Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm also seeing the Red Xs recently, Barrett.
FWIW, if I Control-click (on a MacBook using Safari) on Pt-Luso's Red X, I get the option of opening the image in a new tab, where I CAN see the image.

(I suppose that's an improvement over the Blue Boxes with White ? that I often see instead of images in posts here; some of those I can open in a new tab, and others seem impervious to all of my attempts to see the image.)

I also often find "partial images" that are the width of the screen but only about .25" high, and for many of these, if I click on the little ribbon of image I can see, a new window opens in which I can do some simple image manipulations. If I zoom in there, the image expands to fill the whole space, and I can then close the window and see the entire image in the original post. I feel like an apprentice wizard trying to learn which incantations to use in which situations when it comes to seeing photos at BF! But there are plenty of photos that I can see with no extra steps on my part.

Attempting more catch-up in this thread.
Thank you! If you start that thread I’ll be in on that! Have a great eve
Thanks for your "in-concept approval" of my "traditional knives and manhole covers" thread. 😁

I just throw a few in Gary so I feel like I’m eating healthy. 😉👍
Appearances are everything, Todd! ;)
When I was a kid, my Dad wanted nothing to do with almost any tomatoes or tomato products, and my Mom was ecstatic when she could eat fresh tomatoes. Don't know how it happens, but I adopted my Dad's attitude about tomatoes (and my Mom's political leanings, I'd say). But since I was about 25, I've been working on gradually becoming more tomato-tolerant. 🤓

Yes, we are putting it off for now... there is no hurry.
Seems like a reasonable decision.:thumbsup::cool:

A beautiful knife with a well used collander.

Nice house, GT,

Many thanks GT

Thank you GT. It’s a great all weather Lambfoot.

Your Union Jack looks quite Spiffy. Spring is just around the corner,
Thanks for your encouraging comments, Harvey. :)
I think that colander was inherited from my mother-in-law; no telling how old it might be.
We've lived in that house since February 1985 (and there has probably been some kind of interior renovation going on almost continuously since about 1990).
I sure hope your spring prediction is true! Winter is wearing this old man down.

I remember the colander pics! :D :)

Thanks pal :) That's quite a sleep :) In the 80's, my dad used to take nitrazapam on prescription. It never seemed to have any adverse affect upon him, so far as I could tell, but I wouldn't take it myself

Thanks again Gary, I noticed a few more crocuses and daffodils out on Friday, but they were looking a bit 'wind-swept'. I hope spring comes soon my friend :)

Thank you, those 'Bexoid' handles seem pretty tough :)

Who could forget the High Holey Days of the Colanders?? 🤓
Interesting info about your father's sleeping prescription.
You're certainly getting a lot of rain, Jack! Is February often your "monsoon season" or do many of your rains come as "April showers"?
Yeah, I like the "utilitarian beauty" of your Bexoid Lamb!:cool::thumbsup:

I admire the rugged rosewood on your HHB, José!:cool::cool:

That is some awesome Stag on your HHB. I really like the way the Butterfinger colors match up with the colors of the Stag.

Really cool pics of your HHB and the "River Ouse".

Hello Guardians and all. Today we are going to have another great day here in southern coastal NC. Going to carry my new Senator today and borrow a slip from one of my other knives to protect it from dings, etc.

Congrats on that stag lambsfoot senator, Bill!:thumbsup::cool:
I have a similar knife I won in a GAW from a gentleman in Manchester, England, and I've named it Man Jack:

After it stopped raining this morning, having been indoors since Friday, I thought I needed to get out and get some exercise and fresh air. I walked down to my favourite cafe, and had a coffee and a croissant, then walked into town. There's currently a lot of flooding in my area, but the River Aire, which passes through Leeds city centre, widens out considerably, as it does so, having been enlarged when the canal, which runs parallel to it, for many miles, was built. Because of that, while the river was engorged, the flooding wasn't too serious, and since I found myself down at the Royal Armouries, I thought I'd call in, even though I hadn't booked. They were happy to let me in, but the museum was overflowing with children on the first day of a week's holiday, and overrun with costume superheroes, entertaining them.
Thank you very much Todd :) They had a new book out at the museum, a bit pricey at £40, but I haven't spent anything over the weekend  ;)

I enjoyed your photos of your trip to the Royal Armouries, Jack!:thumbsup::cool: Does the book, or the museum itself, show any "weapons-grade" slingshots/catapults similar to the ones with which you and several other Guardians practice?

Threw this in my pocket. Big “storm” rolling through tomorrow, so I got an extra load of fire wood to the house. I’m excited because it’s the first weather we have had come through in a while. We had a great start to our winter season, but it dried out. Hopefully this is a sign of a wet end of winter and spring.

On a side note, I just bought a kit for making mead. My dad and I are gonna try and make some this weekend. Either cherry or pomegranate. I will keep the Guardians posted!
Outstanding knife and photo, Taylor; good luck with the mead-making!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

While we were there, my wife made some chocolate donuts. I showed one earlier, but here is another in its full tasting experience, accompanying a local coffee stout. :D

Good morning Guardians, it was sunny ten minutes ago, now it's windy, and raining heavily! As @r8shell noted in the Lounge, today is Twosday! :D Thought I'd double up my Hartshead Barlow :) Have a good day everyone

Nice pair of photos of the development of your pair of HHBs over the years, Jack; perfect choice for 22/02/2022!:thumbsup::cool:

It's a Palindrome day.
And if you use "American notation" for dates, we've got more than a week of consecutive palindrome days: 2.20.22, 2.21.22, ..., 2.28.22!!:cool: 😁

Watch Out!! Brookes and Crookes!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Don't worry, Jack: I've got your back. I'd put mine in my pocket 15 min before seeing this.
Well done.
Your Lamb is off to a rocky start, John.
see a new collaboration coming soon: Minions Eye Witness. :D
Thank you. That was clever and funny.
Splendid stag HHBs, Harvey and Jack!:cool::thumbsup:

Sounds like a fabulous meal, Jack. And it looks it, too. Yum!
Thanks Greg, it wasn't bad :)
What a productive walk! Glad you had a good time and I hope you enjoy putting all of those raw materials to use.
A couple of the shanks will need seasoning, the other has already been seasoning for at least a year :)

Has everyone else been seeing these image errors recently?

No need for an in-depth discussion here, just curious if the same images aren't showing up for everyone else. I started a thread about it in Tech Support.

Lambsfoot content. 😉

I can see screened porch screened porch 's image (and yours) Barrett :) I've been noticing this was the past few weeks, and it seems very inconsistent - and very annoying! 😠 Cool pic of those three ebony Lambs my friend :)

Had quite an industrious day today :) I was just finishing off some housework, when a friend phoned me to let me know that the Polish community centre up the road were collecting clothing, bedding, toiletries, etc for Ukrainian refugees. It didn't take me long to take a whole load of stuff together, but when we got near the Polish centre, there were cars backed up for a 100 yards, with similar donations. As they were collecting until Friday, we decided to go and get some of the firewood I saw yesterday. Having filled the back of his car up with wood, with plenty left behind for a second trip, he had to go off to a kid's birthday party, so we said we'd go back to the community centre later. I re-potted my basil, (which has actually survived the winter!) did some laundry, and had some lunch. My neighbours two doors up were pruning a cherry-tree, so, as they're quite elderly, I went and helped them saw up the wood. Then I had some compost to take down to a friend at the bottom of the street. I was just heating up some soup, when my friend rang me to let me know that the Polish centre had received so many donations that they weren't taking anymore. Hopefully there'll be more collections being sent over. Think I might put my feet up, and watch a movie this evening! :) Hope everyone else is having a good day

LOL! :D February can be a really wintery month here Gary, but it isn't usually this WET! I haven't checked the forecast, but a friend told me, we're supposed to have several more rainy days this week  Thanks again my friend

Thanks Gary, I'm not sure if they have any of those. The Romans (and many others) made great use of the sling, and there were also huge siege catapults, but the use of rubber for slingshot bands is a relatively recent thing. You might enjoy this video :)

(Seems to be a problem, which I think is probably a BF problem, so here's a direct link)

Edit - You might enjoy this one too! :D

You’ve earned it, my friend. Have a pint while you’re at it.
Thanks Harvey, I'm just freshening up another (hopefully) Ukrainian'bound bundle of clothing in the washing machine, and I'm having a pint :)
Thanks Jack. It’s a weird little feller, for sure.
So many variations of the Lambsfoot :)

This post and the ensuing discussion of HT has been very interesting to read. Thank you.
I and imagine everyone else here really enjoy any discussions about the Lambsfoot. There is a wealth of knowledge here, and any information that we can all learn from is a huge positive. And i mean any information, history, use, production, sharpening, even faults . If thought out properly before putting pen to paper using an old saying, so much can be discussed without transgressing Forum and Guardians rules. Glad you were interested in the HT posts.:).
