Ever since he was born, my mate's youngest lad has suffered with a whole range of food allergies, which can really make him ill. They hoped he'd grow out of them, but that hasn't happened so far unfortunately. He is vegan, but even some fruits and vegetables make him ill. Despite his severely restricted diet, he's a real sweet kid though, and never complains.

I bought some nice almond and lemon cookies at the weekend, and they were quite delicious. I noticed they were also vegan, so I thought I'd get some more as a treat for the little 'un

As it had stopped raining by 11.00am, I went to the shop, about 3 miles away, and bought 4 packets of the biscuits. I was just about to text my mate about them, when I remembered his lad also has a serious nut allergy

It was lunchtime by this point, and I decided to visit a nice Syrian restaurant that I haven't been to for a few weeks. They still had roses up from last night, and petals scattering the tables - only the former were genuine though, which I realised when I was taking a pic

Falafel with tahini dip, hummus, bread, and a pot of mint tea, for under a fiver (£5 - $6.77)

That lunch looks fantastic!

Aside from a fine image, your tooled leather work is exquisite, John.

Those sort of Middle Eastern cold mezze dishes are great if there are a few of you, so you can share multiple different dishes Done well (ie not bought from the supermarket), falafel and hummus are delicious John, if you ever get a chance to try them

Thank you Harvey, I hope so Not long before the pandemic started, I took the family out to a nice restaurant. When the waiter came round, the older kids were happily ordering whatever they wanted, and then I heard this little voice enthusiastically say, "Just (baked) beans and chips (fries) for me please!" He was just as happy as his siblings

LOL! Mine didn't cost much Harvey. It's not much of a knife either, but I didn't have an example of that particular bolster on a Lambsfoot, and thought I might be able to get someone to recreate it at some point

The wind has been blowing all night, and there is heavy rain, and strong winds forecast from lunchtime.
