Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sweet barlow and awesome picture Dwight.
That's not in Wright's line Ed, I assume the pattern was requested by a dealer. Wright's don't actually know what a Barlow is, (anymore than they know what a Senator is), they think it's a Jack knife with a Clip blade, and on their site that's the only model which includes an extended bolster. When I commissioned my Hartshead Barlow, it caused some confusion at the factory, and I had to explain to them what a Barlow is. It was the first Barlow they've made, and I don't think they've made another since. They've never been a very easy firm to communicate with, and it could be that the dealer requested a Barlow with a Lambsfoot blade, and got that, or that he asked them to double the size of their regular bolster, as I did with some of my Damascus Lambsfoot knives. While it might not be a Barlow, it's certainly an attractive knife, and a very kind gift :) Well done Dan @sf fanatic

Great pics Paul, I hope you had a lovely day :)

That's a beautiful Lamb my friend :)

Congratulations :)

Now, THAT'S a Barlow! :D An outstanding addition to your collection Dwight, love the etch

Good morning Guardians, and welcome to another week :) It's a bit of a dreary start to the day here, but I'll be heading out soon to get on with my errands. I have a package to post, and am hoping to get a haircut. I also need to call in at the dentist, since they don't answer their phone, or return calls 🀨 Better get some shopping too, as my fridge is looking a bit bare  Have a good day Guardians, I hope your week gets off to a good start. Kicking mine off with my Hartshead Barlow :)

It throws guilt at me if I don't pocket it.πŸ˜ƒ

Woke up to a little dusting of snow on the ground. Good ole sun should melt that off by noon. Came in to work and had two donuts sitting on my desk. A pleasant surprise from my co worker :D . Nothing specific planned for the day. Got the trusty ebony lamb in the pocket today. Have a great day everyone.

Ebony is looking good Paul and that's a sweet incentive to come to work.!

Thank you Jack...these HHB's are fine examples of what a lambfoot should be...

What a nice surprise :) Hope you have a good day buddy :)

Hope your week is off to a good start Guardians :) I started mine with a walk down to Charlie's cafe, starting off to buy a large box of madjool dates for him and his family. I was slightly worried when Charlie's attractive sister-in-law thought they were a personal gift, not least since she is married and half my age, but thankfully, she didn't seem too crestfallen when I corrected her, "Por la familia"! :D ;)

After a free coffee, a croissant, and some dates, I set off to the dentist, which is incredibly awkward to get to. After explaining that I had been waiting for a call for 7 weeks, I was practically called a liar by the recptionist, who told me there was no record of this, nor of my prior appointment, nor of the 2 messages I had left last week! 😠 I finally made an appointment, but will be writing to the practice manager about their apparent poor record keeping.

I was now left having to negotiate one of the worst road junctions I have ever seen, anywhere, but eventually managed to negotiate it in one piece, and boarded a bus to town. I called in at the bank, and then the post office, picked up some shopping, and a few things in the market. I stopped to talk to a homeless guy I know, and then caught another bus to the other side of town, where I did some more shopping, and also bought some Bulgarian Lev for my holiday in May (I'd have been better buying them a week ago, because the British Pound is on its backside!).

Next, I called in at the supermarket, where I had a call from Tool Man. By the time I had paid for my groceries, it was after 1.00pm, and I still hadn't had lunch, so I decided to call in at one of my favourite Thai places. I enjoyed a bottle of Change with Massaman tofu, rice, and vegetable spring rolls, but while I was eating, the weather changed, and I had to return home in pouring rain :( Don't think I'm going to be eating much later! :D ;)

I decided to buy some dental cement to include in my travel kit, and was looking at a couple of kits in a local pharmacy. I noticed that one of them contained gutta percha, the material Sheffield cutlers used to beat scabs (and vice versa) in the 18th century. Not knowing that it could be used to repair teeth, as well as the reverse, I was quite amazed to see gutta percha  The pharmacist didn't seem particularly interested :D:thumbsup:

I hope you never have a need for it Jack. Golf balls in the 1850's called gutties were made from that material.
