This may be considered blasphemy in Yorkshire, but If you can't get ahold of Henderson's Relish, I think the closest thing would be Worcestershire Sauce.

Y'all ever had a "Fluffernutter"? We grew up eating them, but few people outside of Pennsylvania and New England have heard of them.
Never heard of it, but I want one!Y'all ever had a "Fluffernutter"? We grew up eating them, but few people outside of Pennsylvania and New England have heard of them.
Go for it! When I moved to Texas with my family as a kid, I remember looking for the marshmallow fluff in the store. It was hidden over with the baking stuff instead of the proper place: next to the jelly and honey in the stuff-you-put-on-peanut-butter section.Never heard of it, but I want one!
Maybe there's time to order some proper relish before Yorkshire Day. It's not cheap from amazon, but doesn't cost more than a bottle of good wine, and lasts longer. It’s almost 1 AM in England, so Jack’s probably in bed and you have some time to edit that before he sees it.![]()

The prize this year is a knife from my collection, which I acquired from John Maleham, former owner of A. Wright & Son, in 2017. John had managed to get hold of a few pieces of decent vintage Sambar stag, and had made up a couple of Lambsfoot knives that I bought off him. I asked John to let me know if he managed to obtain anymore stag, which eventually led to the Ashley's Choice and Hartshead Barlow knives. This knife is the best of the two knives that I bought from John, and was made by Wright's best cutler. It is on the same (small) frame as the AC. I've only carried it a few times, and it's as new

You have marshmallow FLUFF?!Go for it! When I moved to Texas with my family as a kid, I remember looking for the marshmallow fluff in the store.
It was hidden over with the baking stuff instead of the proper place: next to the jelly and honey in the stuff-you-put-on-peanut-butter section.
Yorkshire rejoices!Maybe there's time to order some proper relish before Yorkshire Day. It's not cheap from amazon, but doesn't cost more than a bottle of good wine, and lasts longer.

Good for you JerYou convinced me.
Just ordered 4x 284 ml for twenty bucks.

Many thanks my friendLooking forward to it Jack. That's some handsome stag on that lamb.
I LOVE that Leyland double decker bus!!!!!![]()
LOL!
I remember our last minute attempt to buy more on the way to the train station Barrett! There is! I ordered a new bottle this morning, which should be delivered tomorrow. I had one from my visit to Sheffield in 2018, which I finished off recently.
(You’re right, it isn’t exactly cheap, but it won’t break the bank, either, and should last a non-Yorkshireperson quite a while. I have to order Whataburger Spicy Ketchup from Amazon, too, unless I remember to pick some up when we’re back in Arkansas.)
Turns out they sell Marshmallow Fluff in my local supermarket, who'd have thought?!Gonna go for it. Though I was not familiar with the marshmallow creme, my daughter said we had some.

I would much rather have the Marshmallow Fluff, but not sure if it is available locally. May get the Kraft version to try, and if I really like it, I might order the good stuff online.
[Pay no attention to the photo-bombing lambsfoot.]
Thank you very much JJ, I try not to miss a chip butty photo opportunity!Thank you very much, Jack!!!![]()

You have marshmallow FLUFF?!Wow!
Yorkshire rejoices!
A shame about the pricing, but 15 years ago, I couldn't get Henderson's in Leeds!I usually ship the small bottles, as I think they'll be less likely to break, but they charge more for them than the large ones!
Nice patina on yourBig 'Un Rachel
![]()
Good for you JerThat doesn't sound TOO outrageous*
They charge quite a bit for Tony's and Secret Aardvark
![]()
* - I just checked online, and it's the same price here! Eighteen months back, I could get it for between £1 and £1.50 in the supermarket. I saw it at £2.50 ($3.20) yesterday!
Many thanks my friendI haven't seen that bus in Leeds before. I'm not sure who it had been hired by, I wondered if it was something to do with the university. I wouldn't mind hiring it myself sometime, be pretty good fun on a fine day
![]()
Edit - I was just looking at bus hire online - those firms don't like listing their prices though!
LOL!Hope you like it Dwight, I like it in stews, and on cheese on toast, and pie, and on the table!
You've really captured that '19 beautifully

I remember our last minute attempt to buy more on the way to the train station Barrett! That's lasted well
A bottle lasts me quite a long time, but there are homes in Sheffield where they get through a bottle a week!
I'll look out for Whataburger Spicy Ketchup!*

* Someone selling it at $11 plus postage. I've saved the link![]()
Turns out they sell Marshmallow Fluff in my local supermarket, who'd have thought?!I guess there's a lot of stuff in there I have absolutely no idea about!

Good morning Guardians, really nice to read all this Yorkshire Day enthusiasm, I'm touchedHenderson's Relish is far from essential on a chip butty, but it's great stuff to have
I hope everyone's week got off to a reasonable start
I've been having some trouble with my prescription, just down to incompetence at the doctor's/pharmacy, and having gone in yesterday about it, I have to go back in today
I seem to have a lot of these rather tedious interventions into my life recently, and they take up an infuriating amount of time
The sun is out at least, though it isn't warm here, I even had to get out a couple of sweaters from winter storage!
Hoping summer will resume soon!
Apparently all the terribly hot weather in mainland Europe is keeping the rotten weather front over the UK, but I guess there are far worse things!
Think I need some WABOOM!
Have a good day Guardians
