Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

The telegraph was such a simple thing, how we have seemed to mangle everything since.🤔I how your connections return to "normal" soon Jack.
There is a special richness to that lambs coat.👍🏻
Thank you Bob :)
And you thought you were finished raising young ones.

I do hope toolman is ok Jack.
Hopefully, nothing a couple of kidney punches can't fix! ;) Unfortunately Bob, while they can fix his body, the damage to his atrophied brain is irreparable! :D
I could order 275 grams of Yorkshire parkin sticky ginger cake from Britain for $6 plus shipping, but I doubt it would be here by tomorrow. So I didn't calculate the shipping.

I've sent at least one across The Pond! :D
The Corn Exchange always blows me away Jack. What a beautiful place. Sorry to hear about your crown woes "yet again"
Thank you Dwight, fortunately, it isn't really painful, but they did a pretty bad job. The previous crown fitted fine, and stayed in for at least 15 years. I might just ask them to fill it  Though, when I think about it, I can actually do that myself
A Yorkshire supper complete with Yorkshire pudding bread! :) Chip butty tomorrow!View attachment 2270468
Mmmm...What a feast Dwight! 😋:)

I wonder how rancid my flour is.

Cool recipe book Jer  I haven't made parkin for years, but I remember using both golden syrup and black treacle in the recipe. It cost a lot more to make than to buy, but was far superior 😋 It's weird I couldn't find some :(
No mushy peas?
🤮😁
Cherri is a cook extraordinaire which is why I'm on the track and in the gym 5 days a week. 😋
Are you really Dwight, good for you?
Morning Guardians! Mater is off the vine and helping out. 🤠

Cool recipe book Jer
Lots of good folklore, too.
It's possible I looked up all this last year, but I don't think so. Interesting that parkin is associated with Guy Fawkes day, and I'm pleased to see that some folklorists believe tharf cakes were eaten on Guy Fawkes Day in honor of a Scandinavian celebration of Thor on November fifth. I've always thought GFD was a lot of fuss for a failed criminal, but if it's piggy-backed onto a pagan festival, it makes more sense and sounds more fun.

That's interesting, and would make sense wouldn't it? Parkin was definitely something we used to eat on Bonfire Night, along with Treacle Toffee and Bonfire Toffee. Guy Fawkes was born in York, and so the city has never had Guy Fawkes Night, which perhaps implies a degree of sympathy. I don't know how far that extended though. Sheffield was always a rebellious place, but they still burned Fawksian effigies. However, bonfires and effigies pre-date Guy Fawkes, and there is a long-standing tradition of replacing Fawkes with some other unpopular figure, or figures.
Looks delicious! 😋 I love brownies.🤠
They're sometimes a little sweet for me, but that one was just right :)
Out and about, enjoying the weather with my 4 year old and ‘18 Lamb, and realized that it’s been forever since I checked in!
Hope everyone is doing well.

Here’s the Lambsfoot with a bouquet the 4 year old put together:

Great-looking Lamb Steve :)
Sorry to hear about your crown, careful you don't lose another in that Jammie Dodger 😉
Thanks buddy :) Yeah, I'm not even sure how I lost it this time! I just realised I was eating more comfortably  If I lived in a First World country, I'd find another fdentist, but they're rarer than hen's teeth here right now, or my teeth for that matter!😁

Weird! I was going to add a funny pic here! Who is this guy?! Seems unfortunate, that an image search on 'Gap Toothed Fool' only brings up photos of the one guy!🤣

Jack, he's Michael Strahan, ex pro football player. Now on morning news show.

I rang my pal Ewan, originally from Leith in Scotland, today, as it's his birthday, and he was on his way north, to Edinburgh, with his family, as he's moving back, after 20 years down here. I can't say I blame him, particularly as his folks are there. I'll try to get up to see him before too long

Wolfie called me. He's off to Albania, of all places, with his family, this week. Hope he doesn't pick up any local dress customs! 🤣
