Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

If you're talking about flittermice, you're welcome to all you can catch of mine.
Mine seem to be out of the house at last, though.
I still hate them.

I'd forgotten about the bat incident Jer! Have you noticed any special powers? ;) Good to see Rose Beast from that angle
Good morning Guardians. Got a leak in my tire yesterday. Nail. Going to get it fixed today. Thought about pulling the nail out but thought better of it and left it be.
HHB today.View attachment 2205162
That's annoying Bill  Your Hartshead Barlow is looking good

A fabulous-looking example Bob :) I've just returned from my trip to town, via Charlie's. It's a beautiful day here, and I hope I can spend some time in the garden this afternoon :) Hope you have a lovely day
Glad you can get out and about Jack.
I will be battling weeds soon myself.
Great to see all the ebony coming out today.

Thanks David, great to see that lovely Rodgers

Thank you Dwight, when I was doing my SFOs, and commissioning a follow-up to the 2017 Guardians knives, I wanted, what I called a 'Peaches & Cream' horn, like this:

SKMEyPO.jpg

Wright's said they had that horn, so I put the word out. However, when I visited the factory, to see how they were getting on, which it was always necessary to do several times, the horn they had started to use was nothing like what I had been promised. I asked them to stop production, and was told that they would get it right. Numerous phone calls were exchanged, and I was eventually told they had sourced some more horn. The clock was ticking, but I asked to see some samples, which I didn't receive until much later, because the two knives had simply been put in a paper envelope, and dropped in a post box, without any stamps! When they hadn't arrived after a few days, I asked for two more to be sent, and eventually received these two:

Nice horn, but not quite what I had been promised. I was assured that they had some horn, which was more like what I wanted, but I decided to go over, and have a look myself. In fact the two samples were not representative at all, and the rest of the horn was very much like we had had for the 2018 Guardians run. That year, I had split the run between ebony and horn, and the problems getting the right ebony, were even greater than getting the right horn. I was inclined to cancel the horn altogether, but asked for opinions on the email list, and a number of folks still wanted horn, so horn they got:

The samples I had been sent were completely different, so knowing Charlie's predilection for redheads (or at least ONE redhead), I sent him the red knife, and kept Marilyn. Unfortunately, I neglected to take a pic of them together :(

A fine photo my friend :)

Apparently he had it on his wall for some years! :D Gordon might be the brightest of the Leeds market traders, but he doesn't have much competition! 🤣

Thanks Charlie, it's a shame I couldn't get hold of more of it

For the first few years I lived in Leeds, I used to have bats flying round, right outside my windows at night, but I haven't seen them for many years now, I'm not sure what happened :(

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week hasn't been too punishing, but I dare say most folks will be ready for the weekend, and hope you all have a good one. And a good Friday of course! :D The weather forecast is a little better here today, with some sunshine, and temperatures in the mid 60's. I offered to buy my mate Wolfie (Boxer Wolfie, not Werewolf Wolfie!) breakfast, but he is taking his kids to see their grandmother, so I might have a walk down to Charlie's, and grab a coffee, before going to take care of some business in town. Got my trusty Barlow with me :) Have a great day Guardians

I am still searching for a good horn lamb. The golden horn is so nice. Not hard to find a horn covered lamb. Impossible to find a nice one. Those are amazing.

That's some nice-looking ebony Ken

Thanks a lot Bob, I've had a nice day :) Leeds Library's Word of the Day is a lot less obscure than usual

Perhaps you need one of these? Invented by Mr Sheldon of Sheldon Knife fame :)

I was reading a list of obscure words the other day and appreciated this one:

ultracrepidarian — a person who expresses opinions on matters outside the scope of their knowledge or expertise.

Thank goodness we don’t ever get any of those here on BladeForums… 😳🤣

Got the white lamb today. Heat wave going through right now but better than the 120s I am used to in west Texas. Have a busy day of work and hopefully a cigar and beer later. Have a good one Guardians!!

Yep, after living near Phoenix for several years, a hot day in the Upper Midwest is a lot more bearable.

Hope you're having a great time buddy, it looks like your AC is :)

Beautiful photo Paul, we have all being enjoying the weather in sun-soaked Leeds here today, with scorching temperatures getting as high as the mid 60's! 😎🌞🤣
Interesting Jack. Looks like a real back saver.
Yeah, simple idea I guess :)
Almost at the weekend, can’t come soon enough.
