for you:

Wolverine’s claws are made of bone fused with which metal?

A) Adamantium
B) Sheffield-made Carbon Steel
