Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Greetings, Guardian Gals & Guys,
I'm about to start the 4th load of laundry today, and I went out for groceries a few hours ago. Almost time for lunch, too; probably just summer sausage and extra sharp cheddar on a bagel. Woke up at 2am today and never got back to sleep, and yesterday I got up before 4am to finish grading some tests I wanted to get back to students on Friday, so I'm thinking I might try to fit a nap into the afternoon before or after mowing the yard. My official lambsfoot carry this week is Cracker Jack, my stag AC:

That's how english language sounds in Yorkshire. The first day i've spent there a guy in an Irish pub talked to me. I replied i didn't understand gaelic. Me neither he said!
Beautiful place and nice people, but hard to understand sometimes.

Dan.
LOL! :D I have pals in Glasgow, who I struggle to understand when they've had a few! :D I watched V For Vendetta last night, and I'd forgotten how irritating Nathalie Portman's English accent is in the film. Having said that, it's nowhere near as irritating as Stephen Fry's (genuine) English accent! :D
The plain side.

Make mine whiskey and the knife! To heck with candy - lol.

Good morning Guardians. Not a nice weekend on tap here in NC. Windy, cold and wet. Looks like a good day to sharpen up my Lambsfoot knives and do some indoor chores. And, later on have a dram of some single malt to chase away the shivers.View attachment 1675311
That sounds like a good way to spend a dull day my friend :) I'm just finishing off the red wine from dinner, but maybe I'll have a dram later :)
Good Morning Guardians
Hope Jack is having fun on his hike
I'm just having my morning coffee and reading the forum
Thanks a lot John :) Cold, overcast, and showery here today, and my hike was short, but it was nice to get out :) I took some nice homemade soup out, and picked up some vegetable pakoras in the market, and the nature reserve we visited was pleasant enough, even if we didn't see a great any exciting bird or animal species :) Nice photo my friend, I hope you're having a good day yourself :)

That's a LOT of laundry Gary! It sounds like you've been busy! Sorry to hear about your largely sleepless night :( I struggled to get to sleep myself last night, then woke up at 4.00am, so I think I'll be having an early night tonght. It's great to see Cracker Jack :)

I missed my Hartshead Barlow today, as when I put my hand in my pocket to get my knife, I realised I was carrying my 2018 Guardians Ebony SFO by mistake! I guess there's worse things in life! ;) I hope everyone is having a smashing Saturday :)

I really enjoyed Witness! Haven't seen it in years. Might have to track it down and see if it's held up.
Me neither Mike, I remember seeing it at the cinema :) Harrison Ford looks pretty young doesn't he?! :D

Sure does. One thing I remember from that film was a fear of getting stuck at the bottom of a grain silo :)
Definitely! :D

Before that film, I'd only ever heard of the Amish once, when my younger brother was telling me about something he'd read, but he pronounced it 'Aymish', as if they were a lost tribe of Scots! :D

I was thinking of that movie, too.

I saw it in Japan, sometime between '83 and '85. Kelly McGillis made it look an attractive life-style.

Yes indeed :D :) Of course there's the OTHER Amish movie  ;)

I apologize to those of you who received “likes” on weeks-old posts. I was just getting caught up, and didn’t realize I was so far behind…
Here’s a years-old pic of my horn Big ‘Un.

It's always good to see you here Mike, and I'm sure everyone is very grateful for the 'likes' :) Nice pic buddy :)
I didn't get a chip butty today unfortunately, but have certainly had some very tasty food today :) Usually, when we go to that nature reserve, we walk on a couple of miles to this pub, to have a chip butty  It's named for one of the many British railway lines, which didn't survive the 20th century :( At least the pub is still there

You like us had a major restructure of your whole rail system, in the 70-90's, with many lines closed and amalgamation of rail companies, is that right. ???
I'm afraid it started even earlier :(
How's the thumb doing Jack? Getting any practice in?

Thanks for asking Mike, but I'm afraid it's still very painful, and weak. I ordered a splint for it in the week, but they sent one for the wrong hand! I sure am missing my slingshots, but it makes a lot of simple, everyday tasks both painful and difficult :( Cool pic Mike, and an interesting 'catty' there with your Charlie Lamb

This is what we had, and what we have now.

That really isn't progress is it mate? Very sad :( Good to see your Charlie Lamb
A Saturday evening dinner in the City. 😋 Mr. George decided to join us. Roast chicken and one of my childhood favorites. Sadly it hasn’t been made in San Francisco for years. Oh, yeah a little vitamin V with cran and lime to wash it down.

Great pic :) Glad to see you're eating well :)
This is a real life photo of the Spirit Of Progress that i posted earlier.
