Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Jack, but even less time recently. I'm sure it'll level out again soon.
I hope so Tyson, it's always a pleasure to see you here :)
Great pocket worn finish Jack. Those cobble stone streets look like an interesting place to roam.
Thank you Bob, there is still an abundance of the original old cobbled streets in Leeds :) This small lane is just behind my house

Great pic Bob? Is that Edam?
I thought these two together would make a nice pic. I couldn’t stop myself from putting a patina on the 1095.

Outstanding pair Kurt :) We are seeing some very classy Lambsfoot knives here these days! :)

A man of good taste...yes it is Jack. What a beautiful, rustic area you live in.👌

Thank you my friend :) Edam was one of the cheeses I grew up with, and yet I can't remember the last time I had it. Nice to be reminded :) I consider myself lucky, I am less than 2 miles from the city centre of one of England's largest cities, but live on a broad tree-lined avenue, and get hedgehogs and foxes in my garden, and even deer, within a quarter of a mile. It's peaceful and quiet, and you don't hear much apart from birdsong, and children playing out, and I don't have to go too far for a walk :)

Friday evening here now, and I think I might watch a movie :) Have a good one Guardians

Dull, humid, and raining on and off here today, but I've had a nice enough day anyway :) I started off by walking down to Charlie's, for a coffee and a croissant...

Then caught a bus into town.

Despite it's name, and historic frontage, we'll not call The Three Legs 'Charlie's Pub', because it's a real dump! I don't know what time they open (or 'unlock'), but it was already busy at 11.00am. Usually, there is a bunch of drunks smoking outside, but the rain had temporarily kept them inside! The Three Legs is situated on one of Leeds' oldest streets, but very much like other pubs of its type, it has gambling establishments on either side, and there's a payday loans and pawn-brokers next to one of those. By lunchtime, there'll be middle-aged drunks staggering around outside, and fighting with each other :(

Further up the hill is another old pub, The Horse & Trumpet, with a reputation, which is only a little better

I imagine these shoes, sitting atop a bin, could tell a tale! :D They don't look to have been worn though 🤷‍♂️

I took a few more photos, while I did some shopping ;)

I was going to get a slice of pizza from this newly-opened place, but I realised it was a franchise, and the staff seemed clueless, and the pizza didn't actually look that good

I remember when ice cream vans all carried traditional Italian surnames. In Sheffield, there was Manfredi's, Sanella's, Cuneo's. There was some rivalry between them, but not like in Glasgow, where there were 'ice cream wars', which weren't anywhere near as much fun as they sound!

No comment! :D

In an independent maker's shop in the Grand Arcade above, I found this wee cake fork that I thought might make a nice gift for some cake lover :D

I called in the small, dedicated hot sauce shop, looking for a few replacement items. I was unlucky with most of them, but I did get some replacement Marie Sharp's :) I was after a hot, sweet sauce to have with my sausage sandwiches, and the knowledgeable proprietor recommended this one as his best. I buy a lot of sauces, which should fit that category, but find the chilli barely present. I tasted a sample, and this one is gorgeous! I'm looking forward to trying more of Mr Vikki's Hot Coriander Sauce 😋

Having whet my appetite, and lucked out on the pizza, I thought I'd go for Thai 😋 Unfortunately, the waitress misheard me, and I got a small bottle of Chang, instead of a large one :(

I called in at Charlie's again, for another coffee, on the way home ;) Hope everyone else is having a good day :)
Looks like a great day Jack. I’m still enjoying some time off, fortunately. I did go through more than two hundred emails this morning however. That will make for a more pleasant return to work next week.

I have a new lamb in the flock. This Rogers. It’s smaller than the standard size lamb. I thought the horn looked mighty fine.

Everyone have a safe, fun Friday.

Patriotism at its tastiest. I always enjoy seeing your lamb Todd.
Thanks Bob. 😎👍
Your Albers is looking great, and I’ll make no jokes about cutting the cheese! 🤣👍

Thanks for taking us along on your day Jack ! 👍

Thanks Barrett :) Yeah, still took me a minute to work out it was his place! :D ;)

LOL! :D Those days are long gone for me I'm afraid! :D This pub crawl will have half a dozen pubs, but every one a gem :D :) I remember about a dozen years ago, a friend of mine, Ferran, organised a pub crawl for his birthday, the problem was that, not only were there about a dozen pubs, but there was more than a mile between some of them, and only 3 hours to cover them all. If I remember correctly, we had a couple of pints in the first one, 'The Scarborough Taps', walked half a mile or so to 'The Grove', had a couple of pints there, then walked to 'The Palace', about a mile away. After another 2 pints, Ferran divulged his route, which he'd previously kept secret, and we ended up staying in The Palace! :D

🤣

Thanks Dwight, those monks owned everything around here at one time! It's an impressive building to visit

Nice to see the Pile side, my friend, which looks to have just looks to have just as much character as the Mark  Great pic :)

Thank you buddy :)

I'm glad that one cleansed your vicarious memory of my foul brew Pete! :D

I was fast asleep! :D

Thank you very much Duncan, hope you're keeping well brother :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week got off to a good start :) It's cloudy, and cooler, here today, so it might be a good time for me to catch up with some work. I do need to go out, and get some groceries at some point though. Carrying my trusty Hartshead Barlow :) Have a good day Guardians

I am still carrying my Hartshead but have taken little photos of it because of my Phone camera lenses being smashed :( - loving seeing our other friends Hartsheads out!

Guardians, Barrett @btb01 has thoughtfully posted some news about our absent friend Harvey @cigarrodog in the Lounge. I'm afraid it's sad news :(

Thank you Bob- Hey… we all face challenges as that simply is part of our lives - in some of the big ones I have always kept saying to myself “ Pretty soon I will be looking back at this” and that was something I used to cope, but to see a loss like Harvey was out of the blue and he seemed like such a Very nice guy.

I feel for his forum friends here and again express my condolences to all who knew Harvey.

Bob watching that knife is something I am looking forward to over time matey 😊
