LOL!That's how english language sounds in Yorkshire. The first day i've spent there a guy in an Irish pub talked to me. I replied i didn't understand gaelic. Me neither he said!
Beautiful place and nice people, but hard to understand sometimes.
Dan.
"You look plain Book, very plain."The plain side.

That sounds like a good way to spend a dull day my friendMake mine whiskey and the knife! To heck with candy - lol.
Good morning Guardians. Not a nice weekend on tap here in NC. Windy, cold and wet. Looks like a good day to sharpen up my Lambsfoot knives and do some indoor chores. And, later on have a dram of some single malt to chase away the shivers.View attachment 1675311
Thanks a lot John
That's a LOT of laundry Gary!Greetings, Guardian Gals & Guys,
I'm about to start the 4th load of laundry today, and I went out for groceries a few hours ago. Almost time for lunch, too; probably just summer sausage and extra sharp cheddar on a bagel. Woke up at 2am today and never got back to sleep, and yesterday I got up before 4am to finish grading some tests I wanted to get back to students on Friday, so I'm thinking I might try to fit a nap into the afternoon before or after mowing the yard. My official lambsfoot carry this week is Cracker Jack, my stag AC:

Me neither Mike, I remember seeing it at the cinemaI really enjoyed Witness! Haven't seen it in years. Might have to track it down and see if it's held up.
Definitely!Sure does. One thing I remember from that film was a fear of getting stuck at the bottom of a grain silo![]()
I was thinking of that movie, too."You look plain Book, very plain."![]()

I saw it in Japan, sometime between '83 and '85. Kelly McGillis made it look an attractive life-style.Definitely!![]()

Before that film, I'd only ever heard of the Amish once, when my younger brother was telling me about something he'd read, but he pronounced it 'Aymish', as if they were a lost tribe of Scots!![]()

It's always good to see you here Mike, and I'm sure everyone is very grateful for the 'likes'I apologize to those of you who received “likes” on weeks-old posts. I was just getting caught up, and didn’t realize I was so far behind…
Here’s a years-old pic of my horn Big ‘Un.

You like us had a major restructure of your whole rail system, in the 70-90's, with many lines closed and amalgamation of rail companies, is that right. ???It's named for one of the many British railway lines, which didn't survive the 20th century
I'm afraid it started even earlierYou like us had a major restructure of your whole rail system, in the 70-90's, with many lines closed and amalgamation of rail companies, is that right. ???
Thanks for asking Mike, but I'm afraid it's still very painful, and weak. I ordered a splint for it in the week, but they sent one for the wrong hand! How's the thumb doing Jack? Getting any practice in?

Great picA Saturday evening dinner in the City.Mr. George decided to join us. Roast chicken and one of my childhood favorites. Sadly it hasn’t been made in San Francisco for years. Oh, yeah a little vitamin V with cran and lime to wash it down.
