Thanks, Mitch.
I was going to ask why so long, but I guess that’s just summer break there, huh?
That’s what the one I went to in Bath to mail a couple packages was like, just a counter at the back of a corner shop, although the guy working there was older and at least wasn’t on his phone. At one point during one of our trips, I had to go with my brother to a larger post office in Bath to pick up a package. They weren’t much friendlier there.

I will say, the kind of service you get here depends on where the post office is located. Smaller post offices in smaller towns are usually better. The one in our town here always has the same few people working in it, and they’re nice enough. Same for the small-ish town where we lived in Arizona. But go into on in some of the bigger towns/cities and the employees can be less than pleasant.
Awesome group pics, Duncan! Quite a collection!
For all its faults, it’s amazing that we live in a world where a regional condiment that used to be unheard of outside of one part of England can now be at your doorstep on the other side of the ocean in a day or two.
We’ve had a very mild winter so far. There’s no snow on the ground and not a lot of ice on the lakes so far. Earlier today I drove by the part of Lake Minnetonka where the race is held, and a good part of it is still open water. I think they had to make a decision far enough ahead of time to give everyone involved a chance to adjust their plans (particularly the competitors, some of whom comefrom Canada and Alaska), and they had to do it based on the current conditions, rather than just crossing their fingers and hoping for enough cold and snow over the next few weeks.
I think the problem there is that you’ve omitted the best part of the chicken pot pie: the crust.
That’s a great looking knife, Duncan. I like the look of the handles, even if they aren’t bone.
