Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hi, May I Help You?

Yeah, they can be pretty aggressive 🤣

I tried to find a video on YouTube, but could only find things from news stories and such, and in those they’re a bit friendlier than I remember. 🤣

Must be dangerous being the porch food tester!

That is some fine looking burl Barrett.👌

It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it. 😁

Somehow, I survived my wife's first day of retirement.😱

You might have to find new ways to look busy. 😉

Thanks pal, my main concern was that we'd get diverted to Manchester

Is that worse than crashing? 😉🤣

I wonder if Harry has seen The Car on the Ice this year?

I doubt it. I don’t think they’ve had much more real winter so far down his way than we’ve had here.

Yeah, I hope Abdul is not still cursing me! I reckon so, they had about 50 camels there, and it seems they do a series of 10 minute plods all day, (with a 2 hour break in the middle of the day), at $20 a shot. A camel costs about $600 apparently. Even I don't have to take my shoes and socks off to know it's a money-spinner! :D

I’m sure Abdul has seen worse. 😉 I guess the downside to the potentially lucrative camel business is you have to smell camels all day. 🤣

Those look like two very tasty sammiches Barrett 😋 Sorry to hear about the disappointing sauce :( I'm yet to find a decent BBQ sauce here. I don't know why I don't just go back to making my own  Some of the popular ones I've had have been awful 😣

Thanks, Jack. I guess they can’t all be winners. I’ve never tried making my own BBQ sauce.

There's a fish and chip shop at the bottom of my street, and when I first lived here, it was staffed by two notoriously brusque Jamaican ladies. A lot of the young folks were terrified of them, but they were always OK with me. However, there was a moment, when they were wrapping up the orders, where they would pause for the briefest time, and you were expected to know what to do, otherwise you'd get shouted at: "Ya wan' salt an' vinegar?!" :D

Hey, sometimes the place with that kind of service have the best food. 🙂

Good morning Guardians, you've been very busy while I've been asleep! :D I thought I'd better get up early! ;) Hope everyone is doing alright :) Great to hear that David is out of hospital now :) I have plenty to do still, not least editing those photographs! Carrying my 2017 Guardians SFO, a shame we couldn't have had one every year :( Have a great day Guardians

Thank you buddy!

I don't have my books to double check but that about how NYKC got started.

Very attractive Steve 😎👍
That's some handsome wood 😊👍

I've been editing photos most of the day, again, and I can't say it's something I enjoy. It's hard on the eyes, requires concentration, and leading to RSI! 🙄👍

Ha! I looked on Youtube too and, like you, didn't find anything that captures the true essence of the experience. Its been many years since I've been to one. I used to go to the one on US40 in Independence and they were quite insistent on helping you as soon as you stepped through the door :D
That's some handsome wood 😊👍
Thanks, Jack :)
My photos don't do it justice.

Well, not much point worrying about that! 🤣👍

Strange year 👍

I mainly used to make it to bake ribs and chicken in. Just stuff out of the cupboard really, but it was popular. I forget what exactly what was in it it now, but I remember it had Hoi sin sauce, tamari, ginger, tomato paste, ketchup, Tabasco, black pepper, etc. Possibly some Henderson's. I tried that Secret Aardvark black bean sauce again last night, but didn't think it was any better 🙄

True! 😁👍

You are too modest my friend :)
Good morning, folks. I'm carrying an old friend today.

Great to see you here Dylan, fine shot of your AC 😎👍

I haven't been out for 2 days, but tomorrow is market day, so I'll be up early to head down there, and catch up with Tool Man and the gang. Thought I'd carry my Sheldon Lamb (thanks Kevin seas165 seas165 ), so I can show it to Tool Man

Numerous times, on my travels around Lanzarote, I passed the old salt flats, the last of their kind there still producing salt, so even though I very rarely use salt, I thought I'd bring some home with me. Tool Man would probably like to think of himself as 'salt of the earth', though I reckon salted earth is more like it! 🤣

As i recounted the other day, when I returned home a few days ago, there was a large parcel waiting for me from Mr & Mrs Tyson A Wright Tyson A Wright , and apart from the California Park calendar, which is now on my kitchen wall, there was a choice selection of local goodies enclosed, as well as something I'll show elsewhere ;)

In a series of Post-It notes, Tyson explained that, the peaches used in the peach jam are grown at a farm close to them, and the farmer is the author of the book, which I think is pretty cool :) I got through a lot of peach juice while away on vacation ;) I love olive oil, and the small bottle contains some of California's finest, so I'm looking forward to trying that too 😋 There is also some honey from a local beekeeper, though you can't see it in the photo, as I put it in the tall cup for safe-keeping ;) I've never seen a cup like that before, pretty cool eh? I'll be sure to buy some nice sourdough bread when I'm at the market tomorrow 😋 Thank you, to you and Dawn, Tyson :) Those straws look interesting :)

Afternoon Guardians! Got out of the hospital and made it to moms yesterday evening. Been sleeping a lot today. Now I'm chasing pills to different pharmacies trying to get my prescriptions filled. Ethan is riding shotgun
Great news, David !!! It is always nice to see Ethan.
See you got a bit of the white stuff Paul. Hope your day is going OK. That's a handsome Lamb :)
Just a little bit. Has been a warm…. Dare I say hot winter.

New lamb day!!!!!! My first TEW. This one will be going to Glenn. I cannot stand the plastic covers. Nice to have a larger lamb though. Blade is full and overall in great shape.

Regular work day. Winter is so slow at work here. Just park in one of my secret hideout spots and relax.

Nice score !

Thoughts on camels, American history, culinary experiences are most entertaining.🤠
We are getting down on page one so thought i would keep the culinary theme going. Dabbling in a new food culture so to speak, an acquired taste but have really taken to it. From the old days when they had to make do and not waste anything, " fermenting ". o_Oo_Oo_O:thumbsup:🐲.

Here's my experience with camels
In 94 I was between jobs. A farrier friend of mine who handled animals for a guy up north of us when things were slow in the winter. This guy supplied animals for Hollywood, Vegas, Atlantic City for movies, shows ect.. Friend wanted to know if I'd help him with the animals over at Branson as the Rockettes were going to Branson to do their Christmas show first time outside NYC. Sure ain't got nothing else to do. Didn't pay much but might be a good big adventure. After we get over to Branson and set up. The next morning while tending to the animals some folks from the show show up and told us to be at a certain room in the Grand Palace to be fitted for costumes. I looked at my friend and asked what was going on he said I don't know but I will find out. Seem we had to be in the show to handle the animals. No lines just handle the animals. I was told I was one of the three wise men and handled a camel named Altus so for the next three weeks or so. I did three or four shows a day. Leading Altus on stage holding her in place then off stage. Now I've never been around a camel before on my life. Altus was an interesting camel her personality was like a cross between a horse and a dog. I came to like the camels we had in the show.

Bob I feel for you. Our local post office put a sign up before Christmas closed permanently, due to unforeseen circumstances....huh?
The PO in the next suburb over closed also about a month before ours. Yet they are all about quality of service and increasing parcel delivery service
Mitch is your postal system privatized or run by the govt?
