Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Its been a hang of a time, New Zealand has been hit extremely hard with bad weather- torrential rains that have caused hundreds of millions in flooding damage, then a week later Cyclone Gabrielle decided to visit, and she was not in a good mood.

In my region, Napier / Hawkes bay also very close neighbours Wairoa and Gisborne were absolutely smashed. we went without Power for a week, No communications from cell phones at all, everything was closed and it was a ghost town - like something out of a movie!

People lost their lives - children were lost - houses destroyed then all the animals , horses and farm animals lost in the most horrible manner - wow 😟, Sue and I are the very lucky ones - going back in time and standing over a basin having cold washes, my daughter borrowed all of our camp gear so we didn't have any of our gas cookers at all apart from the little wee one you use to make a cuppa on during a Hike- so that little champion cooked all our dinners etc.

The behaviour of some people during times like this is unbelievable, in saying that though you also saw the good in some people as well, at Traffic lights lights- the communication and friendly waves and giving way was great to see, but there is always the element where somehow the worst people dwell a little lower and burgle evacuated Houses and businesses.
People queueing for miles to get into the one supermarket, then a few days later one gas station opened- wow!! we just kept away from all of the dynamics going on there!!

So with things coming back to normal ( apart form those poor poor families who suffered loss of loved ones ) I am carrying my friend right here.....

Sure am glad to hear you are doing okay. Disasters seems to bring out the best in some people and the worst in others.

Thank you kindly Dwight...such a handsome lamb.

I go to the USA from Canada to mail packages, and this Lamb is always in my jacket pocket!! Takes a half hour each way. I think Jack Black Jack Black was in, supervising Wright's when they made this one - sweet in every way!! ;) View attachment 2098157View attachment 2098158View attachment 2098162
Very nice Charlie :) I was talking about that coin (the one you sent me), and about you, today, to an Italian friend who has a market stall :) His youngest daughter has lived in Vancouver for the past 5 years :)

Bloody Hell Duncan! I had no idea all this had been going on, what a terrible event for people to have gone through. I am glad that you and Sue are alright, and have made it through. I hope that everything can be rebuilt, but that's awful about the fatalities, especially the children :( It's been a hard year already for many people, my neighbour's wife is Turkish, and while her family were OK in the recent earthquake there, her best friend lost 8 family members  I am glad you have your '19 Duncan, and am switching to mine now too. Thinking of you brother. Love to Sue

Afternoon Guardians! When I got home. I found this Rodgers Millennium 2000 Lamb in the mailbox. I've switched over to it this afternoon.

I'd forgotten about that one David, quite a cool collectible  I imagine many folks here won't have seen the Space Lamb, mine was a very thoughtful gift from JohnDF JohnDF

Yes, he died a long way from home :( I remember the delegation coming over when his remains were repatriated

A pleasure Dwight, it's only a small place. When the weather is fine, a lot of people sit out on the pavement. There are a lot of Italians, dancers from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance across the road, and a real mix of local people. It's a very friendly place :)
That's a beautiful pic my friend :)
