haha, Bruno's the Man! oh, I mean Dog.My sister and brother-in-law, Peter, adopted a former racing greyhound, they named Bruno. Bruno was the size of a small pony, and the dumbest-looking dog I've ever seen! One day, Peter was making himself a ham sandwich. He spread on some mustard, and went to put the jar back in the fridge. When he bit into the sandwich, all he could taste was mustard. Bruno was stood there, looking as daft as ever, with the ham hanging limply out of the side of his mouth!

I can believe that, Jeff! Thanks, Gary, they are both VERY sweet!![]()
As I'm currently trying to get my Medicare accounts set up, I'm finding these health care horror stories less than comforting! Thanks a lot my friend
I'm afraid there's a lot of that here these days. About 12 years ago, I broke a tendon in my left hand. Rang the doctor's told them one of my fingers was sticking up in the air, and that I thought I might have a broken tendon. Doc said it was a broken tendon and I should go to the hospital. Reported to the hospital, they told me it definitely wasn't a broken tendon, and I should come back in 2 weeks. Two weeks later, I went to the hospital and they told me there'd been a terrible mistake. Since then, despite an operation, I haven't been able to completely close my left hand. But I do have a scar folks sometimes comment on here!
You've really captured the colours in the horn of your Lam Jack GT![]()

Sounds like an admirable plan, Joshua (although the price part may be an impossible dream). Thanks GT! I love this old barn chestnut. One day I hope to get a clip 15 stainless in the same cover for less than extortionary prices.
Thanks for the follow-up info, Dave.Thank you, Sir, I was disappointed at first with the red horn,as it seems most have the dark horn. I kinda like it now, that I got over the red-headed stepchild syndrome
The geode is a fairly large showing of Amethyst which comes from Ontario.
What did your photo analysis reveal? Sure looks to me like you're getting some orange encroaching on the white area as time goes by!Thanks. I hadn't noticed that and I'm looking through some older pictures to see if it isn't just a trick of the light. I don't think I've ever seen any really old stag handled knives with such light areas, so I guess it will continue to darken. Cool!![]()
Great pic of your "dog's head" ebony lambsfoot, Leslie!
Happy to read that you're feeling a bit better, Jack; I hope the back steadily improves! Thanks a lot Rob, it is still hurting, but definitely a lot better today - first time I've been able to cook properly all weekGreat to see your horn '18 out and about my friend

Joshua, I probably read something about this and it just didn't register with me, but this photo was the first time it really hit me that your lambsfoot doesn't have a nail nick on the mark side!!Good afternoon Guardians!

Wow, that costume suggests some new ways to carry multiple knives!!Morning folks, hope everyone is having a great weekendWe have a Bank Holiday Weekend here, so basically two Sundays in a row, this being the first
Probably not particularly peaceful round my way though, since Europe's oldest Caribbean carnival takes place just down the road from where I live. Last year was the 50th anniversary

What kind of hens lay those cool crimson eggs, Dave??
I don't think I've posted this pic before, but this was our grape harvest in July. This was the first year the grapes were ripe before we left town for our vacation. In previous year's we just encouraged our neighbors across the alley to harvest as many as they wanted (and we would get a jar or two of grape preserves of some kind out of the deal
I can certainly sympathize with your construction complaints, Jer; this summer has been one of the worst for that in my city!I'm starting to look forward to Winter, though I don't like Winter. At least they'll have to stop blocking and chopping up every road I want to drive on.

Talk about glamour! Here's my Lam Jack when it was brand new:

Thanks for the comment on my pic of the Lam Jack, Jack. That photo (from back in January) is also one that convinced me that I wasn't just imagining some horn shrinkage at the time, since I thought I could see the ends of the pins standing proud of the horn surface.
This summer, I think the situation has improved, possibly just due to increased humidity at this time of year.

I'm obligated to mention at least one food post in this thread. That's some primo past you've posted with your salutary stag!!
Joshua, I probably read something about this and it just didn't register with me, but this photo was the first time it really hit me that your lambsfoot doesn't have a nail nick on the mark side!!With the EO notch, you always pinch the blade open, or are you a lefty who had a nail nick installed on pile side during the mod of the Navy Knife?? (Do GEC Navy Knives even have a nick?)

I’m pretty excited right now, too because Andrew listed another modded Navy knife that I bought. It is pictured in this thread I think: natural micarta with no bail. Soon I’ll have Navy lambsfoot twins!
Inconclusive. I can see color in the same areas, but they seem much lighter in the older pics. I can't vouch for the color accuracy using my cell phone camera in different light. I'll just have to pay attention to the stag as it ages. What did your photo analysis reveal? Sure looks to me like you're getting some orange encroaching on the white area as time goes by!![]()

Speaking of food...after our discussion some weeks back about how hamburgers are made of beef, not ham, I had to think ofJack Black today when I went to a new sandwich place and ordered a "porkburger." Ground pork, pimento cheese, and cole slaw. I'm afraid I'll be feeling it for a while.
Here are the pictures Andrew used in the sales thread. This one is going to be great!

I might have to redo my signature picture to include dueling lambsfoots (lambsfeet?) behind old Smaug.
That's a great song, Jack. It also reminds me of another dueling musical instruments song:
Josh, maybe if you have two lambsfoot in the pic that dragon won't dominate so much.I might have to redo my signature picture to include dueling lambsfoots (lambsfeet?) behind old Smaug.
Love that part of DeliveranceThat looks cool Joshua
Now that'd be a great name for a tune!![]()
