Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Well, Great Eastern Cutlery requested some detailed measurements for my Joseph Rodgers Lambsfoot (example below), of which they have several pictures. Bill is very tight-lipped when it comes to telling "what's next" but the request has given me hope that there is an "American Lambsfoot" in our near futures. There can be months between drawings and production, but hope springs eternal!!J Rodgers Sons 2.jpg J Rodgers Sons 3.jpg JR measures 1.jpg

A new branch n° in the GEC tree! I hope I'll forget this picture :) and get the surprise when she comes in a future year!
The JR handles and bolsters are awesome.

Well, that’s an exciting bit of news, and a more than fine excuse to get to see your lovely Joseph Rodgers example again. Thanks for both.

Unless you buy one from Goodalls in Malton. Then it's not :D

LOL! That's Boris?! o_O

I remember a few years ago working trauma orthopaedics. Every Bank holiday was absolute carnage and a lot of the injuries were chainsaw and circular saw related. I remember a case a few years ago in the city of Cambridge were some chap bought a chainsaw to cut up a tree in his back garden but he'd never used one before. Anyway it kicked back on him and completely decapitated him at the neck

British bank holidays and chain-saws! What a bad combination!

I knew a Sheffield cutler who took most of his thumb off with an unguarded circular saw. He jumped in his Landrover, went to the hospital, and then went back to work! Not only did he carry on using the unguarded saw, he had his son using it. Probably still like that today!

Folks if anyone is having trouble sleeping then the last thing you should do is fire up your smart phones and laptops. There's some recent research that suggests that the blue light emitted by modern LCD screens very closely mimics the blue light in daylight. This is activating the Reticular system in the brain; the part that controls our sleep/wake cycle. So if you look at an LCD screen in the evening or anytime during the night, your effectively fooling your brain into thinking it's morning, which then activates the brains wake-up functions. This then prevents you from falling (back) to sleep. There's a suggestion that this is the cause of the huge rise in reported levels of insomnia around the world (but especially in the developed world). It is only early research though.

You are right, of course mate!

Thanks Jack, I hope so too my friend! I see no reason to change out those two either Jack! :)

I’m following at least half of your carries for today Jack! ;) Although, judging from the fact that you got yours from the factory, I’m confident that it’s of better build quality than mine. Mine, being a very usable knife, it’s most assuredly is a 2nd quality example. :D

Snap Ron! :D Great choice! ;) I'm quite pleased with mine :)

Your post literally had me rubbing my hands Charlie! I just couldn't help myself! :D It's been a long-time coming my friend, but hopefully your extended campaigning will bear some fruit soon :) Your Rodgers is a beautiful knife :)

I called in at what used to be a cheap and cheerful hiker's cafe for a cuppa and some beans on toast, only to find it was under new management. They're still cheerful - not surprised considering the money they're making - cost me nearly £10! Can't say I'll be visiting again

Labour day weekend, the Canmore Highland Games attracts folks from nearby Calgary and even some from overseas to our small town of 20,000

Cool Dave, great pic, and a great location :)

From my paper today - in view of the family nature of the forum, I had to place that Lambsfoot carefully! ;) :D

That is some great news my friend . One exactly like your Joseph Rodgers will be perfect but even if it only has 1 Rat Tail would be great . Thanks for showing it again my friend .

I figured you’d like that Bigun. You won’t need to be babying that one. Not that you would do that! ;) The meal looks tasty Jack but I’m figuring it’s not worth nearly $13 USD. I thinking a man could have some meat and taters for that cost!

I do Ron :) It was nice enough after I threw the green stuff off, but SERIOUSLY overpriced, and insubstantial o_O

In contrast, a pint and a bag of crisps cost me about £2.50! And you've got all your vitamins and minerals there! :D

For those who don't know, the first US production Lambsfoot has been a real long-term project for Charlie waynorth waynorth :) Congratulations on your tenacity my friend, I've been looking forward to this one for a very long time :) Can you remember how many years it has been now Charlie? This is history in the making Guardians :)

Yes, that was a cheap pint, I usually pay £3 or so, but the sky is the limit these days. I started drinking in pubs about 1974, and I think it was about 15p a pint then. Wages haven't gone up like that!

It's easily been 3 years, Jack. When I first mentioned it, I got a bit of a guffaw from the power that is, but gentle persistence, and references to the Guardians has worked, along with a certain knifemaker's desire to make (almost) every pocketknife pattern ever invented.
The Guardian enthusiasm is infectious!!:)

Fantastic Charlie, yes, it must have easily been that :)
