Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

:)
Eeeek 😱
Careful not to fall under her spell, Jack.
She's behaved herself recently John, but I'm not taking any chances! :D ;)

Good Morning Guardians
The weather is supposed to be spectacular today
I'll be heading out later to do a little fishing, and hopefully some catching.
Have a great time my friend :)

My girlfriend had asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday yesterday, and as I haven't been to the coast for a few years, I said that's what I'd like to do :) Rail fares have gone crazy here, I doubt there's a country in the world which has more expensive public transport than here, and so to save a few quid, I booked the tickets 2 weeks in advance, and bought an Over 60's Railcard, which gave me a 30% discount. Still came to £50 for a 140 mile round trip! When I booked the tickets, we were in the midst of spring, but then winter returned with a vengeance yesterday!

Our destination was Scarborough, a thoroughly unpretentious, old-fashioned, Yorkshire seaside town, for my birthday beano yesterday. I don't know if they knew I was coming, but it was closed!

I really enjoyed your photos and text related to your birthday outing to Scarborough, Jack.:thumbsup::cool:
I wonder if some of the businesses there looked at the weather forecast for a Wednesday in March and decided it was worth opening for the day, since nobody would be "loony" enough to come to the seaside on such a day? o_O 🤓
I'm glad your back held up for your trip; it must be OK if you could handle some of the stairs you showed in your pics! 😲:thumbsup:
Is this the Scarborough whose "fair" is celebrated in old English ballads?

Looking good, John. Looks like you’re certain to catch a good time.
Picked up a cheese & onion pasty in town - got to keep Lucy away from meat! I had it with a a couple of slices of buttered malthouse sourdough, pickled onions, an apple, and a mug of tea :)

That looks delicious GT! Oh and Merry Christmas! 😁

Spent of the afternoon waiting about for my mum to come out of her cataract surgery.

A trio of MG's.

Thanks for the positive comment on my culinary effort, and for the Christmas greeting undoubtedly inspired by our snowperson plates. 🤓
My wife has rules about when the winter plates and dish towels get put away for the season, but those rules are not ones that I comprehend! We're still getting snow flurries at least 2 or 3 days per week, but the forecast calls for less than 2" of snow accumulation as a front rolls through tomorrow morning; I expect the winter plates will have disappeared by May Day. I'm allowed to use this coffee mug year round though:

This one was designated as my personal mug many years ago when I was much more OCD about snow removal from our sidewalks than I am now in my golden years. I used to shovel the snow from the walks, then use a broom to sweep them completely clear of any residue. Now, I usually use a shovel (for deeper snow) OR broom (for dry, light snow) but not both.

I hope all went well with your mother's cataract surgery. I spent several mornings over the past couple of months driving my wife to and from her cataract surgeries (one eye in January and one in March) and post-operative check-ups until she was cleared to drive herself.

Nice photos of the MGs. Looking very spring-like there! Is that yellow "hedge" in the background a forsythia bush in bloom already?

Man Jack has been my lambsfoot of the week since last Monday:

Thank you very much Gary, that's very kind of you :) With the wet weather, I left my new camera in my bag, and just used my old one

Perhaps! :D I don't think they'll last long in a British seaside resort with that attitude though :D ;)

Thanks again my friend, my knees were unusually sore the next day, even though I didn't tackle the worst of those precipitous staircases

It is indeed :)
That looks delicious... Too bad Lucy doesn't share.
Thanks mate :D ;)

I'm a bit concerned about the prospect of going to stay at her ex-boyfriend's castle Harvey! It looks far more forbidding than the one in Scarborough, and I don't want there to be any bad blood between us - or any blood at all!

Cool picture, Harvey. :)
I have one of those knives, but my pins are nicely finished like yours.
Thank you John.
