If I could have a bourbon and a cigar in class I’d never retire.I used to smoke in the classroom! Then there was the drinking!

In my second year of teaching I taught in a small high school about an hour from here. Within a few weeks I started noticing students going out the side door between classes. When I looked out there there were at least a dozen students smoking cigarettes between classes. When I said something about it to other teachers they said, “Oh yeah, that’s the “student lounge.” I couldn’t believe they knew but didn’t do anything about it. Times sure have changed!yards from the school, there was a cigarette machine, which was referred to as 'The school cigarette machine'!

Yeah, there was a time every school had a 'Smoker's Corner'!In my second year of teaching I taught in a small high school about an hour from here. The taper is too gradual, but it is there, about 1/8" drop from base of spine to the "hoof". There were some issues when it arrived... This was the first lambsfoot he made (I drew the lines and the knife that showed up wasn't quite what I drew.) But I can exaggerate the angle and take some more off the spine to make it proper.Feel free to post any OLD Lambsfoot content!Beautiful stag on that knife, congratulations, but it isn't a Lambsfoot, it's a Sheepsfoot. Does Flavio Benini sell it as a Lambsfoot?
That’s the nicest stag I think I have ever seenHowdy Guardians! Been a minute since I've had any new lambsfoot content to post. Here's one wearing some really handsome stag from a Brazilian maker named Flavio Benini. Blade steel is 14C28N, which is pretty cool in the sea of CPM-154 that is typical of custom slip joints:

Right, I didn't see it, but you're best placed to judge. I do wish custom makers would ASK if they're not familiar with the pattern, because they frequently get it wrong. You shouldn't really have to start modding a new knife, and you're far from the first to have to take that routeThe taper is too gradual, but it is there, about 1/8" drop from base of spine to the "hoof". Why thank you! It is exceptional and for me makes the knife. That’s the nicest stag I think I have ever seen![]()
I agree. I'm just glad I've been messing around with these long enough to be able to make it right...Right, I didn't see it, but you're best placed to judge. Yikes! Here’s something we used to get as kids, which I believe originated in Texas. (This is an old photo. I haven’t had one in a couple years, as I can’t find them in Minnesota.)
Many thanks, Barrett,That’s a curious Lambsfoot, Harvey. Nice photo!![]()
Funny.The school cigarette machine'!![]()
You‘re killing me, Jack.I also think the pattern itself shows a lack of imagination. I know others feel differently, and it's not a bad-looking knife. Have a good day Guardians![]()
Charlie’s Cafe means your good day is on the right track. Keep it up.Hope everyone is having a good dayGreat weather here, and I walked down to Charlie's Cafe, and then into town to get some shopping

You could and would do a great job, but it’s a wonderful knife as is.But I can exaggerate the angle and take some more off the spine to make it proper.
The equivalent here, quite an old fashioned generic, is peanut brittle, but liquorice toffee has cost me more dental work than anything else!
My favorite in a similar sugary vein is Goo Goo Clusters
