Meanwhile, we have a bumper crop of Meyer lemons and my wife made lemon bars this evening. We don't eat a lot of sweets, so these are a rare dessert treat.

Good afternoon Guardians, my pal had to go to the dentist this morning, so I said I'd take care of his stall for a couple of hours. I got down there bright and early, with a pullover and my Stormy Kromer coat, to keep out the chill. That was OK until lunchtime, when the sun came out, and I found myself overdressed! :rolleyes: :D A nice day down at the market, but I came back home a little earlier than usual. I hope everyone is having a good day :thumbsup:

I got a decent Feuerhand storm lantern for £3, and half a dozen good quality Army-issue cutlery sets for my friends' kids, at £2 apiece :) Thanks my friend, I had a Triumph Tiger as a young man :) Love that pic Harvey :cool: :thumbsup:

My filter straws aren't arriving till later today. Sipping through a tea-strainer didn't work, but the ancient microwave teapot kept the weeds out of my mouth.

Good luck with the gourd Jer! :D I always think those filter straws look homemade :) When I was a kid, there were always tea-leaves at the bottom of the cup. I still never drink the very last bit of a hot drink :rolleyes: :D Good to see Rose Beast :) :thumbsup:

I'm heading out of town tomorrow to a couple of places long-term members may recall, Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall. Heptonstall, high above Hebden, is a small weaver's village, where an annual 'Pace-egg' play is performed on Good Friday. The play is short, somewhat archaic, a little strange, and quite funny. In between performances, the players retire to the pub, so the performances get funnier and funnier. I used to attend most years, but it hasn't been performed since 2019 because of Covid, so I am looking forward to tomorrow. Couple of antique shops in Hebden too ;) :thumbsup:

I'll be leaving early tomorrow, to catch a train, so I won't get a chance to check in I'm afraid :( I hope others have something interesting or different planned for Good Friday, and that you have a good one :) Going to be carrying my trusty Hartshead Barlow, shown here, helping me to tuck into a traditional Hot Cross Bun :thumbsup:

It is approaching 6AM on Good Friday here, just waiting for it to get light then will go for a swim. Will get a coffee and some Hot Cross buns on the way home. Just want to wish everyone a safe and peaceful Easter whatever you have planned. 💝
