I was looking around on the internet, and there's a couple of chain pubs near me that do an 'Ultimate Chip Butty', but it has cheese on it, and judging from the videos I've watched, it varies in size considerably. It's also 4 times the price of a regular chip butty! :rolleyes:


It turns out the 'battered chip butty' is old news, and in fact it originated in Leeds, in a place called Middleton, (known by the locals as 'Miggy'), about 18 months ago, when it made it into the national press. That's a 1000 calorie hand-grenade I might have to leave for another day! :D :thumbsup:

Hope everyone has had a good day :) Despite the BBC talk of a drought, it's forecast to rain again tomorrow :rolleyes: So, between my back, the weather, and the train strike, I think I might have to wait until tomorrow to formulate a plan. My mate was talking about maybe taking his kids to one of the small festivals, but he's about as reliable as my back! :rolleyes: 🤣 I think I'm going to carry my Hartshead Barlow though ;) Wishing everyone a great Yorkshire Day Weekend ;) :thumbsup:

I could eat that “1000 calorie hand-grenade. In 3 separate meals. That was gross at times (on different levels), but fascinating and educational.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone made it through the week, and that you have something to look forward to this weekend - apart from the prospect of a chip butty, and carrying a Lambsfoot of course! ;) It rained here all night, and has only just stopped, with heavy rain forecast throughout the afternoon, which is going to scupper a lot of plans here. Thank you Bill, some anti-inflammatories gave me a couple of hours respite, and I will be having some more soon. I hope my back will be ok by Monday 🙂 I hope you are bearing up yourself, but I'm sorry you still have a cough, on top of everything else 😕 I hope your wife is fully recovered now 👍

Bill it’s good to hear your feeling better. I too struggled with a cough after Covid. My doctor changed my blood pressure medicine and it helped. If you take blood pressure meds, talk to your doctor. If the one you take is an ACE inhibitor it can contribute to the cough.
