Yes, there was nobody else there, as usual. They're security crazy, there's even CCTV cameras in the woods! That's sad... they probably pay more for the security guard than they get from admissions.

May heaven requite them. Thanks JohnI had to add a new one to my CV yesterday, getting thrown out of a church!
I've mentioned the Harewood Estate before, a vast private estate built on money from slavery by generations of a ruthless and corrupt family (who still owned plantations in the Caribbean until 1975, and were still being compensated for having to give up their slaves until about 5 years ago). There are suspiciously few public rights of ways through their land, and while they suck up every grant and hand-out they can get, access is only allowed to most of the estate on payment of a fairly steep admission charge. I've visited the 14th century church many times, and have never seen another soul there, but it seems, contrary to what I'd always understood, that's owned too, and when I visited yesterday, a security guard told me that access is now only permitted to those paying an admission charge!

Anybody can heat fries, and make a sandwich Bill!It might not be an authentic chip butty, but it'll get you in
Or you could just go to your local cafe and ask them to make you one, what's the worst that can happen?!

It's a wonder you were even allowed to take that photo. One thing i have learnt about " security " over the years is their inability to compromise and make reasonable decisions on the run. It they were told no one is to take any photos and they saw a ninety year old lady on a walking frame taking a photo they would put her in a head lock and call for help. Not all of them, some of them are okay, most just in it for the quick cash. See what i did there, covered my own ass first.Isn't it just?!
And the winner is the young girl in the last video, if only for pure enthusiasm. But her knowledge on the construction of the " Chip Butty " was outstanding and her ability to keep us entertained first class. I thereby declare her the Winner.Just sayin'

Ignore all that stuff about needing butter for a chip butty Jer, the vast majority of chip butties here are made in fish and chip shops, where they 'butter' the bread with margarineIt might have to be a chip butty.

I was running a bar at Glastonbury festival about 10 years back Leon. A Scottish guy turned up to do the security, wearing mirrored shades. When our feller was operating 'The Cow' , which pulls a dozen pints at a time, the security guard sidled over to ask if he might have a pint. It turned out he had only got 'the gig' because he was looking for his drug-dealer that morning, and the mirrored shades were to cover up his eyes! It's a wonder you were even allowed to take that photo.
