Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

For all its faults, it’s amazing that we live in a world where a regional condiment that used to be unheard of outside of one part of England can now be at your doorstep on the other side of the ocean in a day or two. 😁

It is amazing and two are on the way Barrett.
I see you found a place that includes a beautiful lamb with each purchase!!!! 🤔

That's a good possibility Jack Black Jack Black !
:D
Now that’s inflation!

Mine was $325, but it’s going up to nearly $400 in July 😬
Yikes!
Very fine score, Duncan. It's interesting seeing some of these rare birds come out of the wood work.

I do believe that I have both you and Jack beat when it comes to poor condition though - I think it should be a crime for someone to use a grinder to sharpen a knife but some folks just didn't know any better, I suppose.

Your Rhidian is in great condition Dylan :) I thought I had another badly-abused Swell Centre Lamb by Rodgers, but now I look, my memory is defective! :D

Aaaah Dylan, now there's a sight!
Well done, you have down trou'd both Jack and I, and I am oooozing jealousy looking at Rhidians interpretation - I ALWAYS enjoy your posts, you have great Knives, great taste my friend. I love Joseph Rodgers when they went ape stamping all over the Blades!

On a totally flip side on Dylan scale of quality, I*XL have the name for outstanding Knives- that doesn't have to be mentioned really, but I am not sure exactly when- it seems to me to be late 60's- perhaps 70's when they used a Coloured Composite Red handle material- a lot of it was on the Clip point Barlows etc, but I saw this, and I found myself keeping on going back to it, "Yes Duncan - it's that yukky material.." but - like I said I kept going back to look at it thinking "Well..... it's the nicest exampl of this material that I have seen, and it's on a Lambsfoot- so what are you doing "
So I bought it- just to check it out, it's not tooooooo bad, I think I am happier owning it than not- so that answer my question of did I waste my money - it was pretty inexpensive as well, so.......... here it is, ( it has a wee krink in the tip of the blade - photo's make it look quite severe- it's actually on the edge only ....

That's the nicest example I've seen of that material too Duncan
This one was originally an ebony but was recovered in white bone by a previous owner. I enjoy being able to use it since it’s not a truly rare piece like the original white versions are.

But thank you, I agree it’s quite the nice example if I have to say so myself and I’m happy to own it 🙂
Just to confuse cutlery historians :D ;)
Beautiful Steve :)
Everyone must still be on Christmas leave/holidays. Busy on the Forum and we keep slipping down page one.:eek::eek:.

Nah morning jobs to do.
Thanks for your efforts to prevent relegation gents :) Two fine-looking Lambs there :)
Put these bad boys on your toast.

They good Rick? 😋 I don't think I've seen them here, I love the brand name :D Baked beans were served at breakfast time, when I was on vacation, along with the other ingredients of a traditional English breakfast, but nothing was right, the beans were bland, the sausages poor, and I'm not sure what they had done with the mushrooms (probably canned). Thankfully, there was lots else to eat :)
They really are not all that spicy. It's a lie.
That seems pretty common! :D
Nothing but superlatives for Rhidian's masterpieces. 🙏
+1
Evening Guardians! Got a Bex Lamb today. I've really started to appreciate the Bex covers. I seem to have accumulated a bunch of them. 🤠

I agree David. Bexoid can be very appealing. 👍
Yep, count me in too, Bexoid may not be the fanciest of covers materials, but it's tough, and attractive in its own way :) Nice example David
That’s what the one I went to in Bath to mail a couple packages was like, just a counter at the back of a corner shop, although the guy working there was older and at least wasn’t on his phone. At one point during one of our trips, I had to go with my brother to a larger post office in Bath to pick up a package. They weren’t much friendlier there. 🙄🤣
Sadly, I'm not surprised mate :(
I will say, the kind of service you get here depends on where the post office is located. Smaller post offices in smaller towns are usually better. The one in our town here always has the same few people working in it, and they’re nice enough. Same for the small-ish town where we lived in Arizona. But go into on in some of the bigger towns/cities and the employees can be less than pleasant.
I was once over in Sheffield, and had to call in at the post office. My daughter warned me about the semi-subterranean place we went to. Boy, was it rough! It was full of drunks and junkies, with drug-dealing taking place, and fights breaking out. They had several security guards, who seemed to be staying out of the way, and when you got to the counter, it had ceiling-high armoured glass, and staff with a lousy attitude!

You do like a tomato Mitch :) I might make some bruschetta later, and drizzle on some of the great-looking olive oil Tyson A Wright Tyson A Wright sent me :)

David, they are a unique cover and provide a good connection to the hand.👌
Thanks Bob!

Amazing indeed!

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has had a good week :) We certainly see a great selection of Lambs here these days, pretty amazing  I was hoping 2024 might bring drier weather here, but it's still raining unfortunately :( There is widespread flooding, and apparently, farmers are having to give their sheep vitamins, because they've stopped eating the grass  With all the depressing news, I'm going to take a flight of fantasy for the day, with Space Lamb! :D Have a good one Guardians

Tomatoes yeah they are OK 🤣 I have to leave the Cherry 1s for Kristy, snacks on them like most people snack on nuts😁 if I had a green house I'm sure I would be required to grow them all year round 😈

It's a dandy, strong pull just south of a nail breaker and hard snaps:thumbsup:

Here's a few photos from my first day in Lanzarote, an island which I think has a really interesting history. My hotel was situated in a very attractive and peaceful position, about an hour or so's walk from Playa Blanca, the nearest town, and the very last hotel, before the Papagayo beaches.

The hotel had a beautiful interior, and I got the quiet room I asked for, with perfect views over to the island of Fuerteventura, which I had visited last Christmas
