Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hope you and your HHB are having a good time, David.

Good Morning Guardians
Thanks Harvey. That was actually a couple of weeks ago; I was in York for something work related.
That's a great pic; I can't figure what that is though. It looks like a huge Haribro sweet.😋

David, your pic of the stag HHB is shocking to me, since I had no idea that York's latitude of about 54˚N was that far north. Grand Rapids, MI, where I live, has a latitude of only 43˚N, and when we drive almost 200 miles north for a summer vacation in Michigan's Upper Peninsula ("Up North" to Michigan residents), the latitude of the town we visit is still only 46˚N! o_O

Thanks GT, I'm always amazed by the snowy photos many post on here knowing that many are 10 degrees of more further south than us regardless of elevation. The whole of the UK sits further north than the entire Lower 48, and indeed the southern half of Canada. My sister in the north of England lives further north than Moscow, and if you swam across the north sea from Aberdeen in Scotland you'd hit southern Sweden. The only reason we don't have baltic winters is the Gulf Stream current that sweeps up from around the Bahamas, crosses the Atlantic and warms western Europe. Without that we'd look like where Barrett lives for half the year. 🥶 It what gives us our temperate maritime climate that us Brits are world-renowned for griping about.:D

Have you ever been inside David? Great to see your Hartshead Barlow out and about :)
Hey Jack, yip I did years ago but on one of those open York type events so I've never been in on one of their night time openings. There were some dates in the window for this year but their website doesn't mention them.

With age comes... I don't care any more. 🤣
And knackered knees. Don't forget the knackered knees...

Morning Guardians. A new week awaits. Hoping everyone is well. 👍

I'm not looking forward to the Gulf Stream fizzling out! ;)

Great pic David :D Have a good one mate :)
They are thrilled about it! 🤙🏻🤙🏻

Thanks Jack.
Fantastic :)
Another fine day here in paradise. Got to get over to my eye specialist and have them check out my new eye glasses. Terrible optical aberration. I definitely can't use them the way they are. One thing that I can use is my HHB.

LOL! :D It's rare I've had a new pair of specs that I DIDN'T have to return at least once  Great pic of your Barlow Bill :)
I'm definitely going to put it on the list. 🤠
I think you'll enjoy it John

I have this too :)

Good Morning Guardians
Hope everybody's week is off to a good start.
Yours too John, nice pic buddy :)

My day has been going OK, I had to go up to the post office, which was wasn't unpleasant in the sunshine. Then I called in at my favourite local cafe for lunch. On the way home, I bumped into a friend I haven't seen in a while, and then a neighbour let me have some of the willow he was cutting down. I took 3 shanks to make walking sticks for friends

Any progress on that walking cane of which you recently spoke?

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend :) I'm afraid I had another disturbed night, due to my boiler issues  Looks like a nice day here, but I have a few tedious chores to take care of before I can go out. Hope your week gets off to a good start :)
Sorry for your boiler vexations, Jack. Hope it gets resolved quickly. Love to see a sample of one of those walking sticks with a Lambfoot, of course. I’m imagining them with one of those Tod Cutler toppers.😂
Thanks Harvey. That was actually a couple of weeks ago; I was in York for something work related.

Thank you David. it’s a quarter century old bottle of Bijan cologne that my wife didn’t fancy much.😂 Love the bottle, though.
Morning Guardians. A new week awaits. Hoping everyone is well. 👍
Went ape over your HHB image. And a good week to you as well, David.

Lucky friends for sure Jack. 😊
Good Morning Guardians
Love your photos Harvey. 😎👍

Looks like your ironwood has been through the wars there Jose.

My knees are fine. For me, it's my back and arthritis in the hands.

The stuffed banana is so funny. 🤣
If it's not one thing it's another. Gorilla told me to tell you hands off his banana! 🐵🍌

Ha! Great film!

Ha! They've been threatening that for decades! At least it would stop it bloody raining for 3 months solid! 🌧️🌧️🌧️

That's the only time I've been inside David :) It was still interesting though
Yeah I'd like to visit on a night time though it would probably be easier to align planets than it would be to time a visit to York with a clear skies. :D

Great pic David :D Have a good one mate :)
Cheers. You to.

Cheers Harvey! I'd never of made that bottle out. My eyes are in as bad a shape as my knees.
Cheers! Another great bakery shot. I've had to break into my ginger nut biscuits 'cos of that. 😋

A bit of light reading.

Thanks Harvey, I hope so too  I just spent a lot of time searching through my pics (I have a LOT). Being long and thin, they don't make for very good pics :D Here's an ash walking staff, which I made in 2020 or '21, one of the first I did, has a compass counter-sunk in the top.

Lambsfoot on a different staff (longer, no compass, different ferrule).

You read my mind on that Tod Cutler item my friend ;) That one will be walking stick size, just need to find a nice shaft. I might use ash for that too, but stain the wood. Ideally, I'd choose blackthorn, but it's not easy to get hold of
Good Morning Guardians
Fantastic pic of your Brookes & Crookes Lambsfoot :)

Lucky friends for sure Jack. 😊
Thank you Todd :) I enjoy making them, when I have time, and it seems to be a nice thing to gift someone. I have made quite a few for friend's kids too :)
Some leftover salmon for lunch today. Have a feeling I’m going to be hungry tonight.
😄👍

Me too mate, but staying overnight in York seems to cost twice as much as anywhere else!
Cheers. You to.
Thanks David :)
