Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I have had quite an adventure today, reckon I must have walked about 7 miles :) I visited Kirkstall Abbey, and had a walk along the river, before going for a pint and a burger, in one of my favourite Leeds pubs :)

Wonderful images, Jack. Looks like a great adventure. Burger and fries looking quality as well
Paging Greg. TXGatorbait TXGatorbait

It may be time to share your fried spam & refried bean breakfast taco recipe with the Guardianship. 😃
Happy to share with this fine crew. Tee up about 4 tablespoons of bacon grease, cut up and sear can o’ spam in one tbls of lard. Remove from skillet and rinse and repeat with remaining swine grease and large can of Bush’s pinto. Let beans “fry” and simmer in skillet, then mash em’ down to get the refried effect. Serve on piping hot tortillas. Add a skosh of shredded cheese and chopped onion, if feeling adventurous ;)
It’s a family favorite, I’ll post up some pics next time I execute :)

I don't eat fancy lunches like Jack. But it makes me happy 😁

Bologna & mustard. I can’t see one or eat one without thinking of my Dad. 👍👍

Me too! My dad liked to fry the bologna first 😋.

Does your bologna have a first name?

[Allusion to 1970's commercial, for you younguns.]
When I was a kid we lived next door to a guy that drove an Oscar Meyer Weiner truck. We had lots of bologna! 😄
He and my dad used to try to figure out new ways to prepare it. Once they put an entire roll on a rotisserie spit and basted it with mustard as it cooked. It was delicious!
😄👍

Fresh pinto beans are better. And homemade (or Mexican restaurant-made) flour tortillas. And ya gotta have salsa and/or chile pequin or chiltepin peppers. Any way you make it, it sounds good!

Thank you Jack, what a mostly pleasant day you’ve had.
Thanks Harvey, it was fun :) Everything is nicer when the sun is shining ;)
Loving your photos Jack Black Jack Black !!!

My Guardian contribution today. Back of the knife picture to show file work...

Thanks Greg, I enjoyed it, not everyday I get a pub meal and a lunchtime pint :)

Thanks for sharing your recipe buddy :)

LOL! :D Brilliant! 🤣
Solid companion Jer

Good morning Guardians, hope everything is keeping well. Nice to see Angry Waiter Angry Waiter get over the Covid so quickly, nice one Pete  Supposed to be in the 70's here today, and I'm off to meet my pal for a coffee, and then have some slingshot practice in the woods :) Got some heavy steel balls to try out, so I might see if I can find a coconut! 🤣 Back with my Hartshead Barlow :) Have a good day Guardians

Good morning Guardians. Could not finish my golf round yesterday - just too darn hot. Reached 97 degrees F with a heat index of 107 degrees. Going to be as hot today with humidity up there too. I have no idea how people in the south coped with this before air conditioning. I remember that my mom and dad had fans everywhere but it was never enough. Guess we just suffered through it. A generation ago they were just tougher than we are now. I will be carrying my HHB today.

That's hot Bill, it's only in the mid 70's here, and that's the hottest day of the year so far. I have lived in temperatures like that, in the Middle East, and it's certainly tough going. I hope you find some shade
Have fun out there, Jack. 🤠
Thanks John, a bit of a mixed bag, as I'll relate below ;)
Good Morning Guardians
Great character - like you my friend! :D

I hope everyone's day is going well so far. My mate is having problems with his car, so I arranged to meet him at one of the big Leeds parks, which is equidistant from where we both live. We had coffee and some fancy cakes :)

The last time I was in that park, I took some photos, of a swan's nest...

Since then, Mr and Mrs Swan have had a happy event :D

We headed into the woods with our slingshots, making for a spot about half a mile in, where I hung up a pop can to shoot at.

We were both firing 9mm steel balls, but I noticed that a big 14mm ball had got mixed in with mine, so I changed to a different slingshot to fire it. I received this slingshot about a week ago, and it came with very heavy bands, but they're a bit too short for me.

The ball went straight into the knuckle of my index finger! Ouch! First time I've ever hit my hand, and I had to pick a big slug to do it with! 🤬 It hurt, but I was very relieved, and surprised that I hadn't broken my hand. It began to swell and colour-up immediately though. As it wasn't broken, I wasn't too concerned, but I decided to apply some traditional Scandinavian salve, which I had in my small first aid kit. This seemed pretty effective, as 20 minutes later, the colouring had gone, and the swelling had gone down considerably.

My mate did some more shooting, and after cutting down the destroyed can, we walked back out of the woods, and my pal went off to fix his car. I decided to go and have another coffee, and a sausage sandwich :)

That is a fancy cake, I bet it tasted good too. 🤠
It did thanks John, though it was a bit fancy for me - and a bit SMALL! 🤣
Glad your hand is okay.
I might need to pick some of that stuff up for myself.
Thank you my friend :) I've only used that salve on small cuts before, but it seemed to work :)
Wilma's natural products are made in Swedish Lapland, and utilise the knowledge and techniques that have been preserved for generations by the people who live and work in the northern forest.

There is an ages old tradition in the north for making herbal remedies from the plants and trees of the boreal forest. Spruce resin ointment has been used for centuries in Scandinavia as a remedy to heal dry, cracked or itchy skin, smaller wounds, blisters, scars, and similar problems. It is also great to use on a dogs swollen or sensitive paws. Very effective and completely natural. Made from Scandinavian spruce resin and bees wax.
