The Butter Fudge had me at “lashings of butter.”Jack Black Found these the other day in one of the local shops where i am at the moment. Not a big sweet eater but i do love British confectionary so had to get some. And some Yorkshire butter fudge, where did i find this, Aldi, have not tried it yet but i'm sure it will be superb.

Sounds nice Rachel, I hope you enjoy the cooler weatherAh, yes! I'm looking forward to the predicted low in the 40s tonight. It'll warm up some later in the week, but winter is on its way. (I sympathize with our Northern friends don't look forward to winter like I do, but Central Texas Winter is like a nice Pennsylvania Autumn.)![]()
Not counting the occasional Snowpocalypse.
You must have been a tough kid Pete! When I was young summer was my favorite. In middle age, I can’t get enough of our mild (mostly) winter
Nice photo ToddGood evening Guardians. View attachment 1962082

Good morning Guardians. Busy day yesterday but very enjoyable at the same time culminating in a fine roasted pork loin that was served by our good friends the Mahoney's. Never got a chance to get on the computer and stay abreast of our forum. Another beautiful fall day here in NC and temperature iwent into the 40's last night. Cold snap from our friends up north.Today I'll have my HHB with me.

Another wonderful tale from the past, as well as a great tour of the Corn Exchange, Jack. Not to mention all the delicious looking food. Or the trip to CC.There used to be a company here called Thornton's, who made the most amazing fudge and toffee, and had shops in nearly every Yorkshire town (turns out they're still going, but just online)Back in the early to mid 80's, I was a youth-worker, and worked out of a community centre in Sheffield. We had a pensioner's group, who mainly played bingo, but would sometimes go on a trip somewhere. One time, they were going to visit the Thornton's plant in Sheffield, and an affable, but over-nourished teenager, (aged 15, Alan weighed getting on for 300 pounds, and I once had to carry him 2 miles, after he sprained his ankle on a camping trip), managed to tag along. They toured the factory, and before they left, were each presented with a 2lb box of Thornton's Special Toffee. Unfortunately, most of them wore dentures, and couldn't eat toffee, so Alan came back with so many boxes they were stacked up in front of his sticky face! About a year later, Alan started going to the pub, and I have never seen anyone who could drink a pint so fast, people bought him them just to see it!

You went all out with the Roberts. Dab+ even. One of the things I had to collect in town was a new DAB radio. I remember having an FM radio years ago, which lasted around 20 years, and cost very little. In the past 15 years I've had 4 DAB radios, and none of them has been inexpensiveI know we're sometimes a bit behind with technology in this country, but I have to tell you we now have colour radio!
