A Lambsfoot is a blade, like the ones you see here. A Swayback is a curved frame. Many Lambsfoot knives have Swayback frames, but not all of them. If you want to find out more, check out post 1, there's a link to a partial thread indexFirst time Iβve ever looked at this thread. Whatβs the difference between a Lambsfoot and a Swayback? Not trolling just not knowledgeable about some traditional folders.

Thanks for a succinct answer. I am trying to broaden my horizons in all knife areas. I am retired recently and have a lot of time on my hands.A Lambsfoot is a blade, like the ones you see here. Nope... Pete likes "lap dogs'.Glad you donβt only allow the big dogs to the porch
I think Angry Waiter is Pete. He just adopted a couple of smaller dogs.First time Iβve ever looked at this thread. Whatβs the difference between a Lambsfoot and a Swayback? Not trolling just not knowledgeable about some traditional folders.
I would say it's the rosewood HHB, made by A. Wright a few years ago as an SFO forWhat would you guyβs consider the grail lambsfoot in case I want to dive deep?
No, a lambsfoot tapers from the spine to the tip. I believe the first page of this thread explains it pretty well.I have a Messar Anchor. Is this pattern considered a lambsfoot?
First, welcome to the Guardian discussion thread! You may want to consider purchasing a paid membership so that you can receive and send PMs. Imho money well spent. Thereβs folks here that have forgotten more about the Lambfoot pattern than Iβll ever know. Mr. Black is one of THEM! Jack Black is Jack.
Welcome aboard.
You're welcomeOkayβ¦.Angry Waiter thanks for the welcome. You too Jack.
I'm flattered TysonI would say it's the rosewood HHB, made by A. Wright a few years ago as an SFO forJack Black - if I recall correctly, I think that only 25 were made? It's the most beautiful of lambsfoot knives. I'd show you mine, but I don't have one.
Jack regularly posts pics of his stag HHB, which is lovely, but the rosewood ones really take the cake.
Please have a read through the early pages of this thread, and familiarise yourself with the patternI have a Messar Anchor. Is this pattern considered a lambsfoot?

Ok, you can't just drop that comment in here without showing us the ebony HHB! You're killing me!I'm flattered TysonI was surprised by the demand for the Rosewood Hartshead Barlows, I thought everyone would want stag!
There should have been 100 Hartshead Barlows, 80 in stag, and 20 in Rosewood. I initially received 97, 20 in Rosewood, and 77 in stag. The cutler produced two more in stag, which have a file-worked back-spring, one of which I have. One of the Rosewood models had a fault, which I think could be fixed quite easily, but I had another one made, and sent a replacement, which makes 21 in total. Unfortunately, that was at the time the company changed hands, and that knife had a badly ground edge. When I went to pick it up in Sheffield, I also picked up a sample for an Ebony Hartshead Barlow, but the blade was ground just as badly, and the pivot was so tight, I had to open it with pliers!
