Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That modest gable wall seems a funny place for monstrous stepped buttresses. Am I misconstruing?

Maybe there was a further extension, or another building, there before Jer? 🤷‍♂️ I'd ask, but I don't think the bar staff would have a clue  Nice to see Old Toffee Wings
Hope the doctor's prescription helps you. Very nice crisp photo of your HHB Jack.
Thanks Bill, just my regulars :) The pic was taken on the wall of the pub beer garden yesterday
Thanks Jack. 🤣
Yes, with the exception of one year where I taught a required US history class to juniors in high school in my second year of teaching. Now, that was challenging! 🤣
We went to a hockey game last night with an old friend and had a great time. 😎👍

It’s a little rainy here this morning also but it’s supposed to clear up soon. Sweet photo of your HHB Jack. Have a great day!😎👍
It must be very rewarding Todd :) I used to teach the youngsters various outdoor skills, some cookery, and kite-making, when I was a youth-worker, but I have only ever taught adults, formally, the youngest being French apprentice boys, who were in their late teens :) I'm glad you enjoyed the hockey game, they certainly look like fun  Thanks my friend, you too :)

Hello Guardian ms, just catching up this morning. It’s been a week so far but today will be fun. Our Aunt is in visiting from Kentucky so Greg and I are headed to San Antonio for a visit with her and Pop. I’ll be taking this one. Have a great day. 👍😎

Have a great visit Pete :) Safe travels
I went on a field trip with my son and his 1st grade class to the zoo last year. I really couldn't tell the difference between the animals in the cages and the kids from his class 🤣 🤣 🤣 All the credit in the world for folks that take care of and teach the youth.
LOL! :D Our trips, (to the seaside, etc), could certainly be exciting! I used to warn the older boys that if they got themselves arrested, they were on their own! 😏 On my first day at work, one of the kids pulled a knife on me! But we got on fine subsequently ;) I think things may have got worse since then though! Respect to the Chalkies! :D ;)
Always look forward to the HHB, Jack. Awesome photo.
Thanks a lot Paul :)

Hope everyone is having a good day :) It's been raining all day here, but I put on my formerly stinky Barbour, and walked down to Charlie's for a coffee, then into town. I went to the bank, and then called in the market for something to eat. I was going to plump for Vietnamese, but there was a long queue at the stall I go to, so I headed to the Tunisian stall, which is a bit tucked away. I wasn't disappointed :)

I remembered I had had an email, a couple of days ago, regarding the post box I had for about 30 years, and which I gave up at the end of last year. I was the most longstanding customer, but there were some changes at the office a few years ago, and a new manager installed who turned out to be flagrantly incompetent. At the start of the national lockdown here in March 2020, he just locked the door, and walked away, failing to contact any of their customers, or to make arrangements for the mail entrusted to his care. I had mail I couldn't access for months, but even worse, I lost a number of important parcels, including two packages from Campbellclanman Campbellclanman and H herder  They were closed for almost all of 2020, and had the cheek to invoice me for the 'service'! I told them I would be stopping using the box, and no longer did so, though the 'rent' didn't run out until the end of last year. They then told me that they would let me know if any mail came through for me. I heard from them a few days ago, to let me know there was a letter for me. It turned out there was a small pile of mail, going back to November 2022, including a Christmas card from Stan Shaw's widow, Rosemary. Hopefully, I won't have to go there again 😠

Sounds like an awesome day, Pete !! Enjoy your day with family. Blood lamb is looking ready for duty.
Thanks Paul. It’s been a good while since we were all together.
Have a great visit Pete :) Safe travels
Thanks Jack. I’m driving much faster than the speed limit on wet roads. What could go wrong? 😆😆

That’s just criminal. Sorry to hear this. Was an official mail location or private?

Thanks Pete, it was very frustrating dealing with them. It was styled as a 'business centre', which I'd always thought was privately-owned, but it turned out to be partly funded by Leeds City Council. I'm not sure what happened there, but there was some sort of coup there at some point, and all the old staff were replaced

Hello Guardians, went to a district retirement party last night for a close family friend. Didn’t know until last night, but seems I’m the most senior staff member in the district, officially the old guy! Even the folks retiring have less seniority than I do. 🤣
Spring break has arrived! Time for Mrs. Bigfish and I to get out of town for some fun.
😎👍

Congrats Todd for the 30 years of teaching. Hope you enjoy your time off.👍

Congratulations Todd on longevity of your career. That's a long time in a maximum security cell my friend. I have a cousin who received a degree in early childhood education. He has been gone over 20 yrs now teaching kindergarten in Singapore, Guatemala City and Cairo. A most worth and absolutely horrifying undertaking.o_O:oops:😂
Very cool photo Dwight.
Thank you my friend.

That is unbelievable Jack. How have you managed to refrain from conducting "premeditated murder" and spending your remaining years in solitary confinement?

Congrats Todd for the 30 years of teaching. Hope you enjoy your time off.👍
Thanks Bob, we’re going to do our best!

Thanks Dwight, Wow, your cousin has had an impressive career. 😎👍
Sweet lamb Dwight. 😎👍

Hello Guardians! Stayed overnight in St. Louis after the hockey game last night in a fun hotel that names their rooms after famous authors. The rooms aren’t really “themed” but there’re a few things here and there.
We stayed in the Bram Stoker room. 😄👍9FB4F36C-69AE-4857-8CA7-E3C22766C2DF.jpeg69D337BB-E6F2-47EA-81E9-F7CD666195BA.jpegDB77A547-D372-4F82-975C-F5F160920B02.jpeg

Yet it probably feels like 40? I lasted 34 yrs. They wanted me out because I was costing them too much $$ on the pay scale.
No doubt! That's a long stint Bob, not many folks are in the same job for that length of time these days, let alone teaching. That kind of thing happens here too :(

It was an extremely frustrating experience Dwight, and the moron in charge is still 'working from home', which is perhaps the only reason I'm not doing porridge! 😠
Your Ellin Lamb is a winner Dwight, beautifully photographed too  I'm grinning like a Chashire Cat! :D ;)

Sounds like a cool place to stay Todd, I hope you packed the garlic! :D I am having a few days in Whitby in August :) When I was in my late teens, and regularly visiting London, I used to stay in an expensive hotel called The Hansel & Gretel Hotel, Where (like Winston Smith) I was also allocated to Room 101. The first time I stayed there, I thought it was very warm in the room, and opened what I thought was a large fitted wardrobe to find the boiler for the entire hotel! 😅
Ah Spring, In another month we should have flowers blooming.

Lucky for him. Sounds like he needs some wall-to-wall counseling on proper customer care and business etiquette.:poop:

Thanks too for the pub update in previous post!

As many know, if you enjoy what you are doing, time flies Jack.
A very sad situation about public services everywhere. There is too much of a " entitlement " mentality blooming.
