Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Just busted out a white bone Charlie lamb!!!! Sorry if I missed it before but that is a beauty.

This one was originally an ebony but was recovered in white bone by a previous owner. I enjoy being able to use it since it’s not a truly rare piece like the original white versions are.

But thank you, I agree it’s quite the nice example if I have to say so myself and I’m happy to own it 🙂

Aaaah Dylan, now there's a sight!
Well done, you have down trou'd both Jack and I, and I am oooozing jealousy looking at Rhidians interpretation - I ALWAYS enjoy your posts, you have great Knives, great taste my friend. I love Joseph Rodgers when they went ape stamping all over the Blades!

On a totally flip side on Dylan scale of quality, I*XL have the name for outstanding Knives- that doesn't have to be mentioned really, but I am not sure exactly when- it seems to me to be late 60's- perhaps 70's when they used a Coloured Composite Red handle material- a lot of it was on the Clip point Barlows etc, but I saw this, and I found myself keeping on going back to it, "Yes Duncan - it's that yukky material.." but - like I said I kept going back to look at it thinking "Well..... it's the nicest exampl of this material that I have seen, and it's on a Lambsfoot- so what are you doing "
So I bought it- just to check it out, it's not tooooooo bad, I think I am happier owning it than not- so that answer my question of did I waste my money - it was pretty inexpensive as well, so.......... here it is, ( it has a wee krink in the tip of the blade - photo's make it look quite severe- it's actually on the edge only ....

All 93 lambs are rare in my book. Looks great.

Superb Dwight
Thank you kind sir.
Great pic buddy !
Thanks pal.
Those older Stags are phenomenal Steve and Dwight!
Much obliged Duncan!
Tried out a new recipe the other day, chicken pot pie soup. It’s okay, not great though. Worth making again but will need to improve the recipe next time. too bad I have like a gallon of the stuff left over…

But I think it makes for a decent backdrop 😆

Love this CC smooth white bone lamb.
Very fine score, Duncan. It's interesting seeing some of these rare birds come out of the wood work.

I do believe that I have both you and Jack beat when it comes to poor condition though - I think it should be a crime for someone to use a grinder to sharpen a knife but some folks just didn't know any better, I suppose.

Nothing but superlatives for Rhidian's masterpieces. 🙏

That's some pretty fine jigging too! 👍

Great pictures!
Hope Eleanor enjoys school. The kids here don't go back till the end of January.

Thanks, Mitch.

I was going to ask why so long, but I guess that’s just summer break there, huh? 😎

A lot of the post offices here now are just counters in other businesses. Sometimes the folks running them have several businesses, and don't even look at you while they are serving you, as they are on the phone 🙄

That’s what the one I went to in Bath to mail a couple packages was like, just a counter at the back of a corner shop, although the guy working there was older and at least wasn’t on his phone. At one point during one of our trips, I had to go with my brother to a larger post office in Bath to pick up a package. They weren’t much friendlier there. 🙄🤣

I will say, the kind of service you get here depends on where the post office is located. Smaller post offices in smaller towns are usually better. The one in our town here always has the same few people working in it, and they’re nice enough. Same for the small-ish town where we lived in Arizona. But go into on in some of the bigger towns/cities and the employees can be less than pleasant.

I manged to take a few photo's lately under the Porch isn't good enough- as it is too "Glary" I used to have gorgeous lighting with some of the Trees in the older House.

Yesterday I placed back my AC back after having it in the edc for so long, I am wondering which one to pick out and use now...... 🤔

Awesome group pics, Duncan! Quite a collection!

Horrors!! Entered my pantry and found no Hendersons relish; that will be corrected today.
Enjoy your Thursday.View attachment 2444679

For all its faults, it’s amazing that we live in a world where a regional condiment that used to be unheard of outside of one part of England can now be at your doorstep on the other side of the ocean in a day or two. 😁

Did they offer a reason for cancelling it?

We’ve had a very mild winter so far. There’s no snow on the ground and not a lot of ice on the lakes so far. Earlier today I drove by the part of Lake Minnetonka where the race is held, and a good part of it is still open water. I think they had to make a decision far enough ahead of time to give everyone involved a chance to adjust their plans (particularly the competitors, some of whom comefrom Canada and Alaska), and they had to do it based on the current conditions, rather than just crossing their fingers and hoping for enough cold and snow over the next few weeks.

I think the problem there is that you’ve omitted the best part of the chicken pot pie: the crust. 🥧 😉

That’s a great looking knife, Duncan. I like the look of the handles, even if they aren’t bone.
