Snow’s coming down today, supposed to change to freezing rain this afternoon. I gave the Senator a quick peek, but he wanted to return to the warmth of the fire

It'll darken with carry.

I’ve been using it nightly for my -working out of town, hotel made meals- not TV dinners mind you, but still microwave. It’s already developing a patina

Thanks! Yes, I pushed some mineral oil into the spring and pivot with a q-tip. It still comes up with black oil it but it’s smoothed out a lot - or my thumb is getting stronger.

Of the condiments I picked up today, these 3 are new to me, and I got to sample each before buying, and was very impressed

The Indian-style pickle on the right is actually made in Leeds, and the chutney is from a British condiment producer I have quickly taken an interest in

Sounds interesting, Jack. I had to look up “nigella.” I had never heard of the spice, but I was pretty sure that jar of chutney wasn’t referring to the coquettish cooking show host.

I'm just trying the chutney on some Ritz crackers. It's very tasty, going to be nice on a sausage sammich, but there's almost no heat at all
