Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Great to see you and your Hartshead Dwight!
Thank you Ron and happy belated birthday!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:. What are the scales on that? Whatever they are they look fantastic.
Well, I'm gettin old and I swear I cannot remember for sure. Rosewood maybe? May need Jack to help me out on what those scales are. Thank you sir anyhow!

Thanks for sharing those Jack, looks like a great day out. Yorkshire at her finest and fruitful. It's looking quite green there but the leaves are beginning to turn around us now.
And is that an ancient cross in the second to last photo?

It was a good day, thanks David, and that bountiful hedgerow was an unexpected colourful delight :) The leaves are still green here, but I've spotted a few stray 'conkers' on the street already. Well spotted! Though, that ancient cross is actually one of a pair of posts, made from girders, and festooned with old car tyres! I did find them rather curious, particularly as there was no actual gate, but didn't take a photo I'm afraid. I did photograph this nearby sign  I wonder if Lara Croft lives there?! :D

Your memory isn't so bad Dwight ;) Rosewood they are, actually Indonesian Rosewood, though the character on Dwight's example is unusual

If there was any doubt that i was losing it, i am just about to dispel any of those doubts.o_O
Just want to prove how popular the Lambsfoot thread actually is with facts and figures. I would doubt any other thread on the forum would be able to match these numbers, there may be one or two that have bigger numbers but they have been around for a lot longer.
Since it's inception on June 26 2016.

What a cool pic :)

Good Morning Guardians! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Sunny here again today, but I have quite a few jobs to do in and around the house, so I doubt I'll get further than the garden. Have a great Sunday Guardians :)

I didn't know what it was. Did not look like Rosewood, i thought it may have been some sort of bone or horn. Glad you explained what it actually is, they look fantastic in that photo.

It's an interesting example, and unique from that run I think :)

Your HHB is looking great as usual Jack and I hope your weekend continues to be a good one for you:thumbsup:

Good morning Guardians and a fine Sunday to all. The hot and humid weather cooled down a bit and so it was very pleasant last evening so we dined outside on the Cape Fear River. There was a nice breeze and no insects:D:D:D Had my trusty HHB once again at my side.

Thanks a lot Bill, it's very warm and sunny here today, they're saying it's going to be in the '30's this week, not sure what that means in 'real money' ;) I'm glad you're enjoying the weather there, your Hartshead Barlow looks to be enjoying it too :)

Just had my Sunday Sausage Sammich, and I'm off back outdoors to do a few things in the garden :)

Looks like a very nice hike Jack :)

Yesterday we went for a walk too.
At a fork in the trail I decided to go left. My daughter reminded us of a low swampy area up the trail but I said " Nah ... don't worry about, it's all dry by now "
After struggling a bit to get around a couple of muddy areas we came to an impasse and could not proceed any more.
My daughter made sure to remind me that she wanted to go RIGHT  at the fork. :D

But we found these huge mushroom I had not seem before.
Some of them were the size of a " pelota de futbol" ( soccer ball as we spell it in Spanish :D )
After a little research  it looks like they are Puffball Mushrooms , edible they say but I am not about to try them.

Cut the puffballs open. If they are white all the way through, with no black or brown, you are good to go. Cut them into steaks half an inch (13mm) thick, and saute them in butter. Add salt and pepper and enjoy a feast.

Thanks Dan, it was :) Expect to be reminded of that, from time to time, for...er, the rest of your life! :D :D Nice Puffball

About one year ago I took photos of some of the same/similar wild fruits around here.
