Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians !

I picked up a few more vintage Lambs. I'm carrying this unusual one today.

G.Butler & Co. two blade Lamb with a Spey secondary on a gunstock frame.

I had to clean it up as the liners were rusty and very dirty. A little wobble on the blades but great snap, I might try and tighten it up a bit.

Lovely old Stag !

Very nice Steve, like the old stag. British interpretation of a gunstock?

Wow Steve, knives were made for the Australian market with that blade configuration, but I don't think I've ever seen them on a Gunstock frame before. Absolutely fascinating

Thanks Jack, one of the others I got is also a G. Butler & Co.

What can you tell me about them ?

Levines guide listed them as 1768-1952 Trinity Works, Cavendish

Thanks Bob ! Yes it looks like it.
A lot of the terms we use here are modern collector's terms, and many of them are American too. That frame is very much like the smaller frames used for very old two-blade Quill knives

They produced very high quality knives Steve. Sorry Steve, you're going to have to wait until after Christmas now! :D Check this out though

Looks like I'm going to get hit with the tail-end of a 2-day French ATC strike tomorrow, which is likely to mean I'll be stuck on the plane a lot longer than expected before it takes off :( Hopefully, I'll get a chance to check in tomorrow, and be able to keep in touch over the Holiday :)
