It's nice to know that Guy Fawkes Night hasn't been forgotten here! :cool: For the past 5 hours, there've been several explosions a second, and it isn't even 9.30pm yet! :eek: I reckon they'll go on until the early hours! When I first moved here, folks told me it was "like Beirut" here on November 5th. Well, I lived in Beirut in the late 70's and early 80's, and I was sceptical, but I certainly had many quieter nights there, than here on my street on Bonfire Night! :D Hopefully everyone is safe, and long may it continue :) :thumbsup:

Heading out for a walk along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal tomorrow, and a visit to a local wildlife sanctuary, maybe even a chip butty in a canal-side pub ;) So I'll wish you all a very happy weekend Guardians :thumbsup:

Just at the fag-end of the summer, when it was still warm enough to sit outside a pub, having a pint, without wearing a jacket, I was sat perusing this edition of the Havamal, and there was a Cowboy version included. That made me think of JohnDF JohnDF , first of all, of course, and then about knocking up a Yorkshire version! :D So, I quickly jotted down a few verses ;) Norse wisdom for the weekend ;) :D :thumbsup:

Cheers Mike, hope you have a great weekend :) I love that pic, Black Bush used to be a regular pub tipple of mine back in the 80's, but I can't remember the last time I had a shot :) :thumbsup:

That's how english language sounds in Yorkshire. The first day i've spent there a guy in an Irish pub talked to me. I replied i didn't understand gaelic. Me neither he said!
Beautiful place and nice people, but hard to understand sometimes.

Good morning Guardians. Not a nice weekend on tap here in NC. Windy, cold and wet. Looks like a good day to sharpen up my Lambsfoot knives and do some indoor chores. And, later on have a dram of some single malt to chase away the shivers.IMG_2880.JPG
