Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sadly you are correct Jack.
Have not been out and about lately, so some mundane pics.
Have a good one Jack.
I'm not surprised Bob, but then I'm not getting out a lot myself at the moment :( Thanks buddy, I hope you have a good day

I've been working this morning. Just grabbed a quick cheese and ham sammich for lunch, and I'll get back to it

Good to see Old Toffee Wings Jer

Always good to see toffee and cannot wait for football.
Thanks, thanks, and yeah!
Though I'm finding baseball easier to stay awake through now that they've eliminated the extended coffee-breaks between pitches.

Nothing could make me stay awake during a cricket match! :D

It's raining heavily again here, I've lost count of how many consecutive days that's been! Some July!

Great knife and pic! 🤠
Thanks! That's my favorite log! Haha. It lives on the porch and one day when it's dry enough it will become something cool...

Never name anyone without their approval first.
I certainly won't! Please recall the attack sheep. They look rather friendly, though... It would be fun to meet them.

Thanks Bob.

Thanks Steve.

Much obliged Jack.

Thanks pal.

That's what we call beautiful super fine soup bone. And a very stiff pull is quite normal on a lambsfoot.

Thank you David.
Soup bone! What a fitting description. Thanks! I seem to have washed some of the color out while cleaning after working on the pull but it's pretty neat looking still.

Very nice! As for the pull, my A. Wright knives have a heavier pull than any of the ones I have by Case, Buck, Victorinox, Opinel, GEC, Camillus, Schrade, etc. I think the only knife I have with a similar heavy pull is my Douk-Douk.
Thanks! It's gotten a bit better with some sanding. I can't think of anything as stiff except for a really old German pruner.

Not a bad thing to be nice and sturdy. If it was a different knife I'd have already cut an easy open slot in it, lol! Don't want to do that to this one, though.

Good-looking choice Jer :)

I worry that breathing in all that smoke is going to wreck people's lungs, especially the youngsters :( Looks like you got a nice Lambsfoot there Rick, cool soupy stag  If you're struggling with the pull, check out the Thread Index linked to in post #1

Thanks for the info Daniel, proper mountains

We got some nice wood there Vince :)

Good morning Guardians, hope your week got off to a good start. I'm going to try to catch up with some work today  Thought I'd carry my 2018 Ebony Guardians Lambsfoot :) Have a good day everyone

Thanks! That index is a nice resource!

Have a good day everyone.

Weather... Hot sauce... Two things that have been on my mind lately.

Canadian wildfire smoke looms over Pittsburgh today. Air advisory again, high humidity and just unpleasant outside. I'm sure it's nothing compared to the areas effected by the wildfire, or those in the US suffering extreme heat..

Hot sauce... I put Red Devil on pretty much everything but I've run out and can't seem to locate another bottle! Great flavor and a mild heat. Of course, good old sriracha in the big plastic rooster bottle is one of my favorites as well. Put that on your hard boiled eggs! Oh yeah!

Time to swerve back on topic and share my entry for review by the Guardians. A nice 4" A. Wright with stag. Stag is a first for me and it's really something else! I like it. That gnarly gouge in the back kinda through me off in the photos, but in hand it's really neat. The knife is finished well and very sharp. My only nitpick is that the pull is crazy! I'm sure it will smooth out over time.

I've probably looked at A. Wright a hundred times and I'm finally glad to get a hold of one of their pieces! I don't know if he wants to be named here but thanks for the help in locating the knife!

Glad you found one you like. Nice background.

It was probably just 'muck' Rick! :D

Be patient, it'll wear you in! ;)

Yes, it's a shame it doesn't cover the entire thread, but it has links to some great info

That will be fine metal dust from the factory. I had no idea about it till i started cleaning a few knives from the factory when i received them. The covers were nearly a new colour after getting all the grime and dust off them. I has some stag that changed colour completely after a good clean from the factory.

Thanks, that makes sense about the fine metal dust. Most of the black washed out and left behind lighter brown coloring.

There was a lot of funk inside the knife as well, even before I started fiddling with it. I guess that goes everywhere! Definitely thought it was part of the bone and it was a little shocking after drying everything off!

Very interesting stuff, this stag bone.
