Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, happy Friday! We are preparing to make a permanent move back to Mo. Of course there's a long list of things that have to be done in the next month and with this oppressive heat it's going to be tough. Almost 9 years to the day we will be moving back during the hottest time of the year, we aren't good at timing moving:rolleyes:

You are welcome Jack, glad you still enjoy the Blackwell :thumbsup: thanks for the compliment, old yellow is one of my favorite knives of any pattern :thumbsup:
I have the same approach to photography Rob  :D  Thank you my friend, I treasure that old Alfred Blackwell :) Lovely photo, that really is a fantastic example of the Lambsfoot pattern

Preparing for stag Saturday

Back with my Hartshead Barlow, after a record two days without it  ;)
Such photogenic stag on your faithful stag HHB, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

A pic from back when Jake was shiny as a new penny.

Great example of Knew Knife Knostalgia!:thumbsup:;)

World class foursome, ED! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yep, puppies require a lot of attention. We got a new dog last week too, but she is a couple of years old. Tiny thing. Long-haired Chihuahua. Well behaved.
Congrats on your new dog, Vince! :):thumbsup:

Worthy vintage trio, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on the colorful stag, Harvey!:cool::thumbsup:

Splendid photo of some of your various forms of stag, José!:cool::cool:

I've been enjoying your many pics of your trip "rolling down the river", Dan!:thumbsup::cool:

...
Old faithful, my Pére David Big ‘un is in my pocket today! ;) Y’all be safe out there! :)

Great shot of your "glowing coals" ironwood, Harvey!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks like you're putting your big ebony on a pedestal, Rachel!;)

Got 18 in yesterday and it was only 96 degrees F out on the links:D. Another scorcher today coming:eek:. Looks like sunny weather for the rest of the week but those pesky pop-up thunderstorms are always a possibility.
...
You're playing some hot golf, Bill! ;)
I got drenched on a walk earlier this week when a thunderstorm popped up. :(

It's slimming too. :D
Just look how thin the blade looks...
Those knives are sable stunners, guys!!:eek::thumbsup:

...
I've been quite busy today, I had some work to do (actual PAID work! :D), then cut up some more cardboard and put it in the bins, sorted out a load of camping stuff, did some household chores and tidied up a bit, got a shave and haircut, fixed my cooker door, as the rubber seal had come loose, and after tea I worked out a new tarp set-up and got everything together, put the bins out for collection tomorrow, made some sandwiches for my trip to the market, and got some stuff together to take with me. Still got a few things to do, but I'm going to sit down with a beer first :)
...
Sounds like a busy, productive day, Jack! I'm sure your efforts were facilitated by that ultra-capable rosewood HHB!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Nice choice Gary :) Those are interesting photos, I generally think that natural light gives a better photo than flash, but in lower light conditions, good focusing and a steady hand (or tripod) are more important. When I get back from my hikes, I often find that I have more photos where the knife is out of focus than where it is o_O
...
Thanks for the photo comments, Jack. :) Your stag HHB always looks especially good to me in the outdoors pics!:cool::thumbsup:

Okra-homa,
Every night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk
And watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky.
We know we belong to the land,
And the land we belong to is grand.

I carry a HHB Lambsfoot because I can't decide what flavor burrito to eat....and I wasn't hungry enough to eat 3.
What about you? :D
Have a really really good day y'all!

Good morning Guardians. Jack got me stoked so I am grabbing my HHB today and heading out shopping. Great sunny day but also hot and muggy here in southern NC.:)

Grand photo, Bill; I really admire the deep canyons on the pile side of your stag HHB!:cool::cool:

Never wore a Nehru jacket, though I liked them. They became popular around 1968? Wasn't old enough to buy my own clothes then. I did wear some Indian style shirts as a teenager sometimes, and even wore a dashiki for awhile. Very colorful and very comfortable!
Vince, you are so much more fashionable than I ever was or will be!! ;):cool:

...
Pretty as a picture. :cool::thumbsup:
Thanks, John. :)

Stay safe, everyone!
Matt & @cudgee, those jigged bone WCLFs are perfectly pulchritudinous pocket knives!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks again buddy, that walk was only about 5 1/2 miles. It was easier on my old feet than the walk into town this morning though

I'd almost forgotten about my Donny Osmond encounter :D I guess I must have told my sister about it, but she must have been over him by then as I can't remember her going crazy, as she would have when she was a teenager

That's funny Gary :D My uncle used Old Spice, he was in the navy, so maybe he liked the ship on the bottle! :D

Ace photo of Lambar Jack :)
...
You packed a lot of diverse landscape into 5.5 miles, Jack: creek, village, fields, woods, pastures ...:thumbsup::cool:
Hard to believe anyone could forget an encounter with D.Osmond! ;)
My dad couldn't even swim, so I don't know how he became an Old Spice man!
Thanks for the photo compliment. :)

Two great looks, GT.

Salute!

Thanks for your encouragement, Harvey. :)
Striking glossy photo of your Venture!:cool::cool:

I have photography issues too Gary, so I take about 30 pictures and hope 1 turns out good enough to post. Using the camera on my 6 year old phone I can't expect much:D

Nice shot of your LamBar Gary:thumbsup:

Got a decent picture of this old Lamb today. Hope everyone had a good Thursday and planning on an enjoyable and safe weekend

Your vintage white lambsfoot pic is a winner!:thumbsup::cool:

Good Morning Guardians! :) As expected, I didn't get my early night  The pubs here (some of them at least) re-opened a fortnight ago, and last night was my first night out since before the lockdown. It was quite interesting to see how things were.

I thought I'd carry this Old Friend today, my 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot in ebony, a once-regular carry, which has been out of my pocket for far too long. Have a good day Guardians

Thanks for your fascinating account of your return to the pubs, Jack.:thumbsup::thumbsup: I wonder how many things will never get back to the way they used to be?
Great to see you carrying that fine 2018 ebony Guardians lambsfoot; those are fine knives!:thumbsup::cool:

Good Morning Guardians

Fine Black Friday choice John :)

A little rainy here today, hope it clears up for camping this weekend.

I hope so too Chuck, pitching a tent in the rain is no fun. Hope you and your Lambsfoot have a great time

Still working on the bathroom rehab.
At least the air conditioning is cranked down.
Enjoy the weekend Guardians View attachment 1379481

Thank you kindly :) I think a lot of things are going to change for good Gary, pubs have been closing down for years here, but that will be accelerated dramatically by the current crisis, and once they're gone, they'll most likely be gone forever, along with many other businesses :( Thank you the compliment :)

My lambsfoot companion through Sunday is LamBarJack:

Great to see LamBar Jack again :)

Thanks pal, smashing pic of your H.M Slater
Many thanks, Jack.

Having done some research online to see which establishments were open, me and my pal walked about a mile to a large pub with a substantial beer-garden.
Probably the worst “Pub Crawl” on record. Sorry. New World Order.

I thought I'd carry this Old Friend today, my 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot in ebony
A good handsome choice, Jack,

Congrats on the colorful stag, Harvey!:cool::thumbsup:

Happy Friday, Guardians. Hope all have a pleasant weekend ahead!

I think it was r8shell r8shell who received a similar package a while ago and gave me an idea... If they'll ship to Texas, maybe they'll ship to Alberta :D

And not to add controversy, up to this point we've been a Lea & Perrins household. Hopefully they can cohabitate in harmony ;)

Lee & Perrins house here, too, but I'm hooked on the Henderson's now.

I would hate to think I wasn't planning on it! ;) :D

God stuff, Ron! Just let me know what time dinner is. ;) :D

…before having a final pint in my garden, where the beer served is both better, and considerably cheaper

:D :D

Thanks for sharing about your outing with us, Jack. Hope you had a good time, even it wasn’t quite “normal.”

It's the ole Harrison today. The earliest Lambfoot I have. Enjoy your morning.

Yeah, should have stayed in the garden! I wasn't that bothered about going, but my mate was chomping at the bit. There's more I love about the pub than good draught beer, there's the atmosphere, the 'snugness', the friendly banter with strangers, being able to relax like you're in a second home. All of those things are now lacking, and may not return for a long time, and who wants to sit outside in the cold and rain we see so much of here? I can't say I'm that bothered about repeating the experience :( Thank you my friend, that's another striking photo :) Is that a flashlight there with your DamLamb?

Great to see you here Mike, I was just thinking of you last night :) Nice move on the Henderson's, I hope they didn't sting you too much (about £1.50 or so a bottle here), and that you enjoy it :)

This is the sort of pub I miss The Fat Cat in Sheffield, pie always on the menu, Henderson's on the table, great beer brewed next door :)

Lee & Perrins house here, too, but I'm hooked on the Henderson's now.

Glad you've taken to it Rachel :)

I really like this blade shape, on my next to buy for sure!

Look forward to seeing more of you here :)

Oh my! Where has the day gone? I hope y'all are doing well today! I've had this Venture H.M. Slater today! :)

49994607256_660b81f6d2_c.jpg

Where has the week gone?! :D Nice to see your Slater again Ron :) I'd not noticed before, but that's a very 'clean' blade etch isn't it? Do you think it could be a laser etch, or maybe an acid etch, which a lot of Sheffield cutlers used to use? Stan Shaw used to be friendly with the Slaters, and even did some work for them in the past. I think he still has contact with Mrs Slater. The firm's very basic website was still up the last time I looked, though they have not traded for some years now
