LOL! :D Cool pic Jer :)

Thanks my friend, no sign of the weather improving today, but maybe I can get out for a walk midweek :) Great to see your Lambsfoot :)

Looking good JJ, nice pic :)

Thanks Jon, I had a nice enough day :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) If I don't have to work, Sunday is the day when I usually catch up with any outstanding jobs I have at home. I did all the housework, and a couple of DIY jobs yesterday, but I'm sure I can find some things that need doing today :D Maybe I'll even have half an hour plinking with my slingshot ;) Have a good day everyone, and enjoy carrying your Lambsfoot

Thanks Jack, I am having a very good weekend despite the crumby weather:thumbsup:. Last night we went out to dinner with our neighbor across the street. His poor wife has MS but some new drug she has taken made a huge difference in her well being and she was well enough to go out for some Italian food. It was a very nice time. :)
Sunday sausage sammich with my morning coffee :)

Sunday sausage sammich, a cup of Java, and a great Lambsfoot knife:thumbsup:...doesn't get any better than that!:)

Gaudians! Hope you all are well and enjoying your Lambsfoot knives. I am and just feeling pretty good these days. Got a great report from my Oncologist and Dematologist. It's always good to hear positive things from the doctors.:) Got my good luck charm with me today; my HHB.

That sounds like a lovely evening Bill, I'm glad the new meds are helping your neighbour :)

I enjoyed it Bill :) That's great news about the docs brother, fantastic  Great pic of your lucky Hartshead Barlow :)

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. ;)
Hope you find something fun to do, my friend.
You're not kidding mate, (there's long-term prisoners with better social lives)! :D It doesn't do much for my slingshot proficiency either! I had a short session today, the first since about October I think. I usually have a hit-rate of around 80% for my 1 inch spinner, at 25ft, it was only about 40% today :( Going to take some time to get warmed up again I reckon

Thanks John, the weather has been pretty vile, and I haven't done a lot! :D ;)
Good Morning Guardians
Two hours after waking up, I'm still waiting for my first cup of coffee.
The drip coffee maker was acting up, I tried a couple of times to get it to work, and finally settled on my standard low tech method.
Hope you've got your coffee by now my friend :)

We drink a lot of tea so the kettle stays on the stove but we also keep instant coffee. It’s OK, not great but it works and you can make it as strong as you like. I would suggest picking up a jar and giving it a go. Works great when camping…

I wasn't sure I'd posted as the second I hit the 'post' button, the site went down for maintenance! Hoping things are going to get better

I mainly drink tea, and usually only drink one cup of coffee a day (sometimes two), but I like it very strong, black, and I'm a real coffee snob I'm afraid! :D
I posted a picture of “Patches” yesterday and I felt her older sister felt left out. So here is “Cinna” or Cinnamon-Sugar View attachment 1736869
Awww...:)

Hope everyone is having a good day :) I can't say I've been doing a great deal :D ;)

It'll take a while to get the muscle memory back, but you'll be terrorizing squirrels in no time.

I have some Starbucks single serving instant packets that I keep around for emergencies... they're pretty decent coffee.

I need a nap. Try that.

Wonderful in the kitchen image, John.

Had a sausage sammich myself this morning Jack. 😉👍

Old school always comes through. 😉👍

Been doing some work around here today, started my day with a sausage sammich.98D83CC8-316D-40AF-8101-362A72117D7B.jpeg

No, I like to taste my food. 😁

Thanks, GT. :)
You know I'll find a way to sneak them in periodically.
I know what you mean, John. I like to taste my food, too, but I like some of my food to taste like spicy seasonings. 🤓
I'm always on the look-out for the knife-on-post shots that people post.:cool::thumbsup:

...
Well I hope everyone's Sunday is going well. Mine started off as it should.

Sausage, snow drops, and stag HHB all looking good, David!:cool::cool:

It is quite vexing. There are many solutions. The trouble is finding the right one, Here’s to you finding it.

Good Morning Guardians JB SFO
Thanks for your well-wishes concerning sleep deprivation, Harvey.
Amazing color coordination between your stag lambsfoot and your pancakes/flapjacks/griddle cakes/hotcakes!:thumbsup::cool:

I, like you, enjoy the quiet morning hours before everybody wakes up.
I've never been a morning person, I'm actually quite grumpy in the morning.
This allows me to wake up fully before I have to interact with anybody else in the house.
I usually get between 6-1/2 to 7 hours of sleep each night. Plus I take a 1/2 hour nap each afternoon.
Every once in a while I have your problem, waking up at 3:00 and not being able to go back to sleep.
But it's not regular enough to cause me any worry. If it becomes more regular, I will look at switching beds.
...
Interesting to hear your experiences, John.:thumbsup::cool:
I often wonder about naps and how long they must be to make a difference.

...
We have a lot of cryptic sayings Gary! :D You've mentioned your wedding suit before, that's pretty cool. Just so long as you're not swanning around in your birthday suit :D ;)
...
Do you know Gary, that's just how I've been sleeping these past 6 months, after about a year when I was sleeping better, it's knocking the heck out of me. I'm so tired, I often go to bed at 8am, then wake up around 1am, and struggle to get back to sleep. I hope things get better for you soon buddy, are you still using your CPAP machine?

I don't know, I'd be interested to know. A couple of years back, my pal with the tool stall was asked if he could identify one. He knows more about tools than anyone else I know, and was working with plumbers back in the mid 70's, but he'd never seen one before. I had to do a bit of detective work for him, but the one I got yesterday is the only other one I've seen. When household gas was being introduced, it must have been a massive undertaking, and judging from the catalogues, those things must have been fairly common, but that was over a hundred years ago
...
😁 The "magical" thing about birthday suits is they ALWAYS fit perfectly! o_O 😲 🤓
Jack, I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting the sleep you need either. I've occasionally had short stretches where I had difficulty getting to sleep when I first went to bed, but nothing like that for a while. Now I can't even read when I go to bed because I fall asleep so fast. But the waking up after sleeping for a while and not getting back to sleep is a new and disturbing development, although the past week or so seems to be better. I haven't used my CPAP for a number of years; it just never seemed to make much of a difference for me in terms of preventing me from being sleepy during the day.

So shady that if we wanted to have a garden we would have to take out dozens of beautiful mature trees which isn’t really an option.

😊👍

That sounds delicious Gary. 😋👍
Yeah, the shade sounds more valuable than a garden.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
It was quite tasty!

Cheers GT. You can see the walk I did on this chaps YT vid.
Thanks for the interesting and informative link, David.:cool::thumbsup:

Hey Guardians, our brother Guardian CelloDan CelloDan CelloDan CelloDan has taken a tumble on the ice, and ended up with concussion  Poor guy didn't even have a Lambsfoot with him! I'm sure he'd appreciate some kind words
Thanks for the info about Dan's mishap, Jack.
CelloDan CelloDan , I've been following your progress reports the past week and I'm very glad you're feeling much better!:cool::thumbsup:
As others have mentioned, be cautious and keep monitoring your condition. I've had students and colleagues who recovered from concussions very quickly, and others who had disruptive symptoms for weeks, months, and in one case years! o_O

Went for a hike with my wife, my puppy, and my Lambsfoot...

...
This photo amazed me, John!! 😲:cool: To see so much "new green" in January is totally outside my experience! Do the leaves always start coming back so soon where you live? I remember back in my college days and for several years after that going to the Kentucky Derby on the first Saturday of May and being amazed at the difference in leaf development in Louisville KY and Michigan at the start of May.

There's some fire in that horn, GT. 🤠
...
Thanks, John. :)
One of the first things I remember "taking my breath away" on BF was an oxhorn knife Jack Black Jack Black would occasionally post that had an incredible internal glow. So I was exceedingly glad when my horn Guardians lambsfoot arrived and the mark side horn had something of that same kind of glow near the butt of the mark side cover!:cool::cool:

If clumsiness was a crime, I’d be on the same cell block. Lam Jack still looks great. I enjoyed your depictions.
I appreciate your kind words, Harvey! :)

I'd forgotten about Lam Jack's battle scars Gary, he looks none the worse for them today :)
Nice of you to say so, Jack. :) I do think Lam Jack has fully recovered from his horn shrinkage that first winter. But I know that in a para-military organization dedicated to guarding lambsfoot knives my chances of promotion in rank are slim-to-none after the patio pratfall!:(

I'm just wondering if there's any chance of improving my promotability in another way? Are there "Five Knots That Every Guardian Should Be Able to Tie" on which I could work? What sort of "bend" would you recommend? I've been working on the sheet bend, and the double fisherman's bend, and the zeppelin bend (and wondering why I can't just tie two ropes together with a square knot).

LamBar Jack has been my Lambsfoot of the Week since last Monday. We've had a fair amount of snow this week, so here's LBJ 2 years ago with my new-at-that-time boots (over which I usually wear some 4.5" high rubber overshoes):

Hello, Porch Friends and Guardians! Despite what my lack of recent participation here may imply, I think of y'all often and almost always have a lambsfoot in my pocket. I hope everyone is doing OK and that your lambsfoot knives are getting put to use. :)

I'm starting to dream of summer adventure and you can count on this one or one of its flockmates coming along. :)
