Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I’m enjoying a nice morning with a lamb, turkeys, a cat and a big cup of coffee. Butterball the turkey is going on his 3rd year. He was the runt and the other turkeys always chased him away. They were fighting this year and Butterball got a lacerated foot. He can walk on both now. And he met a couple of lady turkeys. Last year Butterball was an incel turkey so I’m happy for him.

Beautiful lamb...glad butterball is still around. I would assume your cat has learned not to " play " with turkeys?

Yes Bob my cat and my neighbors cats keep their distance from the turkeys. I can’t trust the turkeys. The cats enjoy watching the birds feed. My cat particularly enjoys youtube videos of birds. In a month or so the baby turkeys should be hatching. Exciting times in the backyard.

Willem just told me he needs a special permit to use giraffe bone now. Your lamb looks great and I wanted a tan one. He's going to use kudu instead so it will not get confiscated at inspection.

Those small turkeys must be cute running around.

LOL! :D Brilliant Rachel! 🤣 Looks like you've been carrying that one a fair bit :)

A trusty lamb R8shell. What is in your garden?
Eggplants. That picture is from a few years ago, this season's plants haven't flowered yet.
I’m with Jack Rachel, that’s the best response I’ve heard! 😄👍
Haha! It works for other embarrassing situations, too. Nobody really wants to hear about a stranger's "art project" (I'd guess it's like being in L.A. and hearing about someone's research for a film script they're writing. )

Morning Guardians !

Carrying the small Buffalo horn Lamb today

Nice Sunday choice buddy :)
Very nice Steve. I wish you some of our weather.....high 80's to 92!
Can I have a bit too please?! :D ;)

Cool pics Kurt, sounds like a nice morning :)

Really? I remember reading a post here on BF years ago, where a poster claimed that in certain parts of Africa, the lions and hyenas just wait by the side of a tarmacked road. The giraffes can normally outrun them, but their hooves skate on the tarmac, so they have to slow right down. The poster claimed that there were piles of giraffe bones alongside such roads.

Hi Jack,
Willum from K'roo said there is an abundance of bones. Some invironmental group is causing headaches. He also told me it could get held up in USA even if a permit was acquired plus adds $50 to knife( that is why I went with kudu for my lamb to keep him out of trouble).

From a text he sent me this am.

The quandry is...another cutler has no problem using it. He may mislabel it to fool authorities.

That looks intimidating Barrett! 🥵😁

It was pretty hot, Jack. The company that sells it claims that it’s 750k Scoville units, but I’m not sure that translates the same when you’re talking dried pepper flakes vs hot sauce. My tolerance for spice isn’t that high, and it was edible.

When I tried it, our friends had gotten BBQ catered for a birthday. The “hot” BBQ sauce from the place turned out to be disappointingly mild, so my friend got out those pepper flakes and I added some to my pulled pork sandwich. Like I said, it definitely added some kick, but also had a nice flavor.

Nice thing to do Barrett, I always loved going to the library as a kid, and made sure I took my own kids too :) I'm glad you were able to find something yourself :) Wonderful pic of your Albers Lamb  Scout is growing up fast :)

I’ve always enjoyed libraries. They have two of my favorite things: books and quiet. 🤣 Now if only you could get a pint there while you read…

Going with the kids is a slightly different experience, but still enjoyable. The library we usually go is fairly small anyways, and at least half of it is kids stuff, so there isn’t a huge selection of non-kids books to pick from.

…just a few days ago it was 87° here o_O

I knew it was too good to last. 🤣 Earlier this week I was wearing shorts, and this morning I was shoveling heavy, wet snow off the front deck (while wearing shorts).

I think you made the right decision Bob  I've heard of wood being seized, because it's been wrongly identified, and camel bone seized because it's thought to be elephant ivory. There's tons of the latter stuff here, but to ship it you'd need proof of age documentation for each knife, or risk six months in jail, and an unlimited fine  This giraffe bone reached me OK thankfully

That seems to happen a lot with sauce doesn't it?! Yeah, pepper flakes have got to be very different to a liquid I reckon  I just checked the ones I have in my kitchen cupboard, and they're just bird's eye chilli flakes

The Library in Leeds serves beer! :D Beautiful building, both inside and out, but unfortunately a rotten pub :(

Yes, it's like that at the library at the bottom of my street, which is quite small. It's mainly aimed at young kids.

Oh no! :D

👍 What a beauty Jack. It's the first time I have seen that fine lamb.

It’s good to see my favorite Guardians subset going strong. 😉

That sounds good, Jack. I tried this stuff at a friend’s a while back. It was definitely spicy, but had great flavor, too. I haven’t bought any for myself yet — it’s a bit pricey for pepper flakes — but at least a little goes a long way. 🥵🤣

Sounds like a good gig, Paul.

We took the girls to the library this afternoon. They browsed the kids books and played (mostly quietly) and colored a bit.

If I take both girls to the library on my own, it’s unlikely that I’ll get to even glance at any sections that might contain anything of interest to me, but my wife was with us today, so I managed to browse a bit and pick out one book. Although I’ve read a lot of Neil Gaiman, there are quite a few short stories in here I don’t think I’ve read before, so I’m looking forward to that.

Enjoying a little bourbon and a quiet house.

"I Can't Feel My Face" sounds just like something my son would try lol!

Sweet Lamb? Check. Nice bourbon? Check. Book of choice? Check. Quiet to enjoy it all? Priceless!

Two different types of medjoul dates with my morning coffee :) Thought they kind of matched the bone on my Charlie Lamb :D

The "jig" on the dates goes along too!

Whoa! Mind blown! A pint at the library in a comfy chair in a quiet, hidden corner?! It's too bad Americans don't read real books much any more (sad in and of itself) because there's a side-hustle idea lol.

Beautiful Lamb! You definitely have majestic libraries; Leeds is picturesque for sure. I had no idea pints were available, even if no good.

Now you are " rockin the casbah " with those beauties Dwight.
Is that rams horn on the bottom lamb?
I'm asking for R8shell.😁
LOL. Tell R8shell I think it's buffalo horn but it may be some other kind of horn, not ram's horn but maybe ram's horn or perhaps some other kind of horn. I can say authoritatively it is definitely NOT bicycle horn. 😁
Happy Triple Lambsfoot Day buddy! :D Great pic :)
Thanks pal.
Beautiful redbud tree. Probably my favorite spring bloom.

Kurt I really enjoy pics of your backyard area. Butterball look's to be hitting his stride. And you taught me a new word.

I quoted several others and "POOF!" They are gone.

That’s a great name for a pub! 🤣 Good looking building, too. It’s a shame the pub’s no good.

There’s a library in Northeast Minneapolis — the Pierre Bottineau Library — that is located in part of the old Grain Belt brewery. I may have to go check that one out some time. I’ve also never been to the Minneapolis Central Library, which is the largest of the 41 libraries in the Hennepin County Public Library system.

Yes, it's like that at the library at the bottom of my street, which is quite small. It's mainly aimed at young kids.

This one in St. Bonifacius, MN (just down the road from us) makes the small library we take the girls to look huge! 🤣 The building used to be a bank, and has been used a library since the 1930s, but has only had indoor plumbing and central heat/air since 1987.

It’s worth trying, I meant to buy some after trying it, I just never got around to it yet.

I just have to wait until everyone else in the house is asleep. 🤣

It’s a good idea, right? 😉

I think I may give the Albers a break tomorrow and put this one back in my pocket. (Old pic.)

I know of one weakness of the HHB: it's precious. (Sure, sure, hear that in poor Smeagol's voice if you want.) I have no doubt that this knife is up to hard work, but I don't want to work it hard because I can't run down to the local hardware store and replace it if I break it. We really really need to get Case to make lambsfoot knives, so we can have easily replaceable users. I do use the HHB, but for hard going I tend to want to baby it and use something replaceable. It's just too dang nice.
