Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I think you're probably right mate! :D If you're ever in Wakefield, there's an antiques centre in The Ridings shopping centre, where a bloke called Pit-check Pete has a cabinet devoted to pit memorabilia. He has lamps, pit-checks, and a few other things. His prices aren't cheap, but they're not like on that site!
Cheers Jack. No plans for a Yorkshire visit anytime soon though unfortunately.

Sorry to hear that David, hope it wasn't too badly damaged :(
Dinged the covers.

Hope you have a bright future my friend
Something will turn up. May go back to working on farms actually, especially as all the foreign labour ran for the hills.

Smashing pics David :)
Cheers. Northern Rail are still doing that Leeds-Chester train (for now at least).

with a burger and a pint at the end of it ;)

Pint and a burger. That's called a 'result' :) Great pic!

This African Grey has flown a bit off course, hope he's made it home

It is just after 7AM here on Monday morning the 11th of October, at 7AM i put our project into a 6% solution of Hydrogen Peroxide. I will check it every 12 hours to see what is happening. I have a benchmark to check it's progress, 3 days, this was the amount of time i left my previous experiment soaking. It will be interesting to see what happens. Hope you all have a good week.:).

I would call that a heart attack waiting to happen.
Good morning Guardians,
It's been awhile since I posted but I stop by when time allows. I hope all are healthy and staying that way. My entry for today

And a second picture for good measure
I hope not! Good to see you here :) I still use hand drills far more than electric drills
Cheers Jack. No plans for a Yorkshire visit anytime soon though unfortunately.
That's a shame mate, but understandable
Dinged the covers.

You too Leon, looking forward to seeing more of your experiment

Cracking! Where there's one, there's usually a hundred. There's flocks of them in the parks in London.
That's a bargain. Old tools are the best tools. That was taken on an old box full of my dad's (and grandad's) old tools. As a few folk have been using old tools as their backdrops on here recently I thought I'd start doing the same.

So I've heard, I guess London is nearer Africa! :D ;) My mate always gives me a good price :) Good idea David

I doubt we'll have many days, here in Yorkshire, this year, where you go can out for a walk in your shirt-sleeves, and not feel the cold, or the rain. I had plenty to do at home today, but as it's a bright, sunny day, it seemed criminal to waste it. I decided to catch a bus to the edge of Leeds, and walk 2-3 miles through the woods, with Lucy. Photographing her dazzling Ironwood, in the bright, low, sunshine proved difficult, but we had a nice walk, with a burger and a pint at the end of it ;)

ey up its not looking so grim up north,it was at times when I was a kid in Whitby.

2 questions.

Have you discovered Altberg boots,I expect so.

The mining stall you mentioned have you ever seen a snap tin there?

LOL! By a smidge I reckon. :D

Altberg boots are excellent. Some of their range are made in Yorkshire and some in I think it's either Italy or Romania. They're the current manufacturer for the current British Army assault boot.

They do deliver abroad but Lord knows how the conversion for boot sizes between countries would work out. Before I recently bought a replacement pair for these one's (Altberg Tethera) I e-mailed Altberg to ask them if they'd changed their sizes, (as many footwear manufacturers have in recent years) and was told they hadn't and that they still used the original lasts. But on receipt of the the new boots found they didn't fit and had to replace them. If your not ordering in the UK that could be quite a bind to sort out.

LOL! :D When the subject came up, I immediately thought of you Vince! :D I'm glad you were tempted back! :D How are you keeping, hope all's well? :)
Just fine, Jack, thanks. Was sick for a while back in August with that thing that's been going around, but am fine now. Celebrating 30th wedding anniversary tomorrow, and birthday Wednesday (with Cudgee!). Gonna be a good week!
Californian... and cowboy... nothing pairs better with meat than beans. :D
I love beans. Sometimes have them with barbecue. Also great on Mexican breakfast tacos (had two this morning). But not with chili! A Texan's gotta have his pride, you know.

They are fine looking well made boots.

Cheers they are, but I'm fortunate in that the dealers that sell them offer custom boot fitting service. I ordered the 2nd pair online using the old pair as a guide. Silly me. But I reckon I'm good now until my knees/hips/back permanently give in :D
