Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks, guys! I don't know if I deserve it, but I do agree it's the "pick of the litter." :p

I got the runt, the one left after everyone had their pick! :D Was very pleased with it though

I’m just a little jealous of all those who have their new Ashley’s Choice Lambsfoot. ;) But I am however content in my waiting! :D

That's a nice one to wait with Ron :)

A package from England is not common at my house. Luckily, I had an appropriate knife handy for the circumstance.

I haven't spent much time around this forum as an effort to avoid spending money, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for Guardian stag.

I really like this knife. The frame is noticeably smaller in hand and pocket without giving up noticeable blade length...maybe 1/8" shorter. This particular knife also has the best action of any Lambsfoot I have had, and a lighter pull that seems appropriate with the smaller frame.

Very pleased with this one. Thanks for the time that you put into these, Jack.

Glad it made it Archie! :) Excellent 'unveiling' there! To say there is so little difference in size, it makes for a noticeably more pocketable package doesn't it? I also thought the pull was a little lighter :)

Thanks, Jack  It sure is a mystery why the mail is so slow up here? And to add more waiting time, a Strike on the 26th is looming.

Hopefully it'll be better once your next-door neighbour, Dr Evel Von Evil, moves back to Eviland! :D

I happily go back to being a teenager, but I STILL wouldn't have a clue what that song is about! :D
Hey, man, you can't always reduce meaningfulness to, like, literal, verbal, like, words, man.
:D:thumbsup: Yeah, well, I've never been too adept with imagery and metaphor. (I hated that Star Trek: TNG episode in which Picard had to try to communicate with the alien whose culture communicated entirely in sentence fragments that elicited imagery. :( "Marduk, with sails unfurled", indeed! Like that actually means something.)

Exciting stuff GT! Hope it's with you this week :)
...The tracking update on mine is now showing QUEENS NY DISTRIBUTION CENTER!! It finally got to this side of the Pond! :D

Thanks, Jack. :) After no reported movement since Saturday evening, I see that the package landed in my city's "distribution center annex" 2 hours ago!:thumbsup: Maybe tomorrow, or Thursday for sure! Any updates on the progress of your Ashley's Choice, Ron? I admire the stag you already have, as well as your (mostly) patient attitude about the ACLs!:cool::cool:

Yes, sadly it seems that there were in fact NO advantages whatsoever to the last software update, not that I can see anyway, and that we were in fact sold a crock of $&@£ o_O
I'm not as unhappy with the software change as you are, but I'm very unhappy with the various ongoing "threats" to the ability to post photos.

I buy the big bottles when I can GT! :D
:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

My Gawd GT- That's some witches brew! "Now I know why Jack said I bet GT has had that" :D:thumbsup: Although I do remember my dad would have chunks of white bread in a bowl with milk. Somehow I think in a strange way,it was his comfort food.o_O
Re, that particular video of Whiter shade of pale, It is quite haunting, isn't it.
Every ingredient is good, Dave; how could I go wrong??:thumbsup::D

My lambsfoot and I broke down a bunch of cardboard in the garage and figured we’d earned ourselves a snack.

DZ9etb3h.jpg

Rice crackers, Lancashire cheese, and roasted Hatch chili. The lambsfoot handled the slicing for the snack, too, of course. :)
Looks tasty, Greg!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Did you carefully decide how many crackers to use (as my wife claims I would do), or is the selection process more random?

Morning Guardians, hope everyone had an excellent weekend :) I'm starting off the week with my Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot :) Have a good weeks folks

Definitely is Choice, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Greg, as I'm sure you would do instinctively, by turning the blade around, and using the 'nose', the Lambsfoot turns into a very efficient spreader, and there's no point to get in the way :)
...
Thanks for the pro tip, Jack! ;)

Thank you, GT. I must confess though, I did stage the knife so that the unpleasantness wasn't too obvious. Even so, I think the shrinkage is more noticeable in hand due to the exposed liners and their sharp edges digging uncomfortably into the hand.

Fine picture of your Union Jack, GT. I also like the Henderson's. I am a recent convert, and having ordered some, I've already gone through a third of the bottle, it just goes so well with so many things.
Thanks for the additional shrinkage info, Dylan, and for the photo nod. :) I wish you continued enjoyment of "The Black Stuff"!:cool::cool:

I have to say, it would appear that you are covering most of the major food groups with that pile of oatmeal.... Fruits, veggies, proteins, fiber, maybe some dairy? Can't say that I would be brave enough to try but it certainly looks healthy. ;) That is an excellent tie, by the way. It looks similar to what my burgeoning library is starting to look like.

Carrying the wee Stag again today. I hope everyone is having a great Monday so far.

JM9cHBv.jpg
Great photo of your stag, Dylan, and of your growing library.:thumbsup::thumbsup: I see the resemblance between your shelves and my necktie. ;) I do try to get an entire "food pyramid" into my morning oatmeal variation. Not sure if the bowl in the photo contains dairy; sometimes I use milk as the liquid for cooking and sometimes I use orange juice. ;)

Latest photo of "RALF" taken out on our deck. Beautiful day today!

RALF looks fit for service, Jeff!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Got a bit of a surprise in the mail today. A surprise simply because I think the post from England made it here in record time!

An Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot all dressed up in some rather interesting Stag. This is a wonderful knife, very finely made, with terrific fit and finish and some excellent snap. The Stag is rather dramatically mismatched but I think it all the more endearing as both sides are just simply superb. It is almost as if I have two different knives!

Congrats on being one of the first to take delivery, Dylan; I can see why you're very pleased with the knife, including its Janus-like aspect! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's like day and night, Dylan. You've got the fire-like stag on the pile side for the day, and the moonbeam white stag on the show side for the night.
I'm committed to naming my lambsfoots, and your comments give me some ideas for possibilities, Joshua.:thumbsup: But I really have to see my particular ACL. BTW, your new 2-lambsfoot sig pic is tops!! :):cool::thumbsup:

I have to admit GT- your oatmeal concoctions pack more food values than my plain jane raisin bran.:D

5K Qs 5K Qs :DThanks for the kind words about my wee Sambar’s Gary! :) My ACL is getting closer to home. The latest tracking update “September 11, 2018, 11:19 am Arrived at USPS Regional Facility NASHVILLE TN DISTRIBUTION CENTER ANNEX” :D

Have fun and take pictures. I think you can post them if they're under 500kb
Okay, I have to ask now that you said that. Has BF reduced the digital size they are allowing to be posted? Suddenly I am having considerable difficulty posting pics that were no problem in the past.

Yes it's disturbing GT, as is the apparent complacency about the whole thing o_O

Thanks Jack. I totally missed the thread. Thought I was the only one having issues. Now ... as for this "media gallery" thing. Never heard of it till now...

Me neither mate  Questions were asked (a year ago), questions went unanswered o_O

Can't find the right emoticon. I never watched those TNGs, though I tried. They might do a good job, I thought. I watched the first episode and was disgusted to see an old script with better special effects. That's all you've got, TNG? I had better special effects by then than the original Star Trek.

Thanks, Dave. :) FWIW, it has also helped me maintain my slim girlish figure well into my golden years!:D:p

I had mixed feelings about TNG. They had lots of interesting episodes (including the holodeck ones that some people didn't much care for), but there certainly were derivative plots, as you pointed out, Jer. And I was never a big fan of Ryker, Troi, and especially Ryker/Troi together.

As mismatched as the scale are, each one is really nice stag. However, if it bothers you too much, I might be convinced to help you dispose of it:).

You caught me! I laid out enough crackers to make that pattern and declared it sufficiently snacky. :)

There’s a new addition to my lambsfoot collection inbound via the post, so I thought a final family shot of the trio would be fun:

wdw4hWVh.jpg

Fortunately none of them complained about sitting for the photo. ;)

Some really great pictures lately from Cambertree, Padruig, 5K Qs, WhittlinAway, and Jack, thanks all.
I do like Jack's "stand in" barber picture and the Wright laying on a photo of a retro Royal Enfield. (They still make a good looking bike)
Received a special package from Jack today and just need to shoot a picture or two... :)

Thanks 5K Qs 5K Qs ! It took me longer than I'd like to admit to make a new signature picture, but I think it will do! I was grate to Jack Black Jack Black for including me on the Guardians email list, but I'm debating whether to ask for one of the leftover stag lambsfoots or try for one or two of the GEC 14s since that's a pattern I haven't had yet on my "year of GEC pattern" buying, trying, selling or keeping.
