Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks a lot Ron, I think my search for a better keyboard is going to have to wait until next year now, so I can go into an actual bricks and mortar store and test a few out. I'll see how I go on with this one, but I might even have to go back to my old one. I had a couple of older ones I regret throwing out now - like just about everything else I ever throw out  ;) Nice TEW buddy, I find the older cover material more satisfactory than the recent stuff, which is a much harder plastic, and less comfortable to use. These knives are great candidates for re-covering aren't they?

Nice Wooden Wednesday choice Ron :)
They are great candidates for recovering Jack! Thanks for the compliment. Have a nice trip to the market! :)

Thanks Ron, I appreciate your kind thoughts. After I came home from the doctor's visit I went downhill. Lots of swelling and uncomfortable but after waking up this morning it's better and I can now see light at the end of the tunnel:D...literally!

Good morning Guardians and all. Back with my Ironwood again. Battery died on my camera so it's re-charging right now. Recycled photo I'm afraid.

I’m glad things are going better for you Bill! Nice Ironwood! :)

 :D

Thanks Ron :). That's my African Rosewood that Jack gifted me

I am off for the next two days to unwind a bit, catch up with with some chores and go for extra longs walks with my wife :)

A peaceful lambsfoot pic is in order to prepare :).

( car oil change, finish preparing for winter etc )
Dan that Rosewood is so deep and dark I almost thought it was an Ebony Model. Enjoy the time with your family! :)

Was it the Smothers Brothers who sang of a woman with a world map tattooed all over her body? "On her knees was Greece."
But speaking of typewriters, I still fantasize about doing fieldwork in the jungle with this one.

It was Jer :) How about this old classic? :D

That's a great typewriter, reminds me of similar ones I used many times when younger (and thought myself the height of sophistication). For years, I actually used to write my articles long-hand, and only type them when I submitted them! In fact, with some newspapers, I didn't do that, you'd ring a guy, and dictate the piece to him (lot of typos)! It's certainly a lot easier now :D

Thank you for the kind words Jack, I appreciate them my friend !

Have a wonderful time Ron, that's a fantastic pic :)

Thanks Ron :) Sadly, I have had to cancel my trip to the market due to a couple of courier deliveries arriving today, which is frustrating. I rent a mailbox to avoid such situations, but this year, they have not looked after my mail at all, and actually shut up shop completely for six months! It didn't stop them invoicing me for next year's rent (which isn't even due until February)! I rang my pal with the Tool Stall, and it seems that I am missing a good crack, and lots of bargains o_O

Good morning Guardians, looks like I'm going to be stuck in the house most of the day unfortunately, which I'm far from happy about, having spent the past month very socially isolated :( I hope everyone is doing OK, and keeping well. Have a good day Guardians

Jack, I and my wife & son are socially distancing too.:( Hate being cooped up but things are getting worse here in the USA. Heard that the UK has approved a vaccine - hope it works for everyone. We need some hope for a better future.:)

Good morning Guardians and all. Frost is covering everything this morning. Not a normal sight where I live. Sun is out bright so it will be gone by 10:00 AM EST. Getting some office work done this morning; which I hate:thumbsdown:. However, my HHB was the first knife I grabbed so things are looking up:D.

Sorry about you having to miss a visit with your friends Jack! Sounds as though your mail and parcel deliveries are hit or miss! So far, I can say our local services have all been stellar throughout the pandemic! Hopefully can you salvage a good day with your Hartshead! :)

I hope he saved you some.

Speaking of old film, I saw something last night I never could have imagined I'd ever see. Poor PBS is continuing their never-ending pledge drive, and they were showing footage of Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing a duet based on a derangement of Little Drummer Boy. Pretty sporting of both of them, I thought.

Bill I totally agree with you about things getting worse in the USA. In SE Tennessee where I live it’s actually worse now than it was in the spring. Unfortunately we have more positive cases and deaths. :( There’s no sign that it’s letting up. I’m afraid we’re in for a grim Christmas time for us all. Stay safe with your family! That Hartshead has some of the best stag of the lot! Of course they were all good! ;) :D

Good morning Guardians! It’s another frosty morning here. Pam is working from home today. She’s in the office and I’m sitting here with Big Eb trying to find something encouraging on the news! Unfortunately it ain’t happening! :( Y’all have a great day! :)

It's not a lot of fun is it Bill? :( Even though it's cold and raining here, I've opened the windows to try and get some fresh air in  Thanks buddy, I guess we'll have to see how it goes. Good luck to everyone there, take care folks

I have certainly done a fair bit of office work myself this morning, so it has not been entirely wasted. A Hartshead Barlow always brightens my day ;) :D Cool pic Bill :)

The Royal Mail hasn't been so bad, I even gave the postie £20 for a drink, but a lot of firms are hiring inexperienced poorly-paid couriers, and they're a law unto themselves o_O The main trouble I've had is with my mail box service, and in fact I've sent them another two very stern emails today. They've been a disgrace, both @herder and @Campbellclanman sent me packages, early in the lockdown, which were returned to them because the people I pay to look after my mail had completely lunched out  I'm still waiting in for this courier, and while I resent missing my day at the market, at least I'm not missing a nice day, as it's rotten here  I'm glad to hear everything has been good there Ron :) "Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"

I've never been a gambler, but I thought I'd have a flutter on next year's calendar  Hope, unlike this year's, I actually have something to put on it o_O

That’s too bad about the packages Jack. At least they were returned to the senders and not lost or trashed somewhere! Nice calendar Jack. I hope we can all have some positive experiences and trips in the next year! :)

Good luck with that Ron! ;) Big Eb is looking good buddy :)
The news is not so promising, but Big Eb is a comforting worry stone! ;) :D

Thanks Ron, I'm afraid that a number of other packages were lost completely :( Some great pics inside the calendar :) Cost a bit more than I usually pay for what is, admittedly, something which is largely obsolescent functionally, but hey, you got to treat yourself sometimes! :D I'll drink to that buddy :) Well, I will later! :D ;)

Not a bad worry stone either, in these troubled times  :D ;)

Not as bad as the Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash duet on Girl from the North Country.

I wish I'd had Clark Gable's moustache! :D In fact his looks/money/love life! :D   That system was just coming to the end when I was using it, and you got some old guy, who sounded like he was bored to tears  I've always written far more for magazines, rather than newspapers, so in the 'olden days', I used to actually send my copy in through the mail, with the photos to go with it :D

He told me not to worry, next week is only seven days away

If that the one I'm thinking of, I thought it was dire Jer! :D I always feel sorry for the folks who work in shops and supermarkets at Christmas, where they have the same dozen songs playing on a loop. For every good anthem, there seems to be 10 rotten ones! I have had to run out of places to escape Johnny Mathis, for example, and they've not had my custom as a result of the trauma! :D Great pic Jer, you're jumping in with both feet my friend, I haven't even found the lights out yet

Not as bad as the Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash duet on Girl from the North Country.

I think I'm going to take your word on that Vince, rather than have to suffer it on YouTube! :D
