That's a heart warming post Jack, I'd hate to tell what's on the menu tonight :p
Monday a beautiful horn Big'un showed up in the mailbox. Will post pix when I get some decent light, I've been under the weather and unpacking from a dive trip, seeing the beautiful horn and shiny new blade on my second Labmsfoot put a bright spot on my spirits and mood.

 :D

That's good to hear Duane, hope you had a great trip my friend :)

Today, I sit with the Guardians!

This file work!

The scales match really well, smooth long-pull, file work, and a super slice-y blade make for a great knife.

Not sure if I should use it or keep it to look at...J/K, I’m gonna use it often.

OK, Gaurdians, I’m ready to play.
I had been seriously contemplating a Lambsfoot for a couple of years, but had never pulled the trigger - mostly being hesitant about ordering from unknown source. But about a week ago, one came up on the exchange, and I could resist no longer.

In anticipation of its arrival from across the pond, I read through most of this thread. I have very much enjoyed the history lessons, the enthusiasm, and, of course, the pictures throughout this immaculately maintained thread.

Here are some pics of the recent arrival, though I found the depth of the horn really difficult to photograph - a sentiment that seems to have been echoed throughout this thread. My plan is to carry it for the rest of the week, and report back with my thoughts.

Cheers,

I've neglected to welcome our new Guardians, my sincerest apologies.

Welcome, HST HST and Nature Boy Nature Boy ! Glad to have you here and I really hope that you take to the pattern/blade as much as we all have. You both have terrific looking knives, that stag/filework is exceptional, HST HST , and that horn looks incredible, Nature Boy Nature Boy , lots of depth there, it would appear.

I am looking forward to hearing more thoughts from you fellas as you get more familiar with the blades.

I am carrying this one today. I find the pile side to be more attractive than the mark side, so it gets photographed the most often...

Me too Dylan

That is another great photo my friend :)

I'm also carrying my ebony Lambsfoot today

I always read this thread enthusiastically :cool:, and while I walk to and from bus stops, I often think about items to post here. But I seldom seem to find the time/energy to actually post the items I've considered! :(

For now, I've subcontracted most of my Guardian duties to one of my minions. Here is a K9 guardian of my rosewood lambsfoot; Gandalf the Guardian:

Thank you, Jack. I always enjoy seeing your ebony as well, my friend.

I switched the ebony out for some beautiful horn today.

Thanks Dylan, that's another great pic my friend :)

Hope you're loving the Lambsfoot Mike

I always enjoy your contributions GT :) Thanks for showing us Gandalf

Nearly the end of the week folks :) I'm carrying the old Alfred Blackwell, which Rob very kindly gifted me, again today :)

Made a switch last night, so this is my knife for a few. The more I use it, the more I like it.

Last night’s dinner. I washed it afterwards, but no patina.

Jack Black Jack Black I see your OD green and Lambfoot.

Good stuff my friend! :D

I think that is common to like the pattern the more you use it. I hope you'll grow to like it more and more :) The polished blades generally patina more slowly than the unpolished ones, but in my opinion, the patina is more interesting and attractive as it begins to develop

Welcome Nature Boy Nature Boy and HST HST . It’s great to have more folks discovering what a treat a Lambsfoot is to carry and use.

Once you get a nice edge on it, cardboard boxes—even a big pile of ‘em—are no match. :)

Cool pic Greg :) Bearing in mind the number of Lambsfoot knives I sent across the pond a couple of weeks back, I hope we'll be hearing from some more new folks before too long

OK, so I am totally in love with this knife! Jack must have known I am a Gemini, because this two faced Lambsfoot is a perfect knife for a schitzo like me :)

What a great slicer, and the Big'uns fit my hand like they were made for it. I've had a lot of fun with this one already, listening to its raspy song as it sings its way through paper and cardboard. Love the point for tracing cuts, and even pocking holes in sausages to let 'em leak out while they sit on a hot grill :) I could see myself getting a regular, (smaller) version to play with or carry as a secondary knife, they are pretty addictive lil beasties. Guardians, I've been admiring your fine knives for a while, and I finally post to ask for consideration for Guardianhood. May I present to you my latest work, and a rare one, being 1 of only 1 ever produced: a GEC produced, Welsh (that's me) ground #15 Lambfoot knife with a 440C blade.

I gave the spine as much downturn as I could and still open the knife without widening the EO notch, since I had to loose the nail nick.
