Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Now that's a really nice looking bike! Not seen anything on sale like that in the UK. Over here all e-bikes I've seen look like really wierd elongated delivery bikes. But a question; are E-bikes over in the US and Canada speed restricted?
I believe the legal limit in the US is 28 mph but the Vintage Tracker that I rode did about 40, if I am remembering right.
They are over £5,000 each over here, I could get one of these for half the price! :D

I think you need a few more lights and maybe a couple mirrors, Jack. ;):D

Thanks for that  Aye their website says there's an increased speed option for private roads/racing/offroad  I've just looked it up and the killjoys in charge of the UK limit E-bikes here to 15.5mph

Very interesting selection. Getting thirsty.....

Yip :D:thumbsup: Actually the beginnings of my winter supplies. Though as I'm starting 3 long days tomorrow I can say for certain 3 or 4 of them won't see the end of Fall... :)

Also, I would worry that such a cool and expensive-looking bike would be targeted by professional criminals (as opposed to the usual opportunist low-life bike thieves), and there'd be kids wanting to sit on the thing, etc o_O An old friend of my dad's rode a Brough Superior motorcycle into his 80's, but in the end he couldn't park it up without people stealing parts as souvenirs! I also had a Triumph Tiger when I was young, but got fed up of being pulled over by motorcycle cops who wanted to talk about the bike, which they had been issued here, prior to its replacement by BMWs in the mid 70's

Another fantastic pic Dwight

Great pic PJ  Am I right in detecting a certain amount of colour coordination there?! :D ;)

I used to dance my backside off to that track! :D :D

Nice pic Dave :) Glad to see your Big 'Un finally made it my friend :)

I think we do alright here :) I left skool at 16 myself ;) :)

Smashing GT :) Great to see these pics guys

I was out of the house at 7.00am , but back home now :) Carrying my ebony '18

Thank you, Jack,:thumbsup: you have a wedding to attend to tomorrow if I remember right o_O with a very short- Short Coat :p

Great photo Rachel and beautiful knife. :)
I have enjoyed the pictures of family members. Looked up pics of a Italian Greyhound. Wow! Talk about a streamline canine! :D Our Willow (ever vigilant :D)View attachment 1009389

Thank you Jack and I have the same thoughts on the bike. Too cool x two!View attachment 1009405 Have a great day Guardians. :)

That's another superb pic Dwight :)

£5000!!:eek: I spent an interesting half hour last night perusing their website. California looks like the perfect place to own one of these :) They even have a distributor in London but I didn't look further as I'm not in the market for one. And unless I lived in the wilds of northern England or on a Scottish island there's no way I'd buy one anyway cos like you say Jack, anywhere else it would just get nicked, or just as likely just trashed whilst chained up.:rolleyes::thumbsdown:
Thanks for posting the vid  I to wondered about the battery, but aren't Li-Ion batteries quite resilient in the cold? Saying that, there's cold. And then there's winter in Canada.... :D

Not sure about the Blake then Jack, but plans have changed and it's now a trawl around Kelham Island.:thumbsup: I'm sure there'll be photos of them all in the Beers thread afterwards. I was in the Ship at Shalesmoor a couple of weeks back and that was also 'trendy'. (Hated it ).

Hello Buttercup.

Hello beer.

Yes, I guess there's cold...and there's where Dave ( dc50 dc50 ) lives! :D

Have a great time around Kelham Island David :) It's a shame that so many of the pubs once there have gone, and many of those remaining tarted up. When I was a kid, both Infirmary Road and Penistone Road were lined with pubs all the way :) I've never actually been in The Ship, the tiling has always made it quite distinctive, but it was once a notoriously rough pub. I remember, as a kid, my dad told me that my granddad (who wouldn't have hurt a fly) had, as a young man, been badly beaten up by a gang of thugs there. I'm afraid I only have a photo from a couple of years ago, I think it has more windows today. It used to be painted in mock-Tudor fashion. Isn't that pale grey colour, the livery of one of those soul-less chains? :(

On Saturday Dave :) I have been on the tool-stall on Leeds market this morning with the groom-to-be and a few of the other guests. I imagine that tailor's ears were burning! Among other things, I have gifted my pal an Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot, which he'll have in his waistcoat pocket for the ceremony, so I must try and get a pic of him with it

A few pics of the going's on, and the Ashley would be great.:thumbsup::D Being a tough pub reminds me of one in northern Canada the wife and I went into after were married. It was in a small town called Hay River NWT when we walked in I noticed that the floor was only cemented no carpet or tile. We then proceeded to sit down at our little table and as usual, you pull your chair up to get closer, except they wouldn't move, they were bolted to the floor.
Of course, we asked the girl that came to serve us about all this, and yes it was done this way because of all the bar fights.:eek:

LOL! :D  Actually the wedding reception I'm going to on Saturday is in quite a rough place, and I think most of the guests will be old Rock 'n' Rollers (Teddy Boys) and Bikers! o_O I think I'll be one of the youngsters :D I won't have my camera with me, but I'll try to get a few pics on my phone :)

Crikey! It's most certainly is not like it was in your grandad's time then. It was very genteel with the obligatory hipster behind the bar serving mildly overpriced and overhopped (but well kept) ale.
Ova wrong sida 'o Pennines Robinson's brewery had grey (and tartan!) pubs for a time. As for the chains they change hands so fast these days I can't keep up, but I'm sureish it still looks like that photo your took there.
Anyway once I'd said goodbye to my mate I made a swift beeline for the Shakespeare across the way. Much better...:thumbsup:

... Gary Black Jack is looking hale!
Thanks, Dwight. :)

... I'm fortunate to have a good one, though I haven't seen an AC that looked poor.
I agree with your statement of consistent high quality with the AC Lambsfoots, Joshua!:cool::thumbsup:

... hope things work out well for both you and your wife.
Thanks, Dave. :) Everything seemed to go very well with my wife's procedure Tuesday.

Toting the stag today! Have a good weekend gents.
Nice "all for one and one for all" feeling in that photo, Joshua! ;):cool:

...
Locally quarried shalestone GT. In the mediaeval era the reuse of Roman stone wasn't unknown but this was all quarried anew. Most quarries for buildings like that were relatively close to the building but occasionally they were further away. The limestone for the building of York Minster and other ecclesiastical buildings in York (13-15th century) came from quarries over 13 miles away and was then transported by barge up the River Ouse.
Great shot on your laptop there
...
Thanks for the stone info, David; very interesting!:cool::cool:

Here comes a stag stampede that occurred throughout this week. Exquisite knives, Guardians!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:
Out for a hike in the woods with this stag Wright model keeping me company. Cool fall air, beautiful turning colors, and a proper knife makes for a good day!!!

LOL! Great find GT :D :D
...My hike yesterday was a bit shorter than useful, but the weather was really good for the time of year, and I had a nice day. My back was a constant nuisance, but feels no worse today than it would have if I had stayed in the house I think :)

Few pics from my walk yesterday, including a pint in Blind Jack's in Knaresborough (had to crop the pic as someone 'bombed' it)

Cool thematic coffee mug and braces, Jack, you old freebooting privateer!:cool::D

haha, not today :p this happens fairly frequently this time year ie rutting season.
Canmore_caribou_WEB.jpg
I know absolutely nothing about mountains. How far from the picnic table are the "blue mountains"? How does one grow corn on ground like that?
My view looks just like that. Except without the mountains. And squirrels rutting instead of elk.
:D:D:thumbsup:

Looking good GT! I am not sure whether I should have a patina on my new Ashleys or not  Wonder what the other fellas have done with there's? My ebony and rosewoods have a patina. ;)
No patina on mine yet, but I expect that to change substantially when it's one of my carries next week, Dave. ;)

Only a neophyte retiree would say such a thing. Look Gary those days are over! Tkkkkkk! Tkkkkk! Tikkkkk! None of that!!!! No no no, you're priorities are all wrong my friend. Now is the time to descend into a state of lethargy and malaise... as you're physiognomy experiences atrophy until every day becomes one ... and eventually time stands still... and then... there is no time... only ... only... ice-cream...:D:D:D just kidding. Outstanding knives you've posted!!
...
I sure hope not!
Thanks for the retirement advice, Dwight. :) It may take me awhile to figure this all out!
Rachel, you're scaring me! :eek::eek::rolleyes:

Jack, I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you do, so we fellers have a tip-top lambsfoot. Whether its stag, horn rosewood or ebony it all takes a full commitment from you.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Truer words were never written, Dave! Perpetual plaudits to Jack!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

It’s done well this year. ...
Thanks for your encouraging report on horn issues, Greg! :):thumbsup::cool:

That ironwood model is quite irresistible, Dwight!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

...oh well, the Town Bus is free for seniors :thumbsup:
Sign me up, Dave!! :thumbsup::p:p

Black Jack is one of my knifish companions all week:

Great story Dave, glad you got out alive. :D:thumbsup: I was reminded of a story I heard about 19th century Australian pubs. To avoid bother caused by bokes nicking each others stools a lot of pubs had a trough at the foot of the bar so patrons could relieve themselves without leaving their stools. Can't find a decent link to a decent page describing Australian pubs but I did find one describing something similar in the U.S.

haha no corn only Larch, Spruce and Pine grow here. :p Those Mountains are as the crow flies 2 miles away, they actually surround the town. Banff National Park gates are 2 miles away.
