Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Jack,When you run out of pocket room, you can start hanging gear on your galluses.

It’s getting below freezing at night, so I’ve been disconnecting the hose. I forgot last year, the water in the copper pipe froze and burst just inside the foundation, causing some plumbing work for me ~ once I realized there must be a reason for the sewer ejector pump to be running constantly.🤪

I do sometimes do that Jeff (though it is raise a low-hanging sheath) :D

That's a great pic my friend, those pliers have some wonderful character :) An excellent background to your hardworking Lambsfoot

Fantastic! Switched my patch for solidarity.

Guardians I’m off on a busy day. Three appointments in three different city/towns.

Lucky for us the last two are family functions and should be fun.

I have a couple of brothers-in-law who like to share their insane politics at inappropriate times, which is why Mrs Fleschwund doesn’t let me carry a sidearm to family functions.

Have a great time today my friend :) Blood Lamb looks fab, as always

Nice eye Steve, that is an old J. Howarth, which Paul Mason carried as a boy, and which he gifted me a few years ago :) I miss Paul, he's an incredibly talented maker, and a great guy, but the maker's membership wasn't good value for him. Jack Howarth, the last of the Howarth cutlers, owned Wright's prior to John Maleham taking over. John wanted to buy the building, as he already had a business there, but Jack would only sell it to him with A. Wright & Son attached. The second photo below shows Howarth's old Bath Street cutlery works, when they were a bigger firm. My maternal grandparents lived on Bath Street, my mother was born there, and my parents also lived on the street when they were first married, but it was demolished around 1960

A very kind gift from @bonzodog , way back in the early days of this thread, in August 2016. Manufactured by Wright's, commissioned by a UK dealer I imagine, with an extended nickel silver bolster, walnut covers, and a file-worked back-spring :)

One of my most treasured Lambsfoot knives David, a gift from Charlie @waynorth :) Made by William Rodgers, with beautiful jigging :)

Blimey mate, hope you're going to be OK, and back with your pals here soon 🤞 That's some house-sitting gig you took on!

My Peaches & Cream Big 'Un, a lucky find at the factory Harvey :)

Er...Friday? 🤷‍♂️:D ;)

Here's another pic Jeff :)

And an attractive one too Ben :)

Thanks for bearing with me Harvey, I was on my last legs last night! :) I'm not sure I'll be much help, but if you post a pic of the knife open, and a close-up pic of the tang-stamp, I'll try my best :)

The Snakewood Candle-end? I got that out of the 'seconds' box at Wright's Todd, got a few cracks in the Snakewood unfortunately :( That aside, it's a fancy knife

That skinny beardie sure can eat! :D Do you know, I always thought the restaurant was called 'Pieminster'! :D The Raven sounds like a cracking pub Barrett, hope I can get down there one day :) I'm not sure I've ever seen those pies in the pubs up here, but I think they're delicious. I did manage to find one in a supermarket, cost me a fiver, but it was worth it 😋

I'll have to try and get over there sometime Harry :) Maybe you'd like to join me my friend :)

Thanks Harry, I think I should carry it today :) Need to take some more pics too! :D ;)

Good morning Guardians, thank you for stopping us being washed away in the flood, and for your thoughts on the Lambsfoot pics I posted :) I've taken it as a vote on what I should put in my pocket today! :D I was exhausted yesterday, and certainly slept a lot better last night! :D Nothing too exciting planned for today, I need to catch up with some housework this morning, but maybe I can at least get out to Charlie's Cafe ;) Have a good day everyone, it's nearly the weekend :)

Old pic! :D ;)

Really like that old Rogers and we would really like to join you at Annie's Arms but I am afraid that our travels to your beautiful country have ended . We have now passed the age to be able to even rent a car I think .

Thank you Harry, I would have loved to have had a pint with you there, and a pie too of course, but I understand, my own adventures are rapidly diminishing in scale :) In another life my friend :)

Yesterday I was able to get out on a hike while there was still some good light. Between the shorter days and work, this has been a rare occurrence.View attachment 1958725
This is what I have been seeing on my walks recently.

It's surprising how fast the shorter days come round isn't it? There are places that I love to go walking, on the other side of Sheffield, but I can only really get to them, from where I live now, for the day, in the summer months. I've blown it this year I'm afraid! ;) I'm glad you were able to get out for a daytime hike, with your Lambsfoot :) Great pics

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing well, and that you're enjoying the weekend :) Nothing exciting planned here, but I'm going out for a pint tonight, with a mate, so that should be fun. It's very rare I go out on a Saturday night these days! :D Wishing everyone a great Saturday

A mature and sensible approach my friend, looking forward to seeing you back, full-time, soon :)

Nice one Jeff.

Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️

I don’t have a “real lambsfoot” knife. I hope I can acquire one some day. Until then, I recently acquired this one a couple months ago. I think this is my only knife with a lambsfoot blade.
View attachment 1958791
That qualifies here  Lambsfoot blades are almost always single, or with a Pen blade, and only rarely seen in tandem with another full-size blade

Bit of a cock-up on the catering front!

I noticed I had a couple of Cornish pasties in the freezer, and thought I'd have one with some chips. When I got them out, they were smaller than the packaging suggested, so I put them both in the oven, thinking I could always save one for tomorrow ;) I put the fries in, and then 10 minutes later, I added some vegetable fries. Unfortunately, I'd put one of the shelves in the oven unevenly, and managed to put the tray with the fries directly on top of the Cornish pasties! I had the squashed pastie, it tasted OK, but wasn't going to win any beauty contests! :D Plenty of Henderson's of course ;)
