Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Tyson, I was just crossing a pedestrian crossing, and just as I was stepping up a very high kerb, a selfish driver sounded his horn at me, and distracted, my foot slipped off the kerb, and turned over, and I ended up on the pavement ☹️ I'm leaving on the 18th, so I really hope it's going to be ok 😟👍
You young fellas should be more careful. Only use the pedestrian crossing 🚸 with the lollipop lady 😜 😉
Nice One. He always, and i mean always does brilliant work. And what a gesture. The Forum at it's Finest.

I don't know about over there, but here for some reason they are hot items. Most people had never heard of an Advent Calendar, now they are everywhere. Even Aldi are selling them.
That's no surprise Leon Aldi is a very old supermarket chain and only recent in Australia. Most Catholics know what an Advent Calendar is, now they are marketing the calenders to masses. Cadbury, marvel what ever the current media hype is.

Such a great knife. Have a great weekend Pete!
Thank you Jon, please do the same. 👍
The color and jigging in that 93 are really nice. 😎👍
Mr. C knows how to get it done right. I think it is my favorite jig from GEC. 🍁
That fine slip suits your Charlie Lamb well buddy 😎
He sure a knows how to make a great slip. 😎👍👍
You too Pete, I hope work has eased off a bit pal 🙂👍
Jack it’s gotten better. The last couple of weeks have been better. We hired a complete stud and he has taken the pressure off. I’m very blessed to have him. He retired from another agency and came to us to “take a step back” and he is way overqualified.

I will never understand why vehicle drivers feel they have the right-of-way. I hope your ankle heels up quick for your trip.

We always had advent calendars. I'm 66.

It's a while since I found a bar I really like, but I was impressed by the cost of the rounds in my local pub last night - 2 bottles of Newcastle Brown, and a pint of a well-brewed local bitter - £7.20 (I was paying £5.40 for a pint in a city centre pub the other night)

That sounds like a pretty good deal, Jack, particularly considering how many you’ve said Bod can throw back! 😁

Same here Bob, currently 41°

Looks like it going to stay pretty temperate for the next week or so, too, Steve. Eleanor’s worried about whether or not we’ll get some decent snow before Christmas. 🙂

Good evening Guardians, hope everyone is doing well. Coming up to 7pm here, and I've had a long day out with no internet signal. I badly turned my ankle, and am currently sat in the kitchen with a bag of frozen peas on it 🙄 I did see a few signs of civilization extending as far south as Matlock! 😉

Sorry to hear about your ankle, Jack. 🙁 Take it easy if you can and hopefully it’ll heal up quick. Nice pic!

The nice thing about this most popular thread is; you don't have to go looking for it!! It's always on page 1 !!
I may have posted this one before, but the pictures are fresh!!View attachment 2409421View attachment 2409422View attachment 2409423
It was a plastic-handled JR; reStagged by @glennbad , and gifted by @knowtracks !!

That’s a good looking Lamb, Charlie! Glenn does great work.

I was gifted an advent calendar for the first time since I was a kid. Not sure how anyone opens the 'doors' without a Lambsfoot! 😉

The girls were excited to start their advent calendars today. No chocolate for them this year, though. Eleanor has a Lego Harry Potter advent calendar, and Scout has a Bluey one.

I did a DIY whisk(e)y advent calendar a couple years back, and a German Beer advent calendar the year after that. I didn’t do anything last year, and I really wanted to put something together for this year (I was thinking maybe cocktails), but unfortunately didn’t get around to it. 🫤

I was talking to Nobber Al in the market the other day, and I mentioned my mate Matt had gone to Iceland for his 40th birthday.
"Iceland?" Asks Al.
"Yes, Iceland."
"Iceland?!"
"Yes Al, Iceland!"
"The supermarket?!"
😖😖🙄🤔🤣

That’s great! 🤣

Yes, I'm staying right next to the Papagayo beaches Charlie, hoping to have a good look round (ankle permitting 🙁)👍

Fingers crossed it’ll be better by then. 🤞 If not, maybe you can hire a camel for the week. 😉

A little Giraffe bone in the pocket today. Last day of work for the week and then have the weekend off. Tomorrow is Christmas tree day!!! Looking forward to it. My kids love picking out the tree and setting it up. I love the spiked egg nog 😁.

Finally made the switch to an Apple phone from Samsung. Everything feels backwards😂😂.

Have fun, Paul! 🎄

I am, thank you Jack. I hope the same for you! 😊👍
Hoping to be mate :)

Looks great Paul  I'm glad you have some time off buddy, I always liked to put the tree up as a kid, seemed to be the start of Christmas :) Good luck with the phone :D

Yeah, it seems so Leon! Eve, who I was out with yesterday, was telling me how many different ones she and her boyfriend, Chris, had been given, and as she had bought me one, I gave her a gin and chocolates one, and a chilli one for Chris (I had actually just picked them up from a mate in Leeds market!). When I was a kid, there was just a picture behind the 'door', but they are much more elaborate (and expensive) now. The one Eve bought me came from a pretty fancy chocolate shop, but I don't think much to their chocolate! :D There's always someone coming up with another idea to get money out of us!😀

Cool pouch with your Lamb Mitch :) It's nice to enjoy the fruits of your labours :D :)
Hope you have a nice holiday!!
Thanks again Charlie, hopefully it'll be nice :)

I'm glad things have eased off a little Pete :) One thing about spraining my ankle is that I'll be having a restful weekend, even if it's a dull one!
I will never understand why vehicle drivers feel they have the right-of-way. I hope your ankle heels up quick for your trip.
Thanks mate, it was totally unnecessary, I had just crossed on a pedestrian crossing, and was just stepping onto the pavement. If he wanted to risk a ticket, and go through a red light, it was a wide road, with plenty of space for him to just drive past :(

Yeah, same here Jer :) Great to see your Ebony '18 :)
Healthy lunch Mitch :) We were hoping to visit a well-reviewed Mexican place for lunch yesterday, but when we got there, it had closed down!
That sounds like a pretty good deal, Jack, particularly considering how many you’ve said Bod can throw back! 😁
Yeah, he drinks like a fish Barrett! :D

Thanks buddy, I'm just going to stay in over the weekend, and try and rest it as much as possible

Good morning guardians, I hope all is well been trying to keep up with this tread but it’s moving faster than the time I have had to read it. Yesterdays lunch was from the local sandwich shop. Schnitzel with fresh tomatoes and some kind of sauce. View attachment 2409983
That looks tasty Daniel :)
Evening all some quiet afternoon/Evening beverages. 😉

Those look just the ticket after a hard day's gardening Mitch 😉😊👍

Good morning Guardians, I had a busy day planned today, including going out for Slimline Scott's birthday tonight, but that's off the agenda now. I'm going to see if I can get a grocery delivery ;) Hope everyone has a great weekend :) Carrying my Albers Lamb again, shown here with a heavenly dessert I had yesterday ;)

That pie looks delicious! The Albers looks nearly edible as well! Such a great knife.

I hope the day of rest is restorative. A bit more comfrey and probably some more of that pie should do the trick 👌🏼. Get well good sir.

It might be touch and go for a white Christmas this year .

Thanks a lot Jon, the pie was pretty darned good :) Nice little cafe too :) I'm grateful for your kind thoughts, I'll rub some more of the comfrey oil in, and try to stay off my feet. I'm missing Slimline Scott's birthday bash, but since it's 21 degrees outside, and bound to be colder later, indoors is a comfortable option
Great picture of your Albers and I hope your ankle heals quickly !
Thank you kindly Steve :)

My day is racing by, as I have plenty of desk stuff to do  I took a break for a Second Breakfast ;) I didn't have many of the ingredients for a fry-up, but 'needs must', and all that! :D Sausages were pretty good :)

Looks like the heavenly mile-high peanut butter pie at my bar.
I bought the calendar below off a shelf. Since then the store seems to have read the box and put it in the cooled deli counter.

I hope your cheese is OK Jer! That dessert was almost worth a return trip to Matlock Bath! :D

Those sound like some pretty good advent calendars! :D

I didn’t know Lego Harry Potter and Bluey were your cup of tea, Jack. Or did you mean the booze ones? 😉😁

It might be touch and go for a white Christmas this year .

Still a few weeks to go, we’ll see what happens.

I’m sure it’s fine. After all, cheese has been around a lot longer than refrigeration, right? 😉

Thanks. It seems fine. I haven't died from the first day of advent.

That's good to hear Jer, wouldn't want Rose Beast falling into idle hands! :D ;)

I was meaning for the kids Barrett! :D I've avoided Harry Potter, and am only vaguely aware of Bluey, but I liked Lego as a kid, though it was simpler then, as well as a lot cheaper. When I was a very young boy, before I started skool, my auntie and godmother was engaged to marry one of Furness clan from Stannington. On a sunny Bank Holiday Monday, I walked, with my mum and dad, my uncles, and aunties, to the Robin Hood pub at Little Matlock in the Loxley Valley below Stannington, which I think, at some point, had been been owned by one of the Furness men, for a family get-together. Also present was the Barlow family, who were friends of both families. Young Steven Barlow was 2 or 3 years older than me, and I remember his mother singing the praises of Lego, a tin of which I was subsequently bought

From Little Matlock to Matlock and Matlock Bath! :D

Off I went yesterday, to Matlock in Derbyshire, with Eve, who I've mentioned several times before (daughter of my ex girlfriend). I was glad we took coffee and doughnuts because the driver hadn't a clue where he was going, but we eventually got there! The trip had been advertised as an excursion to the beautiful Victorian Christmas Market at Matlock, which comprised over 200 seasonal stalls. This turned out to basically be a complete lie! 🤨

Though I haven't been there in over a decade, I am very familiar with Matlock, and the surrounding area, so knew we were not missing anything in the town itself, so we decided to walk to the more interesting nearby village of Matlock Bath, a sort of Victorian oddity, which is kind of like an English seaside resort, without the sea! :D The walk is along the River Derwent, with views to the high cliffs on either side. Much further away is Riber Castle, high up on the hill.

I used to kayak (and swim) down this section of the river, which had a very challenging slalom course. Unfortunately though, they've moved the course to a tame section of river upstream, and removed the numerous large boulders, which made this section a really exciting white-water section :(
