Hope you enjoy your autumn-like weather Jack. The photos of your HHB are as always fun and interesting.

Good morning Guardians and all. In one of Jack Black Jack Black 's posts he mentioned autumn-like weather...must be catchy because we're having cooler weather here in the Carolinas today. The temperature is in the 70's (degrees F):D this morning. Sure feels better than waking up to the 90's (with equal percent humidity). My HHB is in the pocket once again.;)

Thanks a lot Bill, glad it's a little cooler for you too my friend, though I was quite happy with the sunshine here :) Nice, clean pic of your Hartshead Barlow

I had my Sharpmaker out to touch up a few blades, including my Rosewood Big 'Un. My Hartshead Barlow didn't really need any attention, but I thought I'd give it a tickle anyway ;)

As the old saying goes.."You'll never get cut with a sharp knife".

I got it, Jack.

Thank you Gary, that's very greatly appreciated :)

I have a [] knife with a blade worn to a lambsfoot profile. This isn't it.

LOL! :D

Thanks for posting this Jack! It reminded me that I was going to order some Henderson’s and give it a try! Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me I’m hungry too! ;)

I hope you enjoy it Ron, but also that you don't have to pay through the nose for it

Good morning Guardians! There’s some great Lambsfoot knives and photos posted this morning! I’m carrying my Waynorth Jigged Bone today! ;) Y’all stay safe out there! :)

I think I will enjoy it. I’ve not checked the price lately on Amazon. I’m sure it probably fluctuates. Thanks for the compliment. Charlie’s Jigged Bone models are really special! Unless we luck on a nice vintage example there’s nothing to be had in bone for us Lambsfoot lovers! :)

80th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain today

Another great piece of engineering

Thee best piece of engineering Jack.
Just a heads up, I caught three programmes about the Battle of Britain which I recorded but I'm sure will be available on catch-up telly.
BBC4 on the 14th: Spitfire. 1.5hr documentary.
ITV on the 15th: Flying for Britain with David Jason.
BBC1 on the 15th: The Battle of Britain (the one were the actor Ewan McGregor flies a Spitfire).
I've not watched them yet as I want to settle in one evening with a few ales and appreciate what they did.

I'm pretty sure that was the case. I don't remember the reasoning.
Our clown imported starlings so that Central Park would have every bird mentioned by Shakespeare.
9ypS4Si.jpg

I didn't mean to say that red squirrels were imports to the US; I thought they were indigenous.
Could be wrong.

Really? So they infested New York 'cos of the Bard?
A bit like Australia then with rabbits and foxes. 'Cos that was a bright idea some moron had.
Sorry, I misunderstood you. Over here grey squirrels have sort of become dominant (to the point that in some parts of England there's a bounty on them), forcing the reds out of the deciduous woodlands.
The reds are now mainly only found in pine forests. So I just automatically assumed that reds wouldn't be indigenous to North America due to it being home to the pesky greys.

Thanks again David! Nice sausage my friend! :)

It was thanks. :)

Thank you kindly David. :)

Your welcome. It's great work.

I always thought I'd seen a red squirrel as a young child, as I can remember my mother pointing one out. The older I get though, I wonder if she was just talking rubbish, as her knowledge of flora and fauna wasn't great  :D

Aye round where I live we never had red squirrels. There's a sanctuary for them up past Crosby in Merseyside. I've lost count of the times I've been, but I've never seen them there either.

You're not pregnant are you???:eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused::D:D:D:D:D:D

Not last time I checked. :D:thumbsup:

I've just been using this hole-cutter to do a job. My mate with the tool-stall got a few of them a while back, pretty old, and not commonly seen here. I think he has one more left, so I'm going to try to remember to get it off him tomorrow, as I'd like to have a spare

Cracking. Installed a kitchen with them a few years ago and seriously they made the job ten times easier.

Cheese on Toast for lunch, with a good splash of Henderson's of course ;)
