Wow...I hope it is not causing problems for residents.
It is not causing any problems per se. The eruption is in the middle of a peninsula, pretty far from any settlement. Gas pollution is or can be a concern though and in the days leading up the eruption we had a looot of earthquakes, 8000 in the last day alone. The largest (4 and 5 on the Richter) could be felt here in Reykjavik, a few even made house shake and knocked things down from shelves.
