Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Submitting application to join the club.

These are 8670 Carbon steel, SS liners/bolsters, bronze washers. Modeled after an A. Wright and Sons Sheffield lambs foot. The markings were made using a Gravograph pantograph engraver manually with scratch bit on top of a resist, then electro etched. The same technique was used on the leather slips I made to 'scar' it to show the letters. One is iron wood, one is double red canvas micarta, and the shadow pattern is olive drab green canvas micarta with brass pins, birdseye pivot

Bob glad your on the mend.

Good morning Guardians. Gloomy day here. Got about alway through mu morning stroll and the rains came. Luckily I had a rain slicker on but it was wearing hot - more seat than I expected so I got wet inside my clothing instead of from the outside in. The lake where I live was very calm as I walked by but the breezes watched up as the rain came in. The house that looks yellow is under construction and what you see is the membrane wrap.

HHB stayed dry at home.

Sorry about the weather Bill, it's been a really nice day here, weather is kind of bizarre at the moment. Looks like a nice part of town my friend :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has some time off this weekend :) I have a few things I need to take care of in the house, but I should be able to get out at some point, possibly meet up with Wolfie. Have a good one Guardians

Nice way to spend a morning !

Good morning Guardians !

Things are drying out from yesterdays rain. It rained all day and all last night, 2.5 inches total for 24 hours. We really needed the moisture beforecv the ground freezes so I'm happy for that 👍

Baxter Lamb today

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start !

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. My wife left for a long weekend trip with her sister, so I am watching a gaggle of four dogs and trying to plan out what troubles I can get into. 🤣

Here at 11:54 we should be at the peak of a partial eclipse in my area so I know I’ll be looking at that. I’m carrying the 88 today.

It was pretty traumatic Barrett!

😁

I’ve been trying to go to the gym a few days a week lately, which means leaving my knives at home or in the truck (limited pocket space in gym shorts).

Yeah, a lot of zooming and cropping going on there! :D Shotgun shells (and shotguns) are a lot more restricted than in the past. I suspect that the local constabulary may be familiar with that nutter brave warrior

Cool image! :)

Thanks, Jack. Maybe someday I’ll have enough Lambsfoot knives to recreate my full Happy-Birthday-written-in-knives image in a Guardians-thread-friendly way. 😁

LOL! :D The only time I ever worked nights was in a brewery! :D There was maybe a couple of hours work to do out of an 8 hour shift, the rest of the time we drank or slept! Some nights I would clock-in, and then just go to a nightclub, as the brewery was right in the centre of Sheffield! 🤣 Just before I started there, there had been a minor scandal, when some senior management from London were touring the labyrinthine brewery, and came across a bunch of made-up beds in the loft above the brewhouse! 🤣🤣

Sounds like a good gig! 😁🍺

Nice pic of your Albers, Jack. Is that background a page from a Where’s Wally? book? 😉😁

Heute regnet's schon seit Stunden
Heute regnet's den ganzen Tag
Aus den Tropfen werden Pfützen
Aus den Pfützen wird ein Bach

Thanks for testing my German, Jer. I took several years in high school and college, but languages really are “use it or lose it” sort of thing, and I’m afraid I’ve lost most of it. That said, I did ok with everything there except some of the nouns. Had to look up Pfützen and Bach, as well as Stunden, which I should’ve known.

I remember a lot of my Nena lyrics,
I also remember my declensions fairly well from memorizing them backwards and forwards. But yeah, there are a lot more nouns than endings. And Stunden doesn't sound like it should be hours. (Hope I got that right.)

I was voluntold to work the kitchen at our church rummage sale today. It's always a fun event and I'm usually happier working in the kitchen than socializing anyways.

The small rosewood came along. We ran the deep fryer and introduced a few people to the chip butty. A good first lunch! This poor knife is just coated in grease now.....

We also made fish, which was a delicious second lunch.... Along with a loaded hot dog and a mess of home made baked goods. Pumpkin cake and banana bread to name a few. Needless to say, I've eaten wayyyy to much today.

Every year I try to find a watch or clock at the event. There was nothing all that interesting this year but this 80's(ish) Elgin fits perfectly and looks pretty good. Paid a dollar for it and put a $4 battery in it! Lol! Runs just fine and there was no corrosion from the old battery. Score!

It was incredible mate! :D I was only 18, and just worked there for a few months, but it was a great temporary job (the older guys I shared a house with, later confided they were worried I was going to die!) I liked working there so much, I used to clock in early. We'd sit around, drinking tea, and reading the paper until 7.45am, then we'd go to the canteen for a large subsidised breakfast. When we came back we'd start drinking, and you were allowed to drink as much as you wanted, and since there was very little work to do, that's how we spent our days, and sometimes nights! The first day I worked there I had 17 pints before I went to the pub, but there were times I stayed drinking in there right through the night, and slept on the mess-room table. It was also extremely well-paid, and there was unlimited overtime, paid as double time! There were a range of other perks, it was just incredible 👼 But all the guys who worked there were chronic alcoholics, so it was probably best just to pass through ;)

LOL! :D It's some famous olde tapestry in the Royal Armouries museum Barrett! :D
