Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

The calm after the storm. Roads are clear and back to the everyday grind. South Metro SWAT from Minneapolis was here conducting some cold weather urban training. I was very impressed with their professionalism and competency. Gave me a cool sticker that I will slap on my knife storage toolbox. Giraffe lamb is riding in the pocket today. Hope everyone had a great day.

You had me worried for a sec there Paul, I thought the snow ball fights had been getting out of hand! Glad it was a friendly visit buddy, and that's a handsome sticker they left you :) Great-looking Lamb too :)

Jack, Some of that terrain looks like Mars- Harsh! Must be an amazing place to visit! Jack your Hartshead looks like its an extremely well looked after antique- in other words Beautiful- it has real patina now and that Stag is gorgeous!

Steve- Stripy is looking Great- and what can we say about Cassie- What a Sweetheart- Oh boy do I miss my wee friends, when Sue and I get back from England later this year, we are going to a rescue place to help some beautiful friend out and give them love they never have had!

Dwight- Oh man, Stag and Damascus - that's a Killer right there - Wow love seeing that!

David, I bet that Becote just gets better and better with age on that M.May you have there- that's a interesting one - the Bolsters Brass?

Giraffe has super handles Paul - its crazy looking through all these Lambs and their differences. like Jack said, cool sticker, I have somewhere a Pen from the FBI, it has the FBI emblem on it in gold with the branch- cant remember which branch it was now - not a touristy thing, a proper one- I thought it was pretty cool.

Ken, another M.May! awesome to see! Bog Oak? so taking that this is from an Old Oak Tree dug up from a Swamp / Bog area? do you know the age of the Wood?

Thank you kindly Jack! It did start an obsession... 🤣
:D

There's been a fair bit of filming on Lanzarote over the years, including for Doctor Who (hoping that'll make JohnDF JohnDF drop his beanbag! :D), and they hosted Raquel Welch here for One Million Years BC :D  Hey, I just realised Raquel has the same surname as my grandma, we could be related! Sorry to break your heart Raquel 🤷‍♂️:(🤣

Thank you Duncan! You are correct about the bog oak- supposedly it has been under water in a swamp for 100's to 1000(?) years. That gives it the color it has. I have another knife in bog oak that I've had for years that I really like (Can't show it here) so when I saw the M. May Lamb, I had to have it. And I'm thrilled with it. It was my first Sheffield knife, so it took a little bit to get used to the action and break it in, but now I really love it!

Edit: I was a little off-base. I found this on the "Wood Database" -

"Bog Oak, much like Brown Oak, is not a specific species, but is rather a term that designates oak that has been buried in a peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from normal decay, while the underlying peat provides acidic conditions where iron salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct dark brown to almost black color."

I'm pretty sure she's dead, anyway.

Thanks, Duncan. This lamb was my very first that I had recovered by Glenn. I told him to pick out something nice and he did a wonderful job.

Very cool about the pen. I can picture it in my head.

Beautiful Todd. Remind me of what those covers are made of.
Thanks Dwight, the covers are Mango wood. It was a gift from Paul some time ago.
Show stopper Dwight, and I love the owls that have been in your photos lately. 😎👍

Beautiful knife and a pretty cool sticker Paul.
😎🏴‍☠️

🤣🤣🤣. Sometimes I should be dragged off in chains for my grammar. I spend more time editing my post after I go back and read them than I do enjoying knives.
There's nothing wrong with your grammar Paul, it was me pulling your leg buddy! :D ;) Don't worry, if your grammar was bad, I'd be the first to tell you! 🤣;)

Thanks Steve :) Hey, good point!!  :D;)

Great tale :)

Fantastic Steve :)

Thanks buddy !

Beautiful skyline image Leon.

Thanks Steve.

Stripey is a photogenic lamb and so is Cassie. Thank God for dogs. They are the best of all of us.

Thanks Dwight and ain't that the truth !
