Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Excuse my lack of participation. Life has thrown me some curveballs lately. I hope everyone is doing well. I have carried a lamb everyday of my absence and today was charlie lamb day. Look forward to getting back on regularly. Feel like I have abandoned family 😆 🤣 😂.

Great to see you here Paul, hope things settle down soon :) The maintenance bill is in the mail! :D
Afternoon Guardians. Ethan has been up to the task today.

Ethan looks fine David :)

Just a reminder that there's more to be gained on Yorkshire Day than a delicious chip butty ;) :D

What a prize just for eating fries....oops, chips.😁

Hoping things will be looking up for you, Paul. Something to cheer you: Yorkshire Day is just around the corner!

I remember our last minute attempt to buy more on the way to the train station Barrett! That's lasted well :) A bottle lasts me quite a long time, but there are homes in Sheffield where they get through a bottle a week! :D I'll look out for Whataburger Spicy Ketchup!* ;) :)

* Someone selling it at $11 plus postage. I've saved the link ;) :D

You showed great restraint when the guy behind the counter said he’d never heard of it. 😲🤣

Let me know when you run out, I should be able to find you some at the local H.E.B.

Thanks. I stocked up at Christmas, so I’m set for a little while at least.

H.E.B. are nice stores. My uncle worked for them for a long time and just recently retired. He managed the beer and wine department at an H.E.B. in College Station.

Guardians of The Lambsfoot, and Royal Order of Condiments.

😉😁

Thanks Jack!

All this whataburger spicey ketchup discussion got me hungry. Enablers! 😆👍👍View attachment 2263744

Looks like a tasty breakfast, Pete!

My wife is traveling for work for a couple days, so the girls and I went off on a mini road trip today. First stop was Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store, located halfway between where we live and Mankato (the location of our second stop).

We’d driven by here a few times, but had never stopped in. It’s a… unique place, that’s for sure.

Definitely has that roadside attraction vibe.

Inside, there’s a ton of candy, of course (so much so that it’d be tough to capture the quantity and variety in pics and share it all in one post), but there’s also some interesting decor.

I think I’ve seen this guy over in the Traditional Mug Shots thread. 😉

They had an ok selection of British sweets, but no Curly Wurly. 🫤

I bet Voldemort ate all the Curly Wurlies. 🙄😁

There’s a lot to take in.

I thought JohnDF JohnDF would like this.

This is the only place I’ve ever found one of these in Minnesota. I didn’t really need one this big — a few smaller ones would probably have been preferable — but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.

Now the main purpose of our visit to the ridiculously large candy store was to let the kids check out all the crazy stuff and pick out some candy. I did, however, have a secondary mission. I knew this place had a large selection of unusual sodas, and I thought maybe I might be able to find some Dandelion & Burdock there. Unfortunately, despite all this selection…

…plus two walls of coolers that I didn’t photograph, they did not have any D&B. Oh well. 🫤

After we finished up at the candy store, we drove the rest of the way down to Mankato (which is a little over an hour from our house) so we could have lunch at one of our favorite fast food places.

Don’t get me wrong, I know driving over an hour for a fast food place is a bit silly. But we’ve been eating at Slim Chickens for 20 years, since they opened their first (and, for several years, only) location in Fayetteville, AR in 2003, the same year I started at the University of Arkansas.

Also, the food is great! 🤤

The Albers Lamb didn’t have to do any work today, it was just along for the ride.

LOL! :D I think folks in the know said the nearest US equivalent, unless you make your own, are steak fries ;)

Thanks buddy! WaBooooooooooom looking stunning as always! 🤠
Thanks David :)

I'm not saying any names, but it looks like Westworld might still be a way off! ;) :D
Is that Ironman before and after he started hanging out there?! :D

What a great way to end your day out buddy 😋 Me and my ex once went down to London on the train from Leeds, to visit a greasy spoon we liked, across the road from King's Cross Station. Then we came back! :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing OK. Hey, it's nearly halfway through the week already! The kids are off skool here now, so I'm hoping to meet up with my pal Wolfie, and his youngest lad, Idris, this morning, and I also have to go to the barbers, so I better get moving, and out the door! Carrying this J jsdistin rebuild in giraffe bone :) Have a good day Guardians

Forgot to add this pic to the end of my last post. Fresh bottle of Henderson’s arrived today.

Yay! 🎉 What a GREAT day :) Great photo too Barrett :)
Sweet lamb Barrett.
I will have to relish the taste of Henderson's vicariously, through the photos of forum members.( lost sense of taste years ago).
Very sorry to hear this Bob, I remember my grandfather losing his, he couldn't have been that old at the time either, certainly a good deal younger than I am now :( I lost mine for about 6 months, some years back, but fortunately it returned

Thanks Jack. I eat by memory of how food tasted in the past. Funny, now I will eat foods I abhorred in the past.
Enjoy your day out and about with that fine lamb.😉

I can imagine Bob, I can remember doing something similar myself. When I was young, I often had to est foods I didn't like, so I kind of learned to just chew and swallow if I had to. Thank you my friend, I have just called in Charlie's on my way to town. I hope you have a good one 👍

I've been told to reduce my sodium intake (and sugar...and carbohydrates...and saturated fats...kinda running out of foods to eat) so I've been discovering all kinds of vinegars. It's a pretty good substitute for salt on top of a lot of foods.

When I cut my salt intake, I found peppers provided the needed complement. The various fruit flavors of them are a nice complement to many things on the dinner menu.

Now, to think about the Yorkshire day stuff.
