Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good Morning Guardians
I have a small hike with the wife and the pup planned for this morning.
Later today we will meet some friends for Luncheon and Mexican Train.
Mexican train is such a fun game! We haven’t played it in a while, but always have a blast when we do.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Finally had the chance to meet up with fellow guardian M mcc850 . Bonus is I got to nerd out talking about knives on my birthday. It was fitting that both of us had our lambfoots from bigfish64 bigfish64 so he could be there in spirit. Thanks Mark for lunch and I had a blast!
I had a blast also, Jon. So nice to sit with a fellow knife nut and gab about knives. Looking forward to many more lunches with you, my friend. Happy birthday!

Nasty weather in central Texas. Had a tornado warning here for an hour. My two friends at my family’s side. Hope all have a good evening. Texas weather, it’s sunny outside after sheeting rainView attachment 1772437
Shoot that weather! That sounds pretty intense Pete, hope everyone is OK. Great pic by the way, a triumph in adversity :)
Just a quick reply before I go to bed, Jack. I did a search and I think you're thinking of "Seize the day! Seize the lambsfoot!" Does that ring a bell?
The earliest I can find it without "intensive research" is in Dave's signature line in this post from 1 Sept 2018. But the fact that he has it in his sig suggests the phrase had been discussed earlier, although I didn't find an earlier occurrence with my only search so far.

Well remembered Gary  Wouldn't anything added to a sig line be applied retrospectively? I did a search on my phone, in the wee hours, and found a comment by Dave dc50 dc50 close to the same date though (unfortunately, the search function isn't working currently, so I can't repeat it). I read back half a dozen pages, and couldn't find prior use, in discussion, mainly about the 2018 Guardians SFO, but if I get time, I'll have another look later. It was nice to read some of the old posts :)
Ready to shoot that tornado, Tex? ;)

I wasn't expecting to actually go sit in the closet (only room without windows in the house), but after watching that one cross I-35 about 10 miles to the north on live TV, I figured better safe than sorry.
That sounds scary Rachel  Hope all our friends in Texas are OK  Here, the only frightening thing about the weather is the thought of losing my hat! ;)
😅

My storm plan calls for everything so I have a few tools to grab when we get into the safe space. Lucky for us we had sheeting rain. No hail or heavy wind. I am with you. Better safe than sorry. Glad you were okay. 😃

*** we also only have some hall space without windows. Not like up North where you have a basement. Texas basement = solid Limestone
Glad you were prepared Pete, and that you're OK buddy  That rain does sound sheet! :D ;)
Thanks guys, you know the phrase…even a blind squirrel…😊
You're too modest Todd! :D

Good morning Guardians, sounds like some heavy weather in Texas! I didn't sleep too well myself, but that was down to drinking too much coffee, and having too much to think about! We've had several days without rain here, so I imagine a sprinkler ban is already being discussed in the hallowed halls of the Yorkshire Parliament! :D ;) Have a good day everyone, and stay safe out there

Well, depending on the hat...:)

There seems to be a lot of property damage up in the suburbs north of town, but I haven't heard of any major injuries/fatalities.

We get severe storm watches and warnings quite a bit in the Springtime. I felt a little silly, moving the laundry hamper out of the closet and putting a chair in there, then watched this live on the TV:

For Lambsfoot content, I think a Big-un would be best to have on hand for disaster prep. The only question is: Ebony or Rosewood?

It sounds like you are kind of used to them Rachel, I'm glad nobody is seriously hurt  Judging from that footage, I guess a lot of folks were glad to get home

It sounds like your closet is bigger than the small one I have here, I think they decided to call the closet a bedroom! ;)

Scary for sure, Rachel, and something you can never be too prepared for. On a lighter note, I don't think either choice of lamb would lead you astray.

You too, Jack. Wishing the same for those in Texas.
Thanks Harvey :)

Great that you're still managing to pic up those old Sheffield Lambs Harvey

It's been a while since I last had my Spydie sharpener out. Been giving my handmade kitchen knives a tickle, so I thought I'd touch up my Hartshead Barlow :)

Thank you Jack. Hello my name is Harvey, and I have a vintage Lambfoot collecting addiction.🫠 Sharp looking sharpening image.

LOL! 🤣 In solidarity with our storm-tossed Texan friends, I thought I'd open a bottle of Yellowbird sauce, and fry up a couple of sausages to try it on ;)

Texas, you done well! :) Good stuff

I've been reading about your boiler challenges for over a week (and hope that the most recent repair does the trick), but I'm not exactly sure I know what you mean by "boiler". When I hear "boiler", I usually think of a major component of a heating system pumps hot water through pipes to heat a building. I think they're quite common in schools and other "institutional buildings" in my area, but not very many private residences have hot water heating any more. So then I wonder if "boiler" is the term used in Yorkshire for what I call a "water heater", which is the tank used to heat water to be pumped to the hot water faucets in sinks, showers, bathtubs throughout the house.
'Old boiler' is also slang for your wife or a lady who is...'past her prime' shall we say...:D

Sorry to hear about your phone problems, Jack. :(
I recently received a letter from my cell phone service provider informing me that they will be "retiring" all of their 3G service at the end of 2022, and that my trusty old unsmart flip phone will be unusable when that happens, so I need to replace it. Not looking forward to that.

Ahhh that's interesting to know GT. Their doing the same over here. My cousin's fiance is one of the lead engineers on the 5G roll out here in the UK. Deactivating the 3G is for no other reason than to make everyone buy new phones. They also want to deactivate 2G but apparently it's something to do with our national infrastructure.

Good Morning Guardians.
I do regret not picking one of those up. They are particularly handsome knives.

There are several different types here Gary, and I have had two different types. It heats hot water, which goes through pipes to radiators, on the walls of each room, to provide heating, and also provides hot water.
My sister's first husband was a Kiwi. When he came over to the UK he didn't know what radiators were as they don't (or didn't) have them in NZ.

It's 5G, but we're only on 4G in my area

Of course what they claim is not necessarily what is.

Been like summer today so here's a summer pic.
