Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Yikes!

LOL! :D Thanks mate :) Somebody is missing a trick, I've just been trying to find a template online to get some WABOOM!! glasses made up online, and nobody is doing them 🤷‍♂️:(;)😁

I decided to give the opticians a swerve, I might look for some online instead. It's not paying for them online, I just hate dealing with shabby con-artists, who treat everyone else like a 'mark' to try and get their hard-earned cash 🤨 I'd rather go to the dentists! Thirty years ago, I was living in France, and was struck by the presence of an opticians on every street corner. In Sheffield, at the time, there were probably no more than 20 in the entire city, and tucked away in the suburbs, for the most part. Five years later, it was the same here as France, because there's so much money in it! 😒 The scoundrels can't even get my prescription right 90% of the time 🤬

Jingle JIngle Jer! :)

Thanks Steve, Grumble Towers is starting to look like Imelda Marcos's wardrobe! I've struggled with my feet for the past decade, and for every comfortable pair of shoes I buy, I buy 3 or 4 pairs that aren't. There was a sale on in one of the outdoor shops, and I bought yet another pair of Merrell trail shoes. At least this pair appear to be sized correctly, but we'll see. I have 4 other pairs, all supposedly the same size, and 2 of them don't fit me well, with one pair being uncomfortable underfoot

I called in at Charlie's on the way to town, and continue to worry about his business. Fabrizio, who with his missus Anna, now seems to be managing the place, warmed me up a croissant, but left it in the microwave so long that it was like cardboard, and inedible 😖 Despite deciding against visiting the optician, I had plenty to do in town, and without my second breakfast, I was hungry by lunchtime. I ended up ordering a chip butty in one of the shopping malls. One of the many things I dislike about being an old man, are the the attentions of old women, and I had just sat down with my chips, and was, literally, about to take a photograph, when I was interrupted by a slightly mad old girl asking how my chips were, because she hadn't enjoyed hers, and then started rambling on semi-coherently, for an extended period. I'm not sure what she was going on about, but I didn't enjoy my chips much either, as by the time I got to eat them they were cold! 😣

I'm off to the opticians tomorrow, have a black Friday sale, I'm overdue haven't been since before covid. There are plenty here now. I blame the English going to Specsavers!
Tell Mrs Charlie ham cheese coirsount in sandwich press 😉
Yeah cold chips 😢
Those trikes definitely have a unique look. 😁 In the interim between the old Grummans and the goofy-looking new vehicles, I’ve seen a few different mail vehicles around here, most of which appear to be converted passenger vans. Vehicles used by rural mail carriers here in the US are a different story. Many of them use a personal vehicle, often converted for right-hand drive (I’m sure they’re compensated in some way for that, and maintenance). I spotted this one recently at a gas station. One of the more unique mail vehicles I’ve seen. 🤣

Did I ever tell you about my confusion on our first trip to England, when I went to mail packages to you and @Jolipapa ? My brother and I went to the closest post office to their place in Bath, which was less of a post office and more of a counter in the back of a corner shop. I handed the guy the two packages, he entered some information into his computer, then said, “First parcel, £5-something. Second parcel, £3-something.” (I don’t remember the exact prices.) Now I thought he was giving me the prices for each of the two packages, so I said, “Ok.” I didn’t realize he was giving me options (First or Second Class Parcel) for the first package, the one heading your way. 🤣 Thankfully my brother had been standing nearby (browsing snacks in the shop I think) and understood, so he stepped in and said, “First parcel, thanks.”

I hardly ever see our mailman, because our mailbox is at the corner of our street rather than in front of our house. (We live on a dead end, and the last street you can turn on before the dead end is also a dead end with just a few houses, so all our mailboxes are together at the corner of the two streets.)

Definitely unique little vehicles.

Probably so. 😁

That’s a shame, Mitch. 🙁

Nice pics, Dwight. I bet the end result was worth the effort. 🙂

🤣🤣

It looks like a vehicle designed by a cartoon artist. 😁

Well at least day 2 should (hopefully) be shorter.

I don’t miss the drive we used to make from Arizona to Arkansas, which was about 20 hours. A lot times we’d do it in one shot, usually leaving after work and driving through the night and most of the next day. 😳 I don’t know that I could do that now, and certainly not with the kids!

I figured you’d probably been behind the wheel of one of those, Paul.

Oh yeah, I’m sure they won’t like that, but it’s the same for just about any driving job anymore. I wonder if the cameras can be monitored live, or if they simply record in case of an incident.

That’s a shame about Charlie’s, Jack, and your interrupted chip butty. 🙁 I know it’s no consolation, but the chip butty looks good at least (as does your D&B and your K’roo).
Now that’s a snazzy looking delivery vehicle 😎
Ah last of the interceptors, Ford Falcon xb coupe, I believe it was a 73. The coupe was made from 71 to about 76, came standard with 5.8 litre V8. They were actually used a police highway vehicle in NSW. My parents had a white 1 when I was a kid.
They are worth big money now $125,000 +

Time to get those dirty Jack. 😄
Definitely! 🤣👍
Have a great day Guardians. 😎👍View attachment 2399983
You too Todd, lovely shot 😊👍
I went from wearing a size 9.5 to a 9 wide in Merrells and they fit much better. I usually try to buy two pairs as well when I find a comfortable shoe or boot. 👍
I'm a UK 11 (US 12), but generally, because of the bad sizing I have to get a 12, or even a 13! 🙄 👍
Thanks Jack and have a fun night 👍
Thanks buddy, we had a bit of a crawl 😊 We went in one bar, which has recently been taken over by some friends of mine, and the barman was absolutely steaming! 😳🙄
& Jack's One too! Awesome! I still have my AC with me- the edge is holding beautifully!
Thanks a lot pal, I'm glad you're still enjoying your AC 😊👍

Not a sentence most of us hear every day! 😂 Cool pic though 😎👍
Very nice Mitch 😎👍
We made it to the Casino....lost my wife to the tables already!!View attachment 2400156

🤣🤣🤣 We have more in common than I thought. I am a UK 11 or correctly AUS 11:p You are right different shoes different sizes.

These Mercedes Vans are what I'm seeing around here for the replacements. I talked to my mailman the other day and he really likes it although he said that he's not too happy about it being rear wheel drive.

Those are the vans I’ve seen recently. Rear wheel drive will be interesting come winter.

Thanks Steve, I remember being sent a pair of their boots for review, way back in the early 90's. Overall, they were pretty good, but came in grey, and a bright green they called 'teal', with pink (had some other fancy name) accents! :D I tried dying them black, but it didn't work out so well! 🤣 The 6 pairs I have currently are all very similar-looking, mainly browner than the ones I got today, but as I say, they fit differently. These seem OK today, so I might pick up another pair while they're on sale. I bought a pair made by Columbia recently, and wasn't impressed at all

That sounds pretty early-90s. 😁 I have a friend who swears by Merrell. I’ve tried a few on but never found any that I like enough to buy them.I have a couple decent Columbia jackets, but I’m not surprised that their shoes aren’t great.

The mailmen are probably frightened to come down to your house, in case the Bat-Penguin gets them!🤣

Probably so. 🤣 We have at least gotten to the time of year, now that the leaves are (almost) all gone, where you can actually sort of see the house before you get to the end of the street.

(That’s Lake Minnetonka you can see just a bit of through the trees at the end of the street.)

Pretty cool cop car. When I was a kid, the local police had a couple sports/muscle cars that they had confiscated from drug dealers and turned into cop cars. They’d bring ‘em by local schools and use them as part of an anti-drug presentation, but thinking back I’m not really sure what lesson we were supposed to take away from it, other than “drug dealers have cool cars”? 🤨🤣

A couple nights ago I baked a last-minute batch of these cookies that my grandma used to make, which we call Mamaw cookies. Scout needed a family holiday tradition for her preschool Thanksgiving celebration, and we always make these around the holidays. Unfortunately Scout got sick the morning she was supposed to take them to preschool and had to stay home (she’s better now). I guess we’ll just have to eat the cookies ourselves. 🙂

Aus sizes are perfect for me Mitch, they're like they used to be here, before they started trying to pretend that a European 46 is an 11, (or even a 12), rather than a 10 3/4! 🙄👍

Yeah, some bad colours generally in that time! 😱😂 The clothing I've had from Columbia has been ok, (I think I've seen one of your Columbia jackets! 😁), but I'd guess they contract out their footwear 🙄
