Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians! We’re getting some rain and cooler weather here in SE Tennessee today. It’s due to the outer edge of the hurricane as it passes to the SE of here. I’m planning on taking it easy and I’ll be carrying my Ironwood big 'un this morning! I hope y’all have a great day! :)

How far are you from the Hurricane.? Hope you staying safe and don't get the flooding rains. Thinking of everyone in either the Hurricane, Flood or Fire zones. Stay safe all.

Good Morning Guardians and anyone else looking in. Hope everyone has a great day.

I've got to go visit my nephew in the hospital later today so I thought this "Lil-un" with Pere David stag covers would be appropriate for a hospital scene. He's got advanced stage-four cancer. He has a tumor on his spine that grew so large that it shattered two of his vertebra in his spine and paralized him from the waist down.

Beautiful Lambsfoot Ron :) Stay safe

The Welsh are said to be stingy also, even, or maybe especially, among themselves.

Really? I'd not heard that Jer - possibly because Wales is a little further away from Yorkshire, and we already have Lancashire to blame for everything! :D ;) I guess there are folks with short arms and deep pockets everywhere! ;)

Hope everyone has been having a good day. The weather has been nice here today, bright and sunny, but not too hot. I had a good lunch with my pal, and a good day hanging out on the tool-stall :)

Too tired to cook ;)

Sorry to hear that, Ed. Will pray for your nephew.

Compare that to Henderson's (nobody calls it Hendos in Sheffield), which 20 years ago, you couldn't even get a few miles outside Sheffield! :D

LOL Sorry Jack, I've not a clue why I wrote Hendos; I guess I've heard it somewhere. I will desist and correct anyone else I hear using the word.

Cheers David, that does look good :)

That must have been a treat  I always regret missing the 'Bouncing Bomb' fly-pasts out at Ladybower (near Sheffield), I was always busy with something else, or if was cancelled for some reason :(

Nice beer Jack.
Yeah they cancelled the flypast of Derwent on the 75th anniversary of the Dambuster raids.
The reason they gave was "20mph crosswinds". I told my mum and she replied "they didn't cancel any of your grandad's bombing runs in the war because of a breeze". :D

I mentioned my former brother-in-law's dad, Jack, who flew Spitfires and Hurricanes, and probably a lot of other stuff, the other day. Jack regularly carried the pistol he'd been issued, even though he wasn't supposed to, but eventually handed it in to the police in a firearms amnesty in about 1990 (such a shame). I never saw the gun, so I hadn't realised it was a Smith & Wesson automatic (no idea what model), which rather surprised me, when he told me. Jack explained that it had been issued to him in the USA, where he had done some of his flight training

Lol! One of my grandad's mates was ex-SOE and Jedburgh Team D-Day. Apparently he always went armed with a suppressed pistol. :D:thumbsup:

Today.

The village of Remsen City was highly Welsh. There was the old Welshwoman who was willing to sell Mom and Dad some land, but it would be just between us, no need to write anything down, just pay me every month and I'll tell you when to stop.
And that dammed old Welshman who ended up paying Dad about a nickel an hour for painting his house, because he kept adding colors.
Anyway, Welsh seemed to be a relevant part of their descriptions. Not without a note of Welsh admiration.

I’m a long way from the hurricane! We’re just getting some weather from the remnants as it heads towards the east coast! Thanks! :)

Thanks Jack! :)

Oh man, that is so sad. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Hope he’s a trooper.

I find it hard to browse this Guardians thread cause all I want to do is light everyone’s inbox on fire with “whats the model number?” “What an amazing knife!” “Killer horn on your lambsfoots, Jack Black Jack Black !!”
Mine is still in the mail. Slated for monday delivery...It’s killlin me! Haha.
Lambsfoot is one of my favorite blade shapes. This thread is amazing, and I feel like i havent even scratched the surface of this 2211 page thread. And yes, I started at page one. Haha. :D Hope you all have a fantastic day!

ETA: so if ya’ll get a “like” on a post from years ago...it’s probably just me. Haha

He is!!!! Despite many more downs than ups, he's still managed to keep a sense of humor and has not wallowed in self pity. I know this will sound terrible but we expect him to pass in the next couple of days. His three daughters came into town last night and they're why he's been holding on - to see them one last time.

One thing about being super passionate about knives is it transfers to other thing for me as well. My heart breaks for you.
Children are a blessing, and I’m glad you have gotten time with him. However, that sentiment doesnt make it easier.
I’m sorry.
